In 2022 he released his second EP Angel Hours to high acclaim. Angel Hours rise felt like it was imminent from the first listen, with contributions from Noa (Voice Actor/Stroom) and 3NDLES5 (Low Life). Mike’s production across the release feels akin to 90’s artists like I:Cube, Thievery Corporation or certain Weatherall moments. The heavenly references are well deserved with multiple moments on the release feeling truly divine, whilst others take a low-lit and alluring feel. Mike Midnight feels singular in the Australian music landscape. Angel Hours continues the lineage of Australian music breaking through to international recognition with the release becoming a mainstay on NTS Radio, breakfast show host Flo Dill dubbing it “music that when listened to at night makes you feel unstoppable.” His recent DJ sets at Globus, Miscellania and on The Lot Radio showcase his unique skills as a DJ. Miley Serious moves between Paris and New York, carrying a restless energy that shapes her work as a DJ and the founder of 99CTS Records. Her sets are sharp, fast-thinking, and textured, cutting across bass, breaks, techno and experimental electronics with a strong sense of tension and control. With 99CTS, she builds beyond the dancefloor. The label acts as a fluid platform for tapes, zines, and collaborations, documenting scenes as they evolve rather than fixing them in place. It’s a hands-on, independent approach that mirrors her instinct behind the decks. A resident at Rex Club and a regular on international lineups, she also curates radio takeovers and projects connecting platforms like The Lot Radio and Rinse France, creating links between different local scenes.
