Syrup
Drawing from the sounds of early 2000s garage and grime, alongside 90s house and disco, Syrup crafts sets that are rooted in nostalgia yet built for the new wave of dance music. With inspiration for his own productions taken from Oldboy, MJ Cole and Australian powerhouse Osmosis Jones.
With standout appearances at some of Melbourne’s most respected venues, including Section 8, Glamorama, Revolver Upstairs and Bourke St Courtyard, Syrup has quickly established himself as a tastemaker with depth, range, and serious dance-floor intuition.
As a founding member of the Naarm-based UKG collective Our Garage, Syrup is helping to shape Australia’s rapidly growing garage movement—hosting events and pushing a sound that is quickly turning heads, especially with standout sets supporting the likes of MPH, Tuff Trax, Zac Attacq, MOWGLI and appearances alongside local heroes Garçon.
Whether behind the decks or curating events, Syrup is a part of the new surge of Australian club culture: nostalgic, forward-thinking, and always in the groove.
