“Confidential Recipe is the sound of rave, techno, electro and breaks cooked to perfection.”

the whole biography
Confidential Recipe is the sound of rave, techno, electro and breaks cooked to perfection. It is a new alias from multifaceted, Venezuela-born, Bogota-based artist Carlos Siu. He is a DJ who has mastered the element of surprise and has been making jacked-up beats under a different name for over a decade. As well as co-running his own Kontra Imprint, he now releases on Rekids and its RSPX sub-label. From the raw and early sound of Dance Mania to classic Detroit electro via thrilling UK breaks, he weaves music together in a heavy and hypnotic fashion. Each time he plays, he tells a story with electrifying highs and unpredictable shifts in mood that never let dancers rest. His signature tracks are built on powerful drums, laced with neck-snapping percussion and finessed with mystic melodies that take you into another dimension. Her productions are steadily gaining momentum throughout the world of dance music and she is more and more in demand as remixer too.Their RA profile lists Get Physical Music, Turbo Recordings, Rekids, Suara and 6 more.often with HOPPER, ACID BOGEN, Moretz, none of them here that night
“A longtime fixture of Detroit's club scene, DJ Minx is often referred to as the First Lady of Wax.”

A longtime fixture of Detroit's club scene, DJ Minx is often referred to as the First Lady of Wax. Her sets and productions range from deep and minimal to boisterous and funky, earning her enduring respect across the global house and techno community. Active since the early 1990s, she formed the Women on Wax collective and launched its label in 2001, amplifying the voices of Detroit’s female DJs and producers. Minx scored an underground hit with the 2003 minimal house track “A Walk in the Park”—later reissued on Richie Hawtin’s M_nus imprint—and has continued to release music that bridges Detroit’s rich history with forward-thinking club culture. Throughout her career, Minx has played pivotal roles in Detroit’s musical story: hosting Deep Space Radio on WGPR, broadcasting Steamy Windows on CJAM, holding residencies at Club Motor, and performing at every edition of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival / Movement since its inception in 2000. Her contributions were formally recognized with the Spirit of Detroit Award in 2018, and she has been honored by Mixmag and Time Out as one of the women who shaped dance music history and among the top house DJs of all time. Since 2021, Minx has embraced her voice as a proud advocate for the Black queer community. She released Purse First to benefit Detroit’s Ruth Ellis Center, where she was also immortalized in a mural celebrating LGBTQ+ leaders. Her EP Queendom on HE.SHE.THEY. and her BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix debut in 2022 cemented her global presence. Do It All Night (Planet E) showcased remixes from Carl Craig and Honey Dijon, further elevating her reach. In 2025, Minx continues to thrive as one of Detroit’s most important cultural ambassadors. She released “Blocked” on Rules Don’t Apply in February—a sharp, self-empowering anthem—and collaborated with Kevin and Dantiez Saunderson as e-Dancer on “Detroit”, an intergenerational tribute to her city’s techno legacy. She also lit up her hometown with a halftime performance for the Detroit Pistons in March 2025. International bookings remain strong, with headline festival slots and curated stages at Movement and beyond. From her roots in Detroit’s underground to her present role as a global cultural force, DJ Minx stands as a living legend: bold, soulful, and uncompromising, still shaping the future of dance music more than three decades in.Their RA profile lists M-nus, Whasdat Music, Women On Wax Recordings and Sun & Sound Detroit.often with Jason Kendig, Eli Escobar, AK, none of them here that night
“For a while, he has been using different types of percussion elements.”

For a while, he has been using different types of percussion elements. The result is an enjoyable rhythm, which communicates with its audience in a very particular way. In a playful approach, he creates an incredible repertoire of feelings that reproduces within the crowd. Mathias’ various sets include the following sound features: funky, freaky, dashing, dub, slamming, enriched by African and South American percussions. Inspired and motivated by the first House & Techno DJs at Bioxultra in Gera he got his first turntables at the age of 14. One could argue it is necessary to live wherever the sound rises at a particular time. However, Mathias draws on his own strengths. Away from sated urban in- and output, he has always maintained the objectivity for his music. For 7 years, he has been the resident DJ of the well-known club Muna. He is not only DJing there, but he also supports talented folks within the Freshblood project. Additionally, he is jointly responsible for the Klanglauf events at Kassablanca in Jena, as a DJ and organizer. Together with Marek Hemman, Mathias released 4 EPs on the label Freude am Tanzen and 4 own EPs on Vakant. Amongst others, he also did remixes for Matthias Tanzmann, Onur Özer, Dapayk, Anja Schneider, Daniel Stefanik and Trentemöller. DJing and, later on, the production of electronic music have been his occupation since 1996. With his style of work, Mathias joins those, who refuse to produce and release music excessively. Thus, the necessity to make records that will remain long lasting is one of the guiding motifs of his profession.Their RA profile lists Vakant, Cargo Edition, Freude Am Tanzen, Lebensfreude Records and 6 more.often with HOPPER, ACID BOGEN, EXTRA, none of them here that night
“As Matthew E he fashions club-based, dancefloor slayers.”
their own biography
the whole biography
As Matthew E he fashions club-based, dancefloor slayers. Under that aegis he’s updated the classic Chi-town, jackin’ sound beloved of house aficionados and layered it with fractured funk, belligerent, oddball beats and mechanical soul. If Matthew E is all about the Saturday Night Fever, then, by contrast, Rekid is the slower, more deliberate, rhythmical funk of the mid-week mayhem. Its well-intentioned muscular intensity making it perfect soulful sustenance. Quiet Village is something else all together. A collaboration with long-time musical sparring partner Joel Martin (a vinyl freak, like Mr Edwards, who works in esteemed auction house Christie’s pop department), it’s sample-based music which veers from drawn out disco-not-disco delirium to evocative, under-stated soundscapes. Sea Devils - you keeping up at the back? – is undeniable electronic pop brilliance. Working with Tom from Cagedbaby, it’s the least niche of Matt’s projects and thanks to Sea Devils alluring pop dance grooves they’ll no doubt be shagging the upper reaches of the hit parade sometime soon. Last, but by no means least etc, etc, etc, is Radio Slave. Perhaps Matt’s most instantly recognisable nom de guerre, thanks in part to his inspirational melding of Kylie’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head to New Order’s Blue Monday, this is Matt’s DJ moniker and the guise under which he completes his incendiary remixes and re-edits. However, before such sonic schizophrenia gets you calling for the men in white coats, just feel the quality and consider Matt’s legacy. Fired by the first wave of acid house, Matt gained his musical spurs by partying to dance music that was just that: music you danced to, irrespective of tribal factions. This was the raison d’être he acknowledged when he took to the decks, first at London’s legendary Milk Bar in 1992, then onto the, then, recently opened Ministry Of Sound and then to parties across the country, most notably in Wales – where he was a regular at free parties – and in Brighton, his home since 1998. His love of re-edits, dance music’s oft-forgotten backbone, led Matt into the studio himself. His own re-edits and remixes, such as the aforementioned epoch-defining re-imagining for Ms Minogue, soon gave way to his own productions and since the floodgates opened there’s been no stopping the man known as, erm, Matthew E, Quiet Village, Sea Devils, Rekid and Radio Slave. He’s released records for Skint, Soul Jazz, Classic, Whatever We Want, and he’s worked with fellow travellers, Belgium’s The Glimmers. If Matt comes up with another two projects he’ll have enough alter egos for every day of the week. Psychologists would probably have a field day with him; mercifully, we don’t have to worry about any crisis of identity, we just get to keep on dancing.Their RA profile lists International DeeJay Gigolo Records, Buzzin Fly, Green, Ostgut Ton and 6 more.often with Kameliia, LOLSNAKE, Marcel Dettmann, none of them here that night
