Samo Rane
At the end of 2015, Samo Rane left Iran and found refuge in Berlin.
Coming from a place where parties and forms of collective musical expression were heavily restricted, his relationship with electronic music became inseparable from the freedom it represents: the freedom to gather, to move, to express and to exist without permission.
A sound engineer, DJ and producer, Samo studied Audio Engineering at SAE Institute Berlin from 2018 to 2021, developing a deeper understanding of sound from both its technical and creative sides.
In 2018, he also founded mercyTechno, a radio show and podcast series that later evolved into a record label, connecting electronic music with artists, stories and ideas from different backgrounds.
For Samo, techno is more than a sound system or a dancefloor. It is a space of encounter, where different worlds can meet through rhythm and sound.
His work moves between sound engineering, DJing, production and community, with a continuous interest in the relationship between music, freedom and human connection.
