Courtesy is a Danish artist and DJ who lives and works in Berlin. She is As a DJ, Courtesy has toured extensively around the world, and played venues and festivals such as Berghain/Panorama Bar, Tresor, Sonar, Primavera, Club to Club, Atonal and Sustain-Release. She maintains a residency on NTS Radio and is the founder and artistic director of the interdisciplinary arts platform Against Interpretation Club fka. Kulør, curating epochal music releases, publications and events. With a fluid relationship between her work as a DJ, composer, performer and visual artist, Courtesy’s practice is about meeting people. To congregate with an interesting crowd on a dance floor, with a subject during one of her photoshoots, organizing choral performances, or a gathering under the banner of Against Interpretation Club. As an artist, Courtesy has exhibited and performed at CCA Berlin, Treize, Den Fri Udstillingsbygning, Conde Duque Contemporary Culture Center, Arken and Schinkel Pavillon (upcoming). It would be wrong to start talking about where Ouissam comes from – after a decade in Asia, he’s now something of a regional entity that has managed to change the dance music scene wherever he has laid down roots. His approach to a dance floor is as simple as it is intuitive and elegant: nothing that can make a room shudder with joy is barred from his selections. As the founder of Hong Kong’s Cliche Records, he was one of the first in that city to cultivate a disco-house-techno synthesis that shifted the understanding of what could be danced to there. He went on to create the magnetic Homesick and Fragrant Harbour labels, before suddenly setting his sights on Hanoi in Vietnam, where he has established the dance mecca Savage where he runs the monthly queer night Snug. And on top of all that, he found time to curate the coveted Equation festival, now entering its fifth year. But beyond his achievements, you find a DJ with a pure love and appreciation for the power of music, and one that has learnt how to harness this love into something that can be transmitted to his dance floors. Sedef Adasï has spent years refining a style that is both unpredictable and precise—shaped by instinct rather than formula. Her sets go beyond simple selections, evolving into a language between artist and audience. With elegance and ease, she moves fluidly between house, acid, and rhythmic textures, blending raw energy with refinement to create a sound that feels both dynamic and defined. Her sets unfold in real time, guided by the rhythm, movement, and shifting energy of the dancefloor. Born and raised in Augsburg, Adasï resisted the allure of major urban centers, using her local foundation to create something new for her city. This decision led to HAMAM Nights, the party series she launched in 2017 that has since gained international resonance. From the intimate City Club Augsburg to Berghain’s Panorama Bar, Hammam Nights returns to the essence of club culture, creating spaces of warmth, unity, and collective energy. A resident at both Munich’s Blitz Club and Berghain / Panorama Bar, Adasï sculpts nights that are unrepeatable and deeply felt. She moves through sound with instinctive precision, creating an ongoing dialogue with the dancefloor.
