As one of two hosts of the splendid "sounds like" radio show at THF Radio, she knows how to mix and match some of the most versatilely selected tunes out there. Berkan’s style is dark, but dreamy, heavy, but driving. He connects deep sounds, breaks with wobbly basslines and bounce. Energy, emotions, and moods are his guiding themes, to create mixes that carry the crowd through the night. Their collective (est. 2017) is known for its quintessential 90’s & Queer House sound. With their fierce sound and vocally loaded tracks they want to be an antidote to the mundane, injecting every set with loads of joy. Jana Falcon is a queer DJ, producer, Garage Girls and BRENN. resident and former Vinyl Cutting Engineer from Berlin. She grew up in the greater Frankfurt area. The vibrant nightlife of Frankfurt played a significant role in her development as a music enthusiast. In 2011 Jana relocated to Berlin, quickly immersing herself in the city's electronic music culture. In 2016, after years of honing her skills, Jana took a step forward in her career by releasing her first record on the label Smile for a While. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in her artistic journey, as her productions began to reflect her diverse influences. Throughout her career, she has continually evolved as both a producer and DJ, blending the old with the new in her sets and productions. Jana’s DJ sets are a reflection of her broad influences, combining UK Garage, 2 Step and 90s House tracks with modern, synth-driven House beats and deep, disco-influenced grooves. Bass heavy, hard-pushing sounds that focus on keeping dancers sweating and smiling are Ubax’s goals when she plays. Born and raised in London, Ubax grew up surrounded by the sounds of Jungle, Drum and Bass, UK garage, Grime and Somali music. But it wasn’t until she moved to Berlin that a mixture of nostalgia and longing to hear more bass music motivated her to get behind the decks. A graduate from the fourth round of the Femme Bass Mafia mentorship programme. Ubax is inspired by the sounds of of the African diaspora, SWANA, Latin America and of course the UK. These diverse sonic influences manifest in her sets, building a bridge between old skool tunes and new sounds.
