A child of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK, since 2016 Juba has been paying musical homage to her heritage as a DJ who principally showcases music from Africa and the African diaspora, whilst drawing on other electronic musical influences. As a regular host on Berlin's Cashmere Radio, core member of London's Boko! Boko! collective and creator of the Assurance Documentary and Podcast, not only is she a skilled DJ, but she also utilises her platforms to explore socio-political issues surrounding the world of music. In recent years the buzz has grown around Juba grow, with DJ sets at Panorama Bar, Peacock Society Festival, Keep Hush and a sensational Boiler Room debut in 2019. Her electrifying sets reinforce that not only is she a captivating DJ, but a skilled craftsman whose unique energy brings any party to boiling point.Recently at Refuge Worldwide / Niemetzstraße, Maaya, Monopol · often with DJ LOUI FROM JUPITER4, Fiyahdred, Jonas Xenon, none of them here that night

A veteran and somewhat legend to Berlin’s bass music scene, selecta UTA’s resume spans from co-running UK bass dedicated party Rec Room (along side Sarah Farina and Kepler) to providing killer sets for the likes of Rinse FM, Boiler Room, Nood Radio, Refuge Worldwide, HÖR and Berceuse Heroique mix series. In addition to appearing at cult-favourite clubs like Berlin’s OHM and Hamburg's Golden Pudel, she has frequented CTM Festival and DEEP MEDI as well as Europe's best sound system projects including Nik Nowak's explorations of sonic warfare: "Sound(ing) Systems” at KINDL Centre for Contemporary Art Berlin and the legendary KILLASAN Sound System at Haus der Kunst Munich (a collaboration with Goethe Institute; spanning art, culture and musical crossover). Schooled in classic house and techno as part of the German capital's thriving underground scene in the '90s, UTA's wide-ranging selections are tied together by her skillful technique, honed over decades behind the decks. An avid and adventurous listener, she hunts down hidden gems in second-hand record shops, mixing them with new and future sounds of bass music, grime, breaks, 2-step and dub. Over the years her passion for musical diversity and intention to find the origin of what she is playing has only grown. UTA enjoys digging deeper into the history, roots and politics of sounds and genres, it's often and still a reflection of time for her. UTA is the host of Slow Caffeine on THF Radio.often with Genoe, 2D1G, BloOm, none of them here that night
“Mareena's deep connection with electronic music began in her early teenage years in East Germany, where she experienced the quaking rise of techno.”

Mareena's deep connection with electronic music began in her early teenage years in East Germany, where she experienced the quaking rise of techno. Growing up amidst youth club culture and underground parties in abandoned buildings, she was shaped by the no-nonsense, freedom-oriented spirit of the post-communist era. But it was when she moved to Berlin in 2004, that she started DJing, and the city and its vigorous nightlife contributed immensely to her understanding as an artist. Musically spoken, her roots branch deep into the spirit and sound of dub techno and pre and early 2000s techno productions. Adding to this foundation, Mareena has developed a statement sound characterized by rhythmic, lively, and non-linear beats that create an unrelenting flow of energy on the dancefloor. This foundation has earned a long-standing residency (since 2012) in the techno institution Tresor, which stands for a similar ethos. Authentic, but always evolving. Her ability to include hard and elegant elements into her vinyl-oriented sets has led her to play at renowned clubs across the globe - Berghain, De School, Faust Seoul or for the Bunker New York events. Mareena brings that club spirit also to life at the festivals she played, ranging from the cutting edge Up To Date Festival to ravier happenings like the Third Room and not to forget her ambient appearances like at Mostra Barcelona. As opposites are necessary to create balance and harmony, another facet of Mareena’s DJing is the subtle and evocative touches of her ambient sets. Mindfulness, slowing down and the art of contemplation are equally important to Mareen than the dancefloor euphoria. This has led her to found the event series, podcast and label UNRUSH in 2016. Unrush focuses on different hues of ambient music and therefore likes to be a counterpoint to today's fast-paced society. Mareena's career extends beyond DJing into production, too. Productions, that celebrate her love of synthesizers and don't stick to any of the classic genre boxes. So far, Mareena has released on labels like Muzan Editions, Tresor, and her imprint, Unrush. Her collaborative album with JakoJako, "Atlas Der Gedanken," is dedicated to different shades of ambient that make the listener reflect inwards and gaze outwards simultaneously through its organic and electronic touches. Mareena's credibility and authenticity, paired with a daring style, make her a key presence in today’s electronic music culture and carry its spirit forward.Their RA profile lists Tresor, Unrush and Muzan Editions.Recently at Tresor / Globus, HHV.de Store, Berghain · often with Berghain, Kerrie, Beatrice, none of them here that night
