“For aspiring DJs and producers, or indeed anyone who appreciates a good story, the genesis of Palms Trax couldn’t have read any dreamier.”
their own biography
the whole biography
For aspiring DJs and producers, or indeed anyone who appreciates a good story, the genesis of Palms Trax couldn’t have read any dreamier. You know the one; curious yet naive son of the English Riviera lands a job at one of London’s leading record stores and discovers the masters of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Later, stumbling around Berlin, his primitive attempts to emulate the sound of his newfound heroes accidentally land him a bona fide dance floor hit. A gradual but steady stream of EPs courtesy of Dutch dance music powerhouse Dekmantel have allowed his productions to blossom in richer, smoother directions. On 2015’s ‘In Gold’ EP, and throughout the following year’s ‘High Point on Low Ground’, halcyon hallmarks of house - euphoric piano lines, bubbling acid and luminescent keys - are shot through with Donaldson’s tough, distinctive percussion. It’s that same connection with Dekmantel that has encouraged Donaldson to quickly, impressively evolve as a DJ of some distinctive taste and talent. A memorable performance at Dekmantel’s flagship Amsterdam festival in 2015 captured open hearts, lost minds and aching feet. Since then, the sound of Palms Trax has been a fixture on their enormous main stage, drifting seamlessly between vintage house, esoteric disco and the various shades of a bubbling UK underground he has helped define. Occasional back-to-back performances with the likes of Hunee, Young Marco, Antal and Midland, all DJs regularly credited for their breadth of musical knowledge and sheer versatility, speak volumes for Donaldson’s DJing nous, which has lead him on an international trail; from South America to Australia, and from Panorama Bar to Concrete, Contact, De School, and Lux. Donaldson has also-amassed a patient, open-minded following with his cult monthly radio show, the decidedly less-than-culinary ‘Cooking with Palms Trax’, broadcast on Berlin Community Radio since 2015. On each show, Donaldson takes a deep, vinyl-led drive into his adopted history, fostering a level of trust and shared curiosity that has allowed him to helm all-night sets under the ‘Cooking with Palms Trax’ moniker. Into 2018, he’ll be holding down residencies in Boston, Glasgow and Bordeaux, as well as inviting like-minded DJs into his metaphorical kitchen, throughout a series of self-curated evenings into early mornings of music.Their RA profile lists Rush Hour Music, Secretsundaze, Dekmantel, Lobster Theremin and 1 more.often with Suze Ijó, Carlita, Rampa, none of them here that night

Experiencing from the beginning, step by step, the evolution of the electronic scene in Montevideo and influenced since very young by the most avant-garde sounds, nowadays there’s no doubt whatsoever about his being the most relevant model in the Uruguayan scene, after the great influence he has already stamped in several generations of local artists. Certain dj’s manage to go beyond the barrier of just playing music and create an atmosphere with a different energy, a result of mixing good music selection, according to each moment, and an exquisite technique to mix it. These are two features that have marked Eduardo Cardozo aka DJ KOOLT and MR. KOOLT since his very beginnings. Dj Koolt is one of the greatest exponents of the Uruguayan underground scene and a faithful collector of vinyl records. He also earned an European recognition by playing in many great parties such as FUSE (Brussels), Closer (Kiev), Club Eden (Bucharest), Closer (Kiev), Cartulis Music (London), Concrete (Paris), RED58 (Barcelona), OHM and Hoppetosse (Berlin), Goa (Rome) and much more. Playing for 20 friends at an after-hours or for 1000 people at some club, one can easily recognize Edu by a natural characteristic of his: the connection and the trance he is able to create in his audience. In 2013, he and two friends opened Phonotheque, the only club 100% devoted to Underground electronics in Uruguay and one of the best in the region. Few months after opening, Phonotheque became an important reference point at a national and international level and promoting their own style and distancing itself from conventional electronic music.often with Vladimir Ivkovic, DJ G., DJ Stingray 313, none of them here that night

“Owning records is easy, playing them, easier.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Owning records is easy, playing them, easier. Reading a room, knowing what lands, stitching tracks into something that moves a crowd - that's where the craft separates itself from the collection. The tapestry of becoming a real DJ is an art form few truly master. Step forth, Tia Cousins, London-based selector, radio broadcaster, and self-proclaimed BoG Witch who has made a name for herself by digging through the cracks others overlook. In an era drowning in information, she's carved out a niche collecting the in-between sounds - experimental gear, obscure niches, the old and the new - amassing a collection of music that frankly shouldn't belong to someone her age. It's one that has won her plenty of recognition in all the right circles, from NTS to Balamii, the Tate Gallery to Brilliant Corners. Tia's extensive knowledge threads together EBM, Italo, Techno, Synth-Pop, Post-punk and House, leaving no stone unturned. Learning to DJ in her university bedroom after a friend left their decks behind, she's refined her approach over the years: finding moments of silence to transition, and keeping things simple with minimal effects. These dizzyingly eclectic yet well-sequenced selections have turned heads on radio stations around the world, most recently landing her a monthly residency on Bristol's Noods Radio. Her well-curated radio shows have become a calling card - a space for music she actually wants to listen to at home, rather than the usual ‘club’ fare. Reaching deep into jazz, krautrock, ambient, and the experimental fringes that keep dancefloors guessing, she's also cleared a few floors in her time, "I quite like doing that - filtering out the crowd so that only those who are vibing remain." Tia's also turned her unique ears to A&R, heading up the musical direction for the Ransom Note's record label, as well as co-parenting the ambient and plant cassette label Music To Watch Seeds Grow By. Born from a sober stint spent hyperfixating on gardening and sprouting seeds, the cassette label pairs ambient music with the slow, mindful art of horticulture. The past couple of years have been huge for the young selector, and she can be found performing with the likes of Optimo, Decius, Lena Willikens, Helena Hauff and Vladimir Ivkovic. This year she's debuted at Panorama Bar, Convenanza and Waterworks, toured Asia, alongside regular appearances at Field Maneuvers, Love International, Golden Lion, Bugged Out and Watching Trees - where she's soundtracked silent films, played main stage sets whilst co-curating the The Bush of Ghosts ambient area. When you add in mixes for Erol Alkan's Phantasy, BICEP, the fabric International Women's Day series, as well as being featured on Resident Advisor's mix of the day, it’s safe to say Tia is quietly earning acclaim that even the most seasoned of artists would yearn for.often with Chez de Milo, Il Bosco, FFAN, none of them here that night

Higher Intelligence Agency (aka HIA) was formed by Bobby Bird in Birmingham in the early 90’s during the heady days of HIA's live electronic music club Oscillate in Birmingham where he was also resident DJ and technical director. Here HIA and other emerging acts developed live performance for immersive environments, bespoke sound systems & attuned audiences. Artists including HIA, Autechre, Biosphere & Orbital gave early live per- formances. Early HIA tracks featured on Warp Records Artificial Intelligence 2 and Beyond Records Ambient Dub compilations. A debut LP Colourform’was released in 1993 and a second album, Freefloater' in 1995. Collaboration albums with Biosphere, Deep Space Network & Pete Namlook followed, plus an album Nothing as System Error (1997) . Post 2000, while continuing to play occasional live HIA concerts, (incl Detroit Electronic Music festival 2007) and producing HIA remixes and tracks for compilations, Bird was also a member of Modulate AV Collective releasing a 5.1 DVD for home cinema. He also started working with MAX, developing spacial audio for multi speaker installations & performances at festival and galleries and in 2016 begun working on Watt’s Orbit, making detailed recordings of 250 year old beam engines & developing them into compositions for multi-spacial live performance through an octophonic sound system. In 2020 came the Higher Intelligence Agency release Discatron, an E.P. of new material displaying the unique HIA signature sound. In addition, Freefloater and Colourform had vinyl re releases, accompanied by Preform, an album bringing together tracks from compi-lations plus previously unreleased tracks written around the time of Colourform. In 2022, after multiple live performances of Watt’s Orbit, a stereo version was released as the album, Song Of The Machine. 2022 - 2024 HIA returned to regular live performances, including at Glastonbury IICON Stage, Houghton, Freerotation, Terraforma, (IT) Ozora (HU),Positive Education (FR), Inner Varnika (Australia), Dekmantel (NL)Rural (Japan), Dokufest (Kosovo) Modem (Croatia) as well as at his own microcosmic mini festival, HIA Wildflower Camp.often with 3. She first gained attention by founding the underground rave NOCOMPLY in Tokyo and earned international recognition with her 2023 debut EP Soleil on Hole and Holland. In 2025, she released the hazy, acid-infused EP I Wanna Feel You on Australian label Animals Dancing. Later that year, she released her debut LP In Dream on Dutch label Music From Memory, a lush, intimate soundscape of digital synths, acid bass, and whisper-soft vocals. Drawing inspiration from nature, emotion, and quiet moments of wonder, the album blends balearic moods with dancefloor energy, capturing curiosity, optimism, and radiant positivity. As a DJ, Bailey has performed at renowned venues including Panorama Bar in Berlin, Womb in Tokyo, Klymax in Bali, Love International in Croatia, and Fuji Rock Festival, with regular appearances across Europe and Asia.Their RA profile lists Animals Dancing, Hole and Holland and Second Circle.Recently at Daidarabotchi Studio, arkaoda Berlin, ://about blank · often with Tornado Wallace, Fantastic Man, Suzanne Ciani, none of them here that night
