“His musical catalog covers themes and concepts regarding modern science, genetics, healthcare, technology and their effects on the human condition.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
His musical catalog covers themes and concepts regarding modern science, genetics, healthcare, technology and their effects on the human condition. His earliest productions appeared in 1987 as a collaboration with Lou Robinson (of Scan 7) under the group name Nasa with “Time To Party” and “Cant Stop Now”. Stingray’s solo productions appeared later under the Urban Tribe moniker on Carl Craig’s Planet E Communications label (“Covert Action”). 1998’s debut of “The Collapse Of Modern Culture” on James Lavelle’s Mo’Wax label turned Urban Tribe into a collaborative effort, adding Carl Craig, Anthony “Shake” Shakir and Moodymann to the group. His most notable connection, however, is through the iconic electro outfit of James Stinson and Gerald Donald aka Drexciya. As Mystic Tribe A.I., Stingray’s early credit was on Stinson’s (as The Other People Place) “Sunday Night Live at the Laptop Cafe” 12” via Clone Records. Further meetings with the duo earned him the name “Drexciyan DJ Stingray”, subsequently becoming Stinson and Donald’s official touring DJ. Donning his emblematic balaclava, his cyborg-like DJ sets continue to leave audiences captivated globally for decades. This skilled approach to the dancefloor gives him quite the in-demand gig schedule, appearing at landmark festivals and venues like Tresor Berlin, Glastonbury, Dekmantel, Movement Festival (Detroit), Making Time (USA), Sonar Festival (Barcelona), Berghain, Dimensions Festival, and Berlin Atonal. Stingray’s career continued on as DJ Stingray 313 (and as Stingray313, respectively), after Stinson’s passing in 2002 in respect of the Drexciyan legacy. His ever-unique productions have seen releases on Mahogani Music, Warp Records, Rephlex (“Misinformation Campaign” EP), Tresor (Kern, Vol. 4), and Unknown To The Unknown (Imping Is Easy). Collaborative EPs on WéMè Records with Gerald Donald and Penelope Martin were released in 2012 under the enigmatic NRSB-11 moniker. DJ Stingray 313’s music and sets are met with high praise in the media, with constant appearances in DJ Mag, Resident Advisor, Mixmag, The Wire, Pitchfork and Fact Magazine, as well as mixes on BBC radio. His Micron Audio imprint also continues the representation of his futuristic template, embodying his signature sound of electro and techno. Aside from creating Micron as home to release his music – see the inimitable “Electronic Countermeasures” EP – he releases music from emerging artists in accord with his vision including Galaxian, Ctris, Loka and 6SISS. DJ Stingray 313 remains a steadfast figure in his uncompromising sound, craftily setting the soundtrack to the not-too-distant future. – J. Howard

  • Nicole.

Tbilisi, Georgia · 9 bookings since Aug 2025

“Born in Batumi and based in Berlin, Nicole has been immersed in music from a young age.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Born in Batumi and based in Berlin, Nicole has been immersed in music from a young age. The Georgian artist and producer attended music school as a child and was a drummer in a band. Guided by music as a creative medium, she started her career at the age of 17 as part of a duo named Body Thrills. After going solo, Nicole soon discovered her personal approach to DJing. Since then, she has played her energetic and emotive sets in most of the clubs in her own country and made strong appearances on the European scene. Nicole’s style is impossible to be framed as her sets are shaped by the energy she receives from the dancefloor. She equally enjoys both old-school acid techno and intelligent minimal sounds. Since her performance on Boiler Room in famed nightclub Bassiani to celebrate its reopening following the rave protests against the raids and shutdowns of Tbilisi’s clubs that gained worldwide media attention in 2018, Nicole has been referred to as one of Georgia’s leading DJs and producers. Not content with just DJing, Nicole was also working as a promoter at Tbilisi’s legendary art space and nightclub, Cafe Gallery. 2020 was a year of accomplishments for Nicole as her talents didn’t go unnoticed by prominent DJs and producers beyond Georgia’s shores. She released her debut solo EP Inside on Marco Shuttle’s techno label, Eerie Records. Her track ‘Luna’ was also featured on Nina Kraviz’s first compilation album Hot Steel - a project that was started during the pandemic to support up-and-coming artists - released via Kraviz’s label трип (pronounced 'trip').
Their RA profile lists Eerie Records, Trip, Partisan and Vacuity Records.

  • Sister Zo

“After getting her start performing at underground poetry events in her hometown, she eventually moved on to playing live beat sets during open mic nights at one of KC's most pivotal queer nightlife institutions of the 21st century, the Uptown Arts Bar.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
After getting her start performing at underground poetry events in her hometown, she eventually moved on to playing live beat sets during open mic nights at one of KC's most pivotal queer nightlife institutions of the 21st century, the Uptown Arts Bar. Occasionally she'd wander upstairs to Niche, a 100-cap club with a legendary sound system known as the Meta HiFi. There she got her first taste of the sounds of the UK bass continuum and the LA beat scene, with its prominent figureheads like Flying Lotus, Ras G and Shlohmo. Ever the nomad, she would spend her mid-twenties traveling, flitting between cities like New York and LA and the mountainous terrain of the Colorado Rockies. At 26 years old, she left behind a stable career in psychotherapy to pursue her creative dreams. This would lead her back to Niche where a ravenous desire to evolve as an artist connected her with Peter Anthony, aka Coughman, who ran the independent KC collective and label, Intelligent Sound. Soon Anthony encouraged Zo and her friends Mazzy Mann and Lorelei Kretsinger to build a platform of their own. In October 2017, the three of them founded the UN/TUCK queer/trans collective and record label. Over the next two years, they tirelessly built UN/TUCK into an internationally recognized platform, releasing their own music and organizing shows and parties curated specifically for trans and queer people in Kansas City. Under the name BTRFLY, Zo produced her own LA-inspired beats and rapped over them in her sets. As she delved further into the realms of Chicago house, early 2000s UK dubstep, and the hybrid sounds of Hessle Audio, Hyperdub and Idle Hands, she discovered a profound love for DJing and a different kind of production. Now based in Brooklyn, she has made definitive creative statements in 2022, releasing her debut EP, Screw Cheek, on acclaimed UK club label, Scuffed Recordings, and a follow-up EP, Freak Shift, on Martyn's hallowed 3024 imprint, as well as a slew of national bookings at Bunker NY, Texture Detroit, Sole Rehab, clubs like Nowadays, Good Room and Kremwerk, festivals like Slingshot and Honcho Campout and many more on the horizon. It's clear that Zo has solidified her place as an emerging artist firmly in her own lane, with tracks that span the continuum of UK bass and North American techno and house, and mixes that seamlessly capture and defy her genres of interest, blending deep dark percussive bass and broken beat with blistering techno, psychedelic house, east coast club and more.
