Johannes Schuster is a potent force in the world of electronic music. Resident for iconic German event brands Unreal and 303, he has been playing and collecting vinyl since he was 15, building a global reputation through his incendiary DJ sets. A heady blend of dark, industrial tunes, bright and emotional pads, ravey acid and old school grooves form the nucleus of Johannes’ mesmerising sound. He has released solo productions and remixes on a range of prominent labels - including Green Fetish, Soma, NineTimesNine, Voxnox, RND Records, Märked and many more - with a packed global tour schedule. His first residency, in 2017, was with legendary Cologne spot Artheater. At Artheater Johannes became resident for the acid techno party 303. Playing regularly at such a renowned spot gave him the chance to carve out his own pathway within the local scene, performing alongside a long list of techno heavyweights. In 2021 Johannes joined the family at Unreal, one of Germany’s premier hard techno outfits, held at infamous Cologne club Bootshaus. Johannes has since become a highly-regarded hard techno artist, travelling the global circuit and igniting dance floors everywhere he plays. In Lee Ann Roberts’ hands, even the hardest techno can have subtlety and soul. The Amsterdam-based, South African-born artist has become a prominent force in the global techno scene thanks to her fierce determination and vibrant creative touch. She leads with her own NowNow label – a self-reliant platform that nods to the South African colloquialism that means ‘soon’, a call to surrender to the moment and follow where the music takes you. It’s a mantra she’s lived by as her career has sharply risen, debuting on Spanish label Suara with ‘Miyamoto’ and instantly scoring number two on Beatport’s Hard Techno chart. She’s simultaneously been growing NowNow with her own productions dropping alongside remixes from verified legends like D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Jay Clarke and Dense & Pika. Roberts’ first break came via her own show on Cape Town’s Mutha FM before she traveled to LA and found a home at the legendary Hollywood nightclub AVALON. From Secret Solstice in Iceland to Caprices Festival, BPM alongside Jeff Mills, DGTL and Verknipt in Amsterdam to countless other gigs across the world, Roberts has continually progressed, road-testing her tracks in the pressure-cooker situations she finds herself in every weekend. The vitality in Roberts’ sound undoubtedly comes from her broad outlook, inspired as much by the revolutionary misfits of rock as the visionary pioneers of electronic music.
