Cook Strummer is a Belgian artist whose music is defined by the right combination of rhythms and melodies, transcended by his own voice. It draws on an evocative blend of the organic and the electronic, a fresh mix of drum machines, guitars and synthesizers and channels his country’s famous cold wave movement but adorned with elements of downtempo, house and progressive. Now Berlin based, his first album “The Fall” was released in 2018 on LOK Recordings. Since then, he released a well supported EP - “Some Feelings” - on Mood Music records in October 2019, and got early support from Laurent Garnier, Adam Port, Mandy, Ame and many others. Releases are planned for the next months to come on institutions. jass:minute, is a queer, Syrian-Italian human rights activist and bass music DJ based in Berlin. She co-founded the event series MUCHA and next to that advocate for safer nightlife, raising awareness and promoting diversity-friendly practices in the event industry. Her completion of the Femme Bass Mafia mentorship program marked a pivotal turn in her career, leading to numerous performances across the region. Right now, she’s building up a new community space with the MUCHA Crew in Berlin for multidisciplinary events like workshops, political education, Soli Party’s and Raves. In a tangled web of intricate drum machines, limber synth sequences, sub bass pressure and delicate breaks he taps into the idea that serious music can also be uplifting. Initially coming up as a b-boy in Frankfurt, Moses Joses immersed himself in music culture as a dancer, promoter and figurehead in the city's hip-hop scene. A pivotal NYC experience hearing house music played the right way collided with a knee injury to send him down a different path as a DJ towards the spirited, curious techno-not-techno he's best known for now. It's a path which led to a residency at Offenbach's Robert Johnson club and onto a many-sided mission cultivating events that seek out a different way of partying. Operating from his current base in Berlin, ZSA ZSA is Moses Joses' foremost project — a record label and daytime event series which champions a self-styled healthy kind of clubbing. With these events, ZSA ZSA seeks to create unpretentious spaces that prioritise mental and physical well-being for party people on a sober one, families of music freaks, solo voyagers and social souls. Moses Joses is just as likely to lay down an acidic 100 BPM roll speckled with laid back breaks as he is to lock into a mind-bending techno pulse, but at every turn he reaches for sonics with something to say — colour, variation and funk course through his selections whether he's at the controls at a clear-headed day rave, lining up a release on ZSA ZSA or tracking deeper into the night at his Melting Minds parties. ⟫ saHHar ⵣ سَهّار is a DJ and co-founder of the Berlin-based collective saHHara, and a resident of the event series Haram Night. ⟫ Born and raised in Tunis and now based in Berlin, he explores the musical electronic landscapes by blending North African rhythms such as mezoued, raï, chaabi, stambeli, and Arabic music with electronic sounds such as bouncy & groovy techno and house. His sets often include live elements like drums and vocals. With strong ties to the underground scenes, saHHar started out playing in illegal raves and organizing events to fill gaps he felt in the Berlin scene to give space to underrepresentated artists and sounds.
