As the son of Eritrean refugees, Johannes Debese aka Johnny D became acquainted with a wide array of music styles from an early age – from Tigrinya, the Eritrean music of his heritage, to hip-hop, funk and soul. During the breakbeat-craze in the Rhein-Neckar delta, he first came in contact with electronic music at the age of thirteen. Soon after, he decided to take to the turntables himself. His first electronic music sets at modest breakbeat events followed and Johnny D quickly developed into a versatile artist, active in the Mannheim Collective alongside Ray Okpara, Nick Curly, Nekes and Federico Molinari. They organized house parties together and founded their own Labels Oslo, 8Bit and Cecille, rising to wild popularity throughout the scene. Johnny D’s style continued to develop under the influence of minimal electronic music, prompting him to try his hand at producing. His musical versatility makes it difficult to define his style but one can safely locate his music and vinyl selection somewhere between deep-house, minimal and techno. Creating his own unique style using vinyl and affectionately arranged live sets. His first releases ‘Manipulation’, ‘Walkman’ and ‘Orbitalife’ open another musical chapter and Johnny further continues to release on Labels such as Cocoon, Moonharbour, Strictly Rhythm, BPitch Control and Mobilee. Groove magazine nominated him for Best “Newcomer of the Year” and DeBug magazine for “Best Track of the Year” in 2008. Apart from being a very popular guest at Cocoon Ibiza, Johnny has played the world’s biggest festivals and renowned clubs including Womb in Tokyo, Panorama Bar, Club der Visionäre in Berlin, D-Edge in Brazil, Fabric in London, Tenax Italia, Time Warp in Germany, I love Techno in Belgium, the Gypsy Club in Russia, Amnesia/Ibiza and many more. MASA(Spacegathering / Hypnodisk) MASA is mainly known as a psychedelic trance Dj but is also a highly professional sound creator involved in various movie sound tracks and sound generator programming for Roland and other music companies. He is one of the few people who introduced GOA trance in the early 90s to Japan. With an in-depth knowledge of synthesizer programming that began with his first noise band he originally concentrated his efforts on making new and original sounds more than Dj-ing. Soon after discovering the facinating sound of trance he created T.T.T (Tokyo Techno Tribe) . Together they played live at early Equinox parties (origninators of Japan trance parties) but have since gone off on their own individual journeys. Now they both enjoy great notoriety as the original driving force behind the massive Japan dance scene. Early in his career he played with famous Dj Hamase as X-Tron and has since collaborated worldwide with famous artists like Xavier, Ray Castle, Mike Maguire, and Tsuyosh's band Joujouka. Recently Masa is recognized as a Dj more than a live sound creator. His music is very intense and original which drives the crowd into a truly higher state of enjoyable consciousness. He has been organizing his own Space Gathering parties since 1997. These parties combining both musical and visual sensations are very impressive and attract a family like gathering of friends and fans who truly enjoy the beautiful sound and visual sensations of positive energy. Cultural Expressions from the capitalistic influenced world got mostly banned. Lots of Records were rare and often had to be smuggled in. Listing with friends a Radioshow or watching TV from western sector of Berlin became always risky event. The Mauerfall 89 changed that conditions totally. Openminded and touched by the common liberate feeling of the early nineties, able to digging records free and ready listing to all that unknown music out there, he started buying and collecting records, tapes and discs. Around 1994 ,with his friends he started a club in Beeskow in an abandoned warehouse called „Treibstoff“. Guys like Norman Nodge, Andre Lodemann, Sammy Dee, Tom Clark played there. 16 years old Franky got his first regular playing experiences as Dj in Frankfurt/ Oder in a club called „Kulturfabrik“ . The Residency „Yaburizuguri“ was set once a month and 500 people all subcultures were dancing to the eclectic sets mixing House, Drum & Bass, Trip Hop, Jazz, Hip Hop and Rock music to a whole journey. 1999 he moved to Berlin for studying Cultural Anthropology, Sociology and Politics at Humboldt University and became luckily friends with people like Chica Paula, Dandy Jack, Villalobos, Zip, Sammy Dee, Max Lodebauer and Michel Grinser. Charing the same passion for all kinds of music they asked him to play at their Private Parties, Birthdays and Afterhours. In the surrounding of Berlin clubs like WMF, Old Panoramabar producing electronic music became more and more his interest. Together with Daniel Ramm they founded the Projekt Pikaya in 2001. Four years later they released their first production. During the Fusion Summer Festival 2005 Franky played their song 'Grüne Raufaser' to Luciano who liked it a great deal and released him in September 2006 on Cadenza Label. Since April 2006 Daniel and Franky have worked as live act in clubs all over Europe. Pikaya live acts became well known in short time and gave them the opportunity to play gigs in front of thousands of people at DC 10, Privileg, Space, Panorama Bar, Tenax, Cocorico, Fusion Festival (2009 / 2011)… Franky’s passion of DJ ing music in long sessions was never out of his focus. 2006, luckily Franky found his creative home base in Gregor Krämers „Club der Visionäre“ and established here the Residencie called „Karawane“, where DJ s and Musicans like Ion Ludwig, De Walta, Luca Torre, Edward, Konstantin, Rene Audriard, Adil Hiani, Alex & Digby, Bella Sarris, NSI, Andre Lodemann, Roman Flügel, got invited to play their first session in this special and unique institution of berlin electronic dance music scene. Among bigger events like O2 Parties (2008), Berlin Beats and Boots, Thaibreak (2010), Rave on Snow (2010) - Franky Greiner played over the years in almost every location of Berlin s underground nightlife like Tresor, WMF,103, Anita Berber, Bar 25, Chalet, Kater Holzig & Blau, Wilde Renate, Horst Kreuzberg, Watergate, Weekend, Griessmühle, Farbfernseher, Paloma Bar, GoldenGate, Suicide Circus, Bar Tausend, HRD Bar, San Remo, Pfefferbank, Cookies, Used to play often all night long session he is able to accompanies evening jazz events that end up in dancing parties with Housemusik. One good example was his DJ live supporting of Mark Scheibe's Orchestra in the Admiralspalast Berlin (2011). 2012 he took a little break from clublive, finishing his Magister Studium at Humboldt University. Inspired by analyzing culture from the sonic and technology perspective - he wrote his examen about „Elektronische Musik als Akustikdesign.“ Updated with new inspiration and knowledge - different new projects poped up. All to do with sound. 2013 he got the chance to work for Ralf Kroner the founder of DD Distribution as Artistconsulting and for Arturia as Sounddesigner. Christopher Lawrenz is definitely one of the fundamental figures of the up-to-date electronic music movement. Grown up in the north of Germany near Hamburg, the clubbing scene enchained him at the age of 15, when he started playing in small bars and clubs, marking histurntable ascension from the age whereup most of the youngsters are still playing football in the courtyard. also playing violin and piano gives him the right musical basics for his career. moving first to hamburg and joining the ego club as a resident ensured him constant gigs and laid him at the deck with Solomon, Tobi Neumann, Carl Craig, Andre Galluzzi, Onur Özer, Anja Schneider, Pan-Pot, Mike Shannon, Dewalta.....and the list could be go on and on. 2011 he finally moved to Berlin where he found his new base for his career. After playing a lot in the bests clubs in town like Club Der Visionäre, Watergate, Sisyphos, Arena Club, Wilde Renate he starts launching his own label together with John Clats.
