“It sounds like a fairy tale.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
It sounds like a fairy tale. In 2005 29-year old OLIVER KOLETZKI presses 500 copies of his underground hit "Der Mückenschwarm". One of those white labels lands in Sven Väth's record bag and whenever he plays the track, the people go wild. Shortly after techno-king Väth signs the track on his techno empire Cocoon. "Der Mückenschwarm", already considered as a techno classic - becomes the best sold techno record of 2005, the best ever selling record on Cocoon and OLIVER KOLETZKI gets voted best newcomer of the year in prestigious Groove magazine. But one would be fooled to think that this was the start of Oliver's musical career. Since he was 12 years old, OLIVER KOLETZKI has been deeply infected with the production of music. He starts out by programming Hip-Hop beats on the C64, but quickly falls in love with more electronic sounds like breakdance and synthie-pop that he produces on the first Amiga computers. When he turns 18, he also starts to DJ in his hometown of Braunschweig and quickly becomes a regular DJ in the local clubs. In 2000 he decides to move to Berlin to study music – and the excessive Berlin nightlife. He promptly lands himself DJ gigs in smaller clubs and bars, but with the release of his first record, things change for the better. In the summer of 2005 he starts to play festivals, gets booked into the most prestigious clubs all over the world and gets asked to remix the likes of Rockers Hi-Fi, Client or Cassius. However, while superstardom is lurking around every corner, Oliver stays down to earth: "I have been making music for nearly twenty years now. That provides me with a stable base for not going nuts. Basically, I am still doing the same that I have been doing for years now: making music during the week and playing out on the weekends, even if it is on a slightly different level now." In October 2005, while still riding on the success of his debut single, Oliver directly realises one of his dreams: to have his own label. He founds Stil vor Talent, a label dedicated to pushing new artists and creating a platform for a huge variation of quality electronic dance music – from minimal techno to squeaky house to pop music. "From the beginning I wanted to give people the same chance that I've had and offer them a platform to release their music. However: the quality of the music is above everything else. Firstly, I have to like it", Oliver comments on the philosophy of his label. And he is a workaholic. He still spends hours and hours listening to demo tracks and goes out to see people play live in small clubs. Up until now, Stil vor Talent can look back on over 40 releases that include Oliver’s first artist album "Get Wasted", the über-hit "3 Tage Wach" or Oliver's latest masterpiece: his electronically influenced pop album "Großstadtmärchen". OLIVER KOLETZKI seems to have a nose for commercial success out of the underground, which Lützenkirchens ironic afterhour manifest "3 Tage Wach" is the best example for: the track becomes the best-sold techno track of 2008. In 2009 Oliver continues this success story with the release of his album "Großstadtmärchen" – an electro-pop album featuring national and international big names such as Mieze Katz (MIA), Axel Bosse or Die Raketen as well as many newcomers such as singers Juli Holz, Pyur and Fran. With "Großstadtmärchen" Oliver has managed to achieve what only few techno producers manage can do: to produce a pop album with club credibility. The singles "Hypnotized" and "U-Bahn" get nationwide airplay on the radio and when Oliver plays them in the club people sing along to the lyrics. But he wouldn't be OLIVER KOLETZKI if he didn't want to perform the album live on stage as well. In the summer 2009 he founds his band The Koletzkis with many of his old friends and the singer Fran. They have already played live at Bar 25, Watergate and Lido in Berlin as well as in Leipzig, Bern, Hamburg, Vienna and many other cities. For 2009 they have big plans: in the summer they will play the big festivals and will put Oliver’s music out there – from the clubs into the concerts halls, from the beach raves to the open-airs. Label manager, producer, DJ, bandleader: above all this, Oliver still manages to fill the clubs around the world and make people smile to his energetic DJ sets. Be in the best clubs of Europe such as London's Fabric, Berlin's Berghain or around the rest of the world: Oliver knows how to perform and connect with his audience. In March 2010 Oliver will do another Australia tour, he will tour South America again and play the infamous Thai Break festival. While rehearsing with The Koletzkis and signing new hot artists for his label Stil vor Talent, OLIVER KOLETZKI is already working on his next album. There is really no stopping him in 2010!

  • Oliver Huntemann

“Myths abound in the north when it comes to techno ground zero, and they refuse to go away.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Myths abound in the north when it comes to techno ground zero, and they refuse to go away. Oliver Huntemann is one of a handful of children of the north who, for what seems like an eternity, add an element of credence to the mythology. He does not, of course, live in a snowy forest or at the edge of the polar oceans. The sun does, on occasion, shine down on Hamburg. Nevertheless, there is a tendency towards hypothermic reduction in the rigorous efficiency of the Huntemann oeuvre. Images of cold storage warehouses, desolate heavy plant sites and bluish flesh are not entirely misplaced. Shards of German Engineering glimmer in his music, laced with persuasive logic, gruesome Darwin- ism. What remains: what works. In “Brighter than the sun“, the English music theorist Kodwo Eshun depicts the birthplace of Kraftwerk, Dusseldorf, as the “Mississippi Delta of Techno“. Huntemann’s tracks may well have dragged themselves out of the same primeval soup, but it was the far north which fired them with the necessary steel for clubland. The resulting creations are linear, free of fancy, charmingly direct. One particular London arbiter of taste sought to label the nature of his skeletal sound as “bare and striped back to the metallic core“ – whereby Huntemann’s reduction does not end in thin minimalism, it draws attention to the core itself. Less is more to the max. The only luxury is a little dirt. Whilst hordes of German producers and DJs set their satnavs for Berlin, Oliver Huntemann chose to head back home. His epicenter is, and will remain, the north. Hamburg, to be exact. This is where he produces his music and it is from here that he sets out into the world, thrilling the populous with his DJ sets. Oliver Huntemann’s concrete roots can be traced back to early techno. Had he been any younger, he would undoubtedly have sucked electronica like mother’s milk from a C64 chip. Like so many of his colleagues, his route to techno took a tour through electro and rave. He could tell the usual vet- eran tales when it comes to influences, his first record purchases, or on the subject of the good old days. Been there, done that! It was more difficult maintaining a low profile. Since 2014 Huntemann has been running the Ideal Senso label. A new chapter after more than five years Ideal Audio plus a host of sub and sister labels. As well as numerous 12 inches and almost as many remixes (for Underworld, Chemical Brothers and Depeche Mode, to name just a few). Oliver’s expertly constructed productions quickly gained him countless admirers within the techno- elite, and it wasn’t long before he struck up a devastating partnership with Dubfire. In 2008 the pair released the awesome ‘Dios’ which was followed with the first parts of their ‘Elements’ series. The highly-anticipated final installment of the ‘Elements’ series is scheduled for release later in 2014 and initial reactions indicate that ‘Aqua’ is set to be just as big as the duo’s earlier productions. In November 2011, Oliver released his fourth artist album entitled “Paranoia”. Maintaining the lofty standards already set by his previous musical output, Paranoia, received glowing reviews across the board and further cemented Oliver’s position as one of techno’s most sought-after artists. Furthermore, with guest vocals from the world- famous and highly sought-after American Robert Owens in addition to the supremely talented Danish singer Ane Trolle, Paranoia demonstrated Oliver’s enduring skill and versatility as a producer. In summer 2014, Oliver has been lining up the latest instalment of the hugely successful PLAY! series preceded by an EP release aptly entitled “PLAY! 05 EP – Blitz & Donner”. Oliver’s „PLAY! 05 live in Vienna“ contribution to the mix series follows in the esteemed footsteps of previous PLAY! CDs (D-Edge Sao Paolo, Rex Club Paris, Cielo NYC, Roxanne Parlour Melbourne) and has been recorded live from Austrias number one spot „Grelle Forelle“. Spread over 2CDs, PLAY! relays the natural energy of the dance-floor and the gig, whilst also indicating that the listening experience is in the hands of an artist who has a clear vision for his musical journeys. PLAY! is an accurate representation of the music Oliver is currently playing at his DJ gigs, and the selection reminds us why he has remained relevant for more than two decades. That’s how it is in the north, actions count, not appearances!

“Born in East Germany to a renowned photographer and a classical musician, she began DJing in 1996 and quickly rose to prominence as part of the growing underground techno scene around Leipzig and Halle/Saale.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Born in East Germany to a renowned photographer and a classical musician, she began DJing in 1996 and quickly rose to prominence as part of the growing underground techno scene around Leipzig and Halle/Saale. Her dedication to her craft and natural talent swiftly paid off, leading her to substantially shape the electronic music scene of Eastern Germany from that point on. In 2006, Mira moved to Berlin, Europe’s capital of electronic music, where she found her musical home at the legendary Bar25 and, later, Kater Blau. It was here that Mira rose to fame throughout Europe and the world, becoming a defining representative of a distinctive sound that was going global. Deep and soulful while always maintaining a continuous, sensual groove, Mira’s sprawling, hypnotic sets became the soundtrack for many an endless night. The centerpiece of Mira’s residencies at these clubs has been her yearly birthday event, ‘Katzen Tanzen auf’m Tisch,’ which runs for three days straight every December in Berlin. Curated by Mira from a selection of old friends and new faces, the series has hosted a multitude of then-unknown artists who have since gone on to tour the globe. Alongside these legendary parties, she also hosts the regular ‘Mira invites’ events, where she invites a refined selection of artists to provide the soundtrack to those long Berlin nights. Recently, Mira has been using her careful ear for talent as label curator for the Kiosk I.D. imprint, a relatively new project that perfectly complements her already-established reputation as a vital progenitor of the scene. Sifting through hundreds of demos by new and unknown artists every month, the label has become a central part of her creative practice in recent years as she seeks to push and encourage the upcoming generation of producers. In the studio, Mira often collaborates with her partner-in-crime Christopher Schwarzwälder, and the two have released a host of chart-topping singles. This partnership has since carried over to dancefloors globally, where their legendary back-to-back sets create a perfect musical dialogue between two artists who share a deep understanding and love of sound. Mira has been at the height of her game for the past twenty years, continuously shaping the sounds around her and never ceasing to push and inspire new artists. As happy playing in a small underground club in East Germany in the ’90s as she is playing to thousands of festival-goers at some of today’s biggest festivals, Mira is truly one of those artists who can be said to do it for the love of the music. Every time a new track by an undiscovered producer falls into her lap, it’s a new moment for her to fall in love with her craft all over again—and to share that love with the tens of thousands who hear her play.

“As a producer, musician, DJ and serial collaborator, Chris Schwarzwälders distinctive style of deep, restrained house is hard to pin down, but you’ll always know it’s him when you hear it.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
As a producer, musician, DJ and serial collaborator, Chris Schwarzwälders distinctive style of deep, restrained house is hard to pin down, but you’ll always know it’s him when you hear it. Born in Frankfurt am Main in the 80s, he started playing hiphop in the 90s. While making beats on his MPC2000, he dropped into Offenbach’s Robert Johnson club and fell in love with techno. In 2009, Chris moved to Berlin and started DJing at KaterHolzig, where he found a group of people who thought about music in the same way he did. In contrast to the trends of the late 00s, the sounds being made from this little paradise on Berlin’s river Spree were slower, softer, and more soulful than a lot of what was being played in clubs at the time. It was here that Chris began to cement his reputation as both a solo producer and collaborator, who was capable of bringing his trademark sounds to a whole number of side-projects - many of which have gone on to play to crowds around the globe. He joined the Feathered Sun collective in 2013, together with a group of friends including Acid Pauli, Nu, Jo.Ke and Raz O’Hara. Dreamy, groovy and often improvised, the collective represented a special kind of musical freedom in which a group of producers came together to create something new in a singular, live moment. At the same time, Chris’ friend Mira was making moves of her own, and they started to play back-to-back sets, soundtracking the legendary Monday mornings of KaterHolzig, and now, Kater Blau. The two, who are both residents at Kater Blau, have now been playing together internationally for almost a decade, and have formed a common musical understanding that translates throughout every one of their sets - deep, clubby and melancholic. This partnership has also carried on into the studio, where they have collaborated on numerous hits. His most light-hearted side comes out in collaboration with Iannis Ritter, where the two musicians take on a weirder, more melodic & electro approach than Chris’ other proejcts. If you were to ask him, Chris would describe himself as reserved, logical, rational, melancholic and humorous. Which is why you’d never hear him telling you about the hundreds of nightclubs and festivals he’s played around the globe, or the number of hits he’s had with his productions. If you’re lucky though, Chris might tell you about his favourite synthesizers, and get lost in a conversation all about electronics and sound. Which is exactly where Chris wants to be - lost in electronics and sound.

Somewhere between stardust and strobe lights — inviting dancers to close their eyes, open their hearts, and get lost in music. With three decades of rave culture and a decade behind the decks, Mimi Love takes her audience on an electro-nomadic journey. Her sound is shaped by the world around her, shifting from groovy tunes to grounding house — always with deep feeling and a sincere vision. Her ability to weave different genres into a captivating, hypnotic musical experience is what makes her unique. Mimi Love plays house music for dancers who love to dance and lovers who love to love. Her journey began at the legendary Bar25 in Berlin, where she spun dreamy downbeat tracks — until the "four-on-the-floor" sound stole her heart. With this newfound passion, Mimi Love launched into a new dimension. Today, she tours Europe, the Americas, and the Pacific, while her roots remain firmly planted in Berlin. From Katerblau to her ties with the Bachstelzen Collective and unforgettable sets at festivals like Garbicz and Fusion, Mimi Love consistently brings her “Love Sound” to the crowd. Mimi Love is more than music — it’s an experience. Her sets are a cocktail of exotic sounds, sprinkled with disco stardust. Even in her early years — adding stilt-walking magic and hands-on carpentry to Berlin’s hedonistic scene — she infused everything with wild spirit and elegant charm. Today, she radiates her inner light, blending influences into something uniquely her own. Genres are just boxes — Mimi Love plays moods.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Dj and Producer Moritz Rausch aka Rauschhaus hails from the town Kiel, near Hamburg, Germany. As a passionate musician he plays a variety of instruments, and concentrates on different genres of music. Making music always took a big place in his life and was always part of it. He started to produce electronic music in the year 2009. Seeking the excitement and the Energy of the clubscene in Kiel and Hamburg he got fascinated by the power of House-Music with all its different styles and faces and his horizons began to broaden. 2016 was an important year for him. After years of experimenting he finally developed his unique style of music, full of trippy atmospheres, paired with melancholy and warm dreamy patterns. People often say that his productions are dark and bright at the same time. Releases on highly regarded labels like Steyoyoke, Parquet Records, Einmusika or Traum Schallplatten, speak for themselves. Moritz plays lots of venues, to more and more acclaim. His love of rich, energetic club music full of texture, life and heart propels him to work more and more. His work as a Dj allows him to bring his style of music to an increasingly large audience.

“Plattentaschen kann man kaufen, Haltung nicht!”

    their own biography

    the whole biography

About Joseph Disco : Joseph Disco’s early education in beat science came as a resident DJ in Cologne’s legendary club Playground, where his regular opportunities to manipulate the dancefloor like a puppeteer quickly drew him into the sphere of music production. Shortly after returning to his native Munich in 2005, he released his first project on the label: Great Stuff Recordings, and later on labels like Stil vor Talent and Platform B, both as an solo artist and with different projects. With his name established amongst electronic aficionados, Joseph has gone on to entrench himself on the scene as a steadfast proliferator of high-quality works. Sporting an ever-growing cadre of solo releases and remix work on a multitude of labels, Joseph Disco has only given a tantalizing taste of his true potential. He has played countless gigs in and out of Germany on clubs like: KaterBlau ,Sisyphos, Wilde Renate, Rummelsbucht, Südpol, Club Charlotte and Hive in Zurich. He has played Rave on Snow and the Berlin Loveparade, Fusion Festival , Wilde Möhre Festival, Praerie Festival , MoynMoyn Festival , Klangtherapy Festival, Off the Radar , Grüne Sonne and many more. their own biography

    the whole biography
Influenced by classical and acoustic music, Urem developed a love for electronic sounds in his hometown of Berlin. His passion for organic elements and spheres unfolds in a great variety of his productions and sets. Behind the mixer he playfully combines melodic sounds with progressive, deeply humming bass lines and takes the dancing crowd on an incomparable journey of ecstasy and emotion. He creates an instantly recognizable sound that combines genres such as downtempo, deep house and progressive. There is always huge energy on the dancefloor. For Urem the human-linking aspect of music is essential, so he is a member of the Slowtribe collective, which is involved in creating events in the Berlin club scene. On the way, he has played in many well-known clubs such as Kater Blau, Mensch Meier, Ritter Butzke and About Blank.

„Konfusia is a German techno DJ and producer based in Bremen in the north of Gerrmany. Her name is derivered from the word ‚confusing‘ which describes also well the atmosphere and groves of her music style. At the same time, her tracks show a straight line and well-organized structure, while they are energetic and powerful. They are based on clear baselines and strong, hard kicks, contrary paired with sensitive, harmonic and often soft melodies and deep synths scattered with apt psy elements."
