CC’s career has given her the perfect creative outlets to express her first love – be it DJing around the globe, holding down a regular radio show, or curating her acclaimed First Light compilations. On her road from radio host to warm-up DJ to headliner, CC has never once compromised on her sound. Slow, pumping, romantic, playful, uplifting – these are the feels that people around the world have experienced listening to CC in action. Ultimately it’s about connecting with other music lovers on a physical and emotional level: less chin-stroking, more dancing! You could be chilling in a listening bar in her adopted home town of Lisbon, getting freaky in the late hours at Sub Club, DJOON or Good Room, or losing your mind during a headline slot at major festivals like Kala, Pitch Music & Arts, Love International, Glastonbury or Sonar by Night – even on the biggest stages, it always feels like CC is playing just for you. She transmits this feeling regularly over the airwaves as well, appearing on Rinse FM, NTS, BBC6, RA and Dublab, and making multiple appearances for Boiler Room. CC keeps loyal connections with the Australian scene and the musicians she meets on her international travels, channelling these into her First Light compilations. Now two volumes deep, the series has already given a platform to diverse artists from across Australia, Japan, Zambia, Indonesia, Canada and Sweden. Perhaps that’s the real fundamental of CC’s path as an artist – the space she creates for others. It’s reflected in the reminder she often gives after a gig: that the DJ just plays the music, and is no more or less important than the security guard, the bartender or the cleaner. It’s a humility that translates on a global scale – and you’re included too. In July 2023, CC:DISCO! released her debut EP on Erol Alkan’s independent imprint Phantasy Sound. Both ‘Chez Moi’ (featuring Confidence Man) and ‘Out Of Your Mind’ were instant hits, garnering impressive international streaming figures and receiving widespread DJ and radio support. The EP was played in festival sets by Shanti Celeste, Job Jobse, Palms Trax, Bradley Zero and others. Heard on Beats In Space (US), Triple J (Australia) and the BBC (UK) in shows from Sally C, Moxie and Sarah Storey, the EP was a summer hit in Europe and has also taken CC on a sold-out tour of her beloved Australia. Founder and A&R of Life and Death, Manfredi Romano grew up tour-managing punk bands and organising left-field music events in Italy around the turn of the Millennium. Having completed his studies in computer science at the University of Pisa, Manfredi went on to form DAZE, Italy’s first booking agency solely devoted to electronic music. Drawing on two decades of experience behind the scenes, Romano shifted focus  in 2010, establishing himself as a DJ in his own right. As a performer, Tennis valiantly showcases an astute ability to create intimacy in even the vastest of gatherings. As a respected producer, Romano consistently channels his past relationships with post-rock luminaries such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise and Fugazi into intricately-synthesised electronic constellations. Known for his Artist Management capabilities is responsible for breaking artists like Tale of Us, Mind Against and Carlita. Fine chef and restaurant owner, Tennis splits his time between Paris and Miami, where he enjoys riding motorbikes, collecting vintage action-figures and building upon his vinyl record collection - which now numbers over eleven-thousand strong. https://www.facebook.com/tennisdj https://twitter.com/dj_tennis https://soundcloud.com/djtennisdjtennis

    the whole biography
Frinda di Lanco is a name that resonates in the underground music scene, a multifaceted talent whose career as a DJ, record digger, radio host, and label manager has carved out a unique niche in the ever-evolving landscape of sound. With an ear finely tuned to the subtleties of rhythm and a passion for unearthing hidden gems, di Lanco has become a beacon for those seeking authenticity in a world often saturated with the superficial. As a DJ, di Lanco is a master curator, weaving together eclectic sets that traverse genres and eras. Her ability to blend the familiar with the obscure creates an atmosphere that feels both intimate and expansive, inviting listeners on a journey through sound. Each performance is a testament to her deep knowledge of music history, as she seamlessly transitions from forgotten disco cuts to contemporary electronic anthems, all while maintaining a palpable energy that keeps the dance floor alive. Frinda di Lanco’s tour itinerary reads like a love letter to the global dance music scene, with stops at some of the most revered venues and festivals around the world. From the sprawling fields of Fusion Festival, to the vibrant atmosphere of Primavera Sound to the sandy beaches of Boom festival, di Lanco has a knack for turning any stage into a communal celebration of sound. In Berlin, she’s a familiar face at the city’s legendary hotspots like Italorama, Cocktail d’Amore, and Horse Meat Disco, where her eclectic selections resonate with the city’s avant-garde spirit. The Sound Metaphors and Fandango parties, known for their infectious energy, are another canvas for her artistry. Beyond playing in her hometown, di Lanco’s reach extends to the pulsating nightlife of Sunday Sunday in Mexico City, San Francisco’s very own Bar Part Time, Copenhagen’s Jolene Bar, Bellafesta Dublin, the underground vibes of Tag Chengdu in China as to the audiophile setting of Club Kaiku in Helsinki. But di Lanco’s talents extend far beyond the decks. As a record digger, she possesses an insatiable curiosity that drives her to scour thrift stores, flea markets, and dusty basements from Los Angeles to Beijing and from Oslo to Palermo in search of vinyl treasures. This dedication to the craft not only enriches her own sets but also informs her work as a label manager. At the helm of her own Avec Plaisir imprint, she is providing a platform for her very personal visions in conjunction with her partner Hendrik Stein. Her keen eye for talent and commitment to quality over quantity has positioned her label as a respected force in the industry. In her role as a radio host, di Lanco brings her infectious enthusiasm to the airwaves with her bi-monthly show „Music From Mullets“ on Cashmere Radio. Crafting shows that are as much about storytelling as they are about music, each broadcast is a carefully curated experience, blending thematic explorations, biographical facts and live recordings that reflect her diverse influences. It’s here that her personality shines through, as she connects with listeners on a personal level, sharing anecdotes and insights that make the music feel alive. Frinda di Lanco is not just a DJ or a label manager; she is a cultural architect, shaping the sonic landscape with her unique vision. In a time when the music industry often prioritizes trends over substance, di Lanco stands as a reminder of the power of passion and authenticity. Her journey is a celebration of the art of music itself, and she continues to push boundaries and explore new horizons.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Bold, joyful and ever-curious, DJ and producer Kamma's creative world is fueled by her sharp intuition and a solid musical foundation. She draws inspiration from her roots as an Amsterdam native, her Chinese-Indonesian heritage and a deep familial connection with club culture. Kamma’s parents were professional DJs in the Dutch capital's club circuit in the 80s and 90s, and she grew up amongst their 30,000 jazz, funk, disco and house record collection. Kamma's musical education continued at the iconic Trouw, where DJs mixed straightforward house and techno with rarer cuts from virtually every genre. These influences formed the blueprint for the experimentation Kamma explores in her own sets, moving from warm uplifting house into trippy, percussive techno and landing on all manner of euphoric sounds along the way. Ever loyal to her Eastside roots, Kamma co-created Amsterdam's first high fidelity listening bar Doka, alongside frequent collaborator Masalo. The duo also runs the Brighter Days event and mix series, which celebrates an open-minded dance floor approach and platforms the local community as well as legendary guests from further afield. In 2023 Kamma & Masalo released a Brighter Days compilation on Rush Hour, featuring obscurities, previously unreleased music from upcoming talent, as well as their own K&M edits. Kamma has leant her sensitivity and keen ear to solo productions too, a natural progression from practising piano and jamming on a Casio synthesiser as a child. Her debut single, ‘Snow In April’, which featured on Antal’s Rainbow Disco Club compilation, weaves abstracted electronics and ambient through transfixing loops of downtempo synths. Now Kamma’s productions are changing gears – with club-focused tracks on the horizon in 2024 and 2025. Her performances are set to follow suit, leaning more heavily into an electronic aesthetic whilst remaining true to her rock solid artistic foundation.

    the whole biography
An integral part of the Amsterdam scene, Masalo’s abundant creativity blends sophistication with a solid dose of rebelliousness. His sets shift effortlessly between house, techno, hi-NRG, and disco, while incorporating his own tracks and gems from decades of digging. Formative years at Amsterdam institutions like Trouw and Paradiso placed Masalo in the thick of the city’s underground dance community. He cites his family as an even earlier inspiration: jam sessions and a passion for analog machines from his father, a love of dancing and cultural influences from his Japanese mother, and hip-hop and turntablism courtesy of his brother. Extending the family feeling, Masalo has continued to build community through the Brighter Days event and compilation series he runs alongside his longtime musical partner Kamma. A prolific producer, 2017 saw Masalo’s first official release; a remix of Bassekou Kouyate’s Jama Ko, turning the Malian soul ballad into a hypnotically energetic house tune. He then joined the illustrious ranks at Rush Hour – a label and crew that has been integral to his creative journey – releasing his debut EP ‘New Dance’ in 2019, followed by collaborations with Soichi Terada, Jamie 3:26, and Palms Trax. His status as a sure-fire tastemaker goes beyond the official catalog, with unreleased edits like his Acid Dream version of Oliver N’Goma’s ‘Lina’ and a rework of Prince’s ‘Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic’ becoming sought-after club anthems. The next evolution of his artistry takes the shape of a live show, which he will debut on Dekmantel’s formidable main stage this year. The live set delves into the more electronic spectrum of his signature sound — a high-octane journey of lush synths, hard-hitting drum patterns, and euphoric arpeggio basslines, blending new material with nods to his beloved classics. His set-up is called The Trinity — a custom-made rig, designed and built in collaboration with new school architects. Through a dedicated process of building, programming, and mastering The Trinity, Masalo improvises in conversation with the crowd, ensuring no two performances sound exactly the same. Studio renditions of several tracks on The Trinity will be released by Rush Hour, Safe Trip, and Dekmantel in late 2024. Get in touch: chiara@octopus-agents.com

  • Roman Flügel

    Berlin · 5 bookings since Sep 2025

“It all started with one of these Chicago Trax compilations on DM/STREETSOUNDS.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
It all started with one of these Chicago Trax compilations on DM/STREETSOUNDS. As a reaction to his thirsting for more of these crazed beats from overseas and with a view to his tight budget, the greatest hits of these expensive imported 12” singles were soon released in the form of a compendium. This opened Pandora’s box, for very young Roman Flügel, too. Innocently given to him by his elder brother as a present (“He probably had no idea what he was about to unleash and just wanted to give me some new music”), the dazzle of the unrefined and feverish dance music, furnished with just a few drum machines and inexpensive synthesizers, turned the whole world upside down for the cultivated music pupil from Darmstadt. After several evenings at Sven Väth’s renowned Omen club, few kilometres further up north, and his mind was made up. Memories of the atmosphere at the legendary Warp or Underground Resistance label nights has put a smile on Flügel’s delicate face ever since – a man who would also make a fine figure as a literature lecturer, poet or thinker. “LFO’s bass, once they had set up their massive range of equipment, was unbelievable,” he says laughing. It didn’t take long before the well-trained ear tried out more than just classical melodies. Little by little, he collected a vast array of equipment, bringing forth his first sound experiments and enough courage to give a demo tape to indie fan (that’s what music magazines like Zillo used to call people like that back then) Jörn Elling Wuttke. The latter was a well-known face in Darmstadt’s music scene and often enthused about new electronic music. In him he had found the right partner and Wuttke could hardly believe his spellbound ears. DJs und Delirium record sellers Ata and Heiko MSO from Frankfurt felt the same. At first they thought someone was making fun of them. It sounded too authentic and unique. The music Flügel and Wuttke had presented to their label Ongaku and Klang Elektronik as Acid Jesus or, rather, Alter Ego, couldn’t possibly come from the little neighbouring town Darmstadt. In Frankfurt, that kind of sound made people think of Detroit. The rest is history and forged an almost holy alliance. Speaking of holy: a humid summer’s day, a crate of beer and a studio in a garage sufficed to found a new label by the name of Playhouse for Holy Garage and to create that certain “surprise” which still excites house clubs today. Comrades-in-arms such as Isolée, Don Disco alias Losoul and Ricardo Villalobos made the label the number one address. So they went on, history was written and the nineties flew by in a jiffy. His degree course in music was in the way: “It seemed obsolete somehow, just to be analyzing church sonatas all day when there were so many interesting things going on around me. When, on top of that, the only semester on modern music was cancelled that year, I decided to leave the university.” Luckily for us all, actually. The electronic intellectual’s productivity is virtually unparalleled and Roman Flügel, the producer, DJ and label co-owner of Ongaku/Klang/Playhouse has meanwhile become a gentle giant in the German electro scene. With his own personal style and the privilege of being independent from the usual constraints of the music industry. A free spirit instead of a sheep. His solo project as Soylent Green (see the latest “La Forca Del Destino” compendium) is just as much of a must as his Alter Ego project with Wuttke, rigorously affirming techno down to the very last detail. He and Wuttke also count as techno Teuton Sven Väth’s favourite producers, who booked the team to produce a series of his own music. Roman’s work as Eight Miles High and Ro 70 show his quieter side, while the remixes (e.g. for Daft Punk, The Human League, Primal Scream, Pet Shop Boys, Kylie Minogue) and tracks under his own name (just think of the Arcade rave of “Geht’s Noch”) are light dancefloor affirmations. Roman also champions the cause of this in his job as an entertainer. Tried and tested by the stadium and pop hit “Rocker”, Flügel and Wuttke can be proud of being able to set any auditorium in the world on fire with their live set. DJ Roman Flügel can say the same of himself. Be it his sets at Offenbach’s Robert-Johnson, Amnesia on Ibiza or Berlin’s Tollhaus Berghain/Panorama Bar: instead of disappearing in trivial and meaningless elevator clicks, he prefers to make his way through 20 years of “rave”. Contemporary music that includes bleeping house or quirky techno meets futuristic Italo-disco and electronica devoid of all provenance. There was a time when you’d call that kind of sound acid house, released cheaper by the dozen on compilations. It all turns full circle again. Gerd Janson 2009
