    the whole biography
It is impossible to explain who Anna Tur is without talking about her music and her relationship with it. A native of Ibiza, Anna's career as a DJ began in 2011 and she quickly began to stand out in countries such as Germany and Romania. Her position in Spain came a little later, but in recent years she has established herself as one of the regular figures in the best clubs and festivals in the country. Perfectionist, passionate, elegant and fun are all adjectives easily applicable to Anna Tur and her style. A balanced combination capable of moving between house and techno that has opened doors to the main international festivals and clubs: Creamfields, Street Parade, Kappa, Medusa Sunbeach Festival, WCD, Tomorrowland, Ultra Australia, Pacha Ibiza, Kit Kat Club Berlin, Amnesia, IMS Ibiza as well as Pyramid Ibiza, where she is a regular guest at their parties and part of the brand's world tour. The year 2022 was a real turning point for her as a producer. Since then, her work has been released on some of the most influential labels: Armada, Drumcode, Truesoul, IAMT, Set About or Union Three, among many others. She also launched her own label: LOWLITA Records together with Gonçalo Miranda and Hosse. In addition to her music, her work on the airwaves has contributed to this recognition, respect and international projection. Anna Tur was the General Manager of Ibiza Global Radio and TV for almost two decades until May 2020. After her departure and showing her unique radio spirit, the Ibizan created her podcast series "On Air with Anna Tur". Perhaps the combination of all these elements is the secret. The reason why this DJ and producer from Ibiza manages to connect with the public in such a characteristic and unique way. An ability that has allowed her to develop a very close bond with her fans, who loyally accompany her in each of her projects. A support that is also shared by the electronic industry, from her colleagues to critics and specialised media. This is why Anna is currently experiencing her sweetest professional moment, having found both her sound and the recognition of the industry.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
A true innovator in the culture of today’s industry, BEC’s organic rise has been nothing short of meteoric. Her sound—dark, hypnotic, and unmistakably powerful—has earned her a place as one of the most exciting voices in electronic music right now. Now releasing on Indira Paganotto’s highly respected ARTCORE label and with plenty more in store, including appearances at Ritvales Festival and Miami Music Week, BEC’s trajectory is one of unstoppable momentum. She’s also made serious waves with her hypnotic release “Can’t Say We Didn’t Try” on Nina Kraviz’s legendary трип (Trip) label, showing her versatility and ability to craft pure dancefloor heat. Elevating her tastemaker status, BEC has taken things to the next level by launching her own collaborative label, EMBARGO, alongside fellow techno innovator KiNK. Their debut release, “Artificial Malfunction”, was an instant hit and has set the tone for the label’s experimental and genre-defying future. In addition to nurturing and expanding her record label, BEC looks forward to an inaugural release on SPFDJ’s fierce Intrepid Skin imprint, further proving she’s a force to be reckoned with in the underground scene. With a relentless work ethic and unique sound, BEC has travelled the globe, leaving no corner of the world untouched by her charged performances. From festivals and clubs in Mexico, India, and China, to massive gigs in the US, BEC has been everywhere, consistently delivering high-energy sets that are nothing short of electrifying. As a DJ, she’s renowned for seamlessly working across three decks, creating tension and groove with each carefully woven loop, remixing tracks live to ensure every set is an unrepeatable journey into the heart of her signature strain of techno. A self-confessed "studio geek" with a dizzying array of skills and knowledge, BEC has worked with industry giants such as Roland and Novation doing demos and product videos. This means she very much has her own trademark sound; her tracks are perfectly weighted, well swung and built on high pressure drums. Add in the spirit of where she resides, Berlin, plus powerful, all-consuming bass and you have the key ingredients that make her records some of the best the industry has to offer. As BEC moves onto the next phase in her artistic career, she’s fully immersed in her EMBARGO label, teaming up with fresh talent and curating innovative releases that break new ground in techno. Alongside that, she’s set to return to her newfound home of Artcore, while gearing up for yet another packed touring schedule. With her relentless drive and bold creativity, BEC is firmly at the forefront of techno’s new wave—leading the charge as one of the most exciting artists shaping the future of the genre

  • Dr. Motte

“Even with such achievments to his credit, Dr.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Even with such achievments to his credit, Dr. Motte has stayed true to his ideals, true to the 'underground' that has been his home for decades. By his chosen way of life, he remains attuned to and a part of that all important zeitgeist. Now like then, he stands for peace, love, unity and respect. His sound is sophisticated, energetic and multifaceted. He combines thrilling Acid sounds and rousing club grooves with driving Techno beats and takes his audience on a thrilling trip through his universe. “If you perceive music as a kind of social responsibility of a culture you'll always remain progressive.” (Dr. Motte) _ Up until 1989 Mathias Roeingh led a relatively low-key life. Born in Spandau in 1960 he tiptoed through the scene; from 1981 – 1984 with the ‘Toten Piloten’ (dead pilots), a Berlin punk band before around 1985 two turntables and a mixer stood where guitar bass and drums used to be. The dance scene in the mid-80’s was small and barely noticed by the general public. A hint of the mass phenomena that defined the 90’s was no where to be found. His associates only wanted to do with electronic music and the sounding out of these new developments unfolding in music. In 1989 from this zeitgeist there arose a bold idea that would make a mark on the history of music and make Dr. Motte live forever. ‘Friends’ regularly visited the underground parties in England, reported Dr. Motte about the drastic measures of the British police forces against these events. They would be spectacularly dissolved and sound systems would be taken into custody. The party crowd however was not to be deterred. They danced to music ghetto blasted into the streets. Inspired from this image Dr. Motte thought about how he could bring this spirit back to Berlin. The solution was as simple as it was magnificent: an exhibition – a demonstration the modern culture of electronic dance music. Under the motto “Peace, Happiness and Pancakes” there followed 150 music and dance lovers on 01.07.1989 at the Kürfurstendamm. After that, things were no longer as they once were. Electronic dance music was the most important youth movement of the 90’s with the Loveparade as the chief symbol. For this 1 day in the year the Loveparade dissolved all the borders and over the years and eventually grew to become a national and international gathering. Germany, whose reputation even today is massively seen through they perspective of world wars, was now seen in a different light: open, happy, young! Berlin became sexy! The number of the visitors grew to such a degree in so few years that the Loveparade 1995 due to space constrictions had to leave the Ku’damm and moved to the spacious area around the Street of the 17th of June. In 1999 the Loveparade broke all previous records. Dr. Motte held court at the closing rally in front of around 1.2 million ravers from the whole world on the Siegessäule. For the overwhelming success of the Loveparade, Dr. Motte remained underground. From the increasingly commercial tint of the spectacle he remained the same. When in November 2005 the trademark ‘Loveparade’ was to be sold to a fitness chain entrepreneur, he was opposed to the move. As one of 5 associates of the Loveparade Berlin GmbH he was outnumbered and finally refused his right of veto in order to maintain the “Holiday for electronic music” for society. At any rate the Loveparade was threatened with bankruptcy and negative financial viability and the end was well in view. After the first parade under new management in the summer of 2006 is was clear to Dr. Motte that the decision was a mistake. The idealistic content and aims of which he was always a strong proponent were now shuffled to the curb. This is why he distanced himself publicly from the Loveparade and the new owners. In the years following, things cooled off for the ‘Father of the Loveparade’ – ‘Dr. Motte’ still tours around the world as a DJ. He plays at the biggest festivals and in world renowned clubs. As a representative of German electronic music from the Goethe Institute in Munich in cooperation with the Foreign Affairs Office in Berlin he was invited to “Germany On Display” in Nanjing (eastern China). As well he alsois engaged in various initiatives such as “Laut gegen Nazi’s” (loud against nazi’s), ‘Freiheit statt Angst’ (freedom instead of fear) and many others. Having cemented herself as a true maven of the peak time banger via a series of high-energy features on the likes of Solardo’s Sola, Patrick Topping’s TRICK, Jax Jones Presents and Spinnin’ Records, a succession of sell-out club nights under her own outfit, plus upcoming shows at the likes of DC10 and Warehouse Project — it’s hard to look away from Dundee born-and-raised DJ and producer Hannah Laing’s unstoppable trajectory to the top. Rapturous new single ‘Climax’ on WUGD joins a slew of big room, blissed-out anthems spanning house, techno and everything in between — including her knockout 2019 bootleg of Sophie Ellis Bextor’s iconic 2001 hit ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’, a rework that earned Laing global acclaim and the notice of some of the biggest names in the business, including FISHER who dropped the track during most sets in 2019. Having caught the attention of BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Danny Howard, JAGUAR and Sarah Story, she made her BBC Introducing debut at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in May 2022. She has still found time to develop her own podcast and club night: Hannah’s Choice — with guests such as Hannah Wants, Marc Kinchen, Jax Jones and Ben Helmsley. Hannah credits her prowess as a DJ to her time hustling as an Ibiza resident, having landed her first regular spot at a Scottish bar in San Antonio at the tender age of 19 — going on to play at island institutions DC-10, Amnesia and Hï. This daily grind as DJ — bringing in guests and keeping the energy high no matter how many bodies were on the dancefloor — has given her a keen ability to stretch and manoeuvre a room, ensuring every performance is unique and reactive. Having been raised on a diet of Paul Oakenfold, Roger Sanchez and a treasure trove of Hedkandi cassette tapes — all from archives of her rave-loving parents, Laing doesn’t remember a time when she wasn’t surrounded by dance music. Her first encounter with the club was at age 15, an experience that fundamentally affected Laing’s musical outlook; she recalls watching on eagerly as Dave Pearce dropped trance classics such as Delirium’s ‘Silence’. From that day on, Hannah had caught the bug, gaining her first ever DJ gig at 18 at a tiny pub in Arbroath attended by a coach load of her friends and family — from here, she took every opportunity to show off her skills with both hands: weddings, baby showers, birthdays… you name it. Her move from mixing to making music came about through a mixture of opportunity and dedication, first by chance having heard about a fellow Ibiza worker who was giving lessons to budding producers on Ableton — becoming so engrossed in her tuition, she dedicated every day off she had on the island to learn the new skill. Once back in Scotland, she signed up for a course at Escapade Studios and also works with longtime friend Erskine Audio — transitioning from looping basics to full-blown breakdown ecstasy, all with a dancefloor destination in mind. Coming up this year, Hannah Laing has a massive club and festival calendar ahead. Heading back to the White Isle, she’ll be joining Patrick Topping’s TRICK party at DC10 as well as TRICK’s Glasgow instalment at 100 Eastvale — alongside festivals Creamfields, Beatherder and TRNSMT. With features on Data Transmissions Spotlight Mix Series, a peak time mix on Sarah Story’s Future Dance on BBC Radio 1 and many more, expect to hear much more about this rising star this summer.

Releases on such prominent labels as Drumcode, Filth On Acid and Kraftek have firmly cemented her position within the techno world – all of which succeeded in bolstering her global profile to almost 8 million Spotify streams. Her productions have found their own identity with each featuring Juliet’s unique and trippy vocals wrapped into her ever experimental hooks and basslines. These tracks have become synonymous all over the globe and have created pivotal moments in many DJ performances at some of the most infamous events worldwide. Over the past two years, Juliet has spent her time exploring her musical tastes and learning new production techniques in her studio based out of Berlin. Her love of hardware and synthesizers has grown and they have featured heavily in her most recent productions, which were released on her imprint label, TREGAMBE. Born at the end of 2020, this label was an outpost for productions that were inspired by the moment she was in – this meant there was no compromise as the music could be what she wanted it to be, given that it didn’t have to fit any particular brief. “If people think of Switzerland, they think of green meadows, clear water, snow-covered mountain tops and fresh air.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
If people think of Switzerland, they think of green meadows, clear water, snow-covered mountain tops and fresh air. In the world of electronic music they think of soulful house music and a history of great parties and clubs. It is in both these environments that Marco Biagini aka KELLERKIND grows up in. In the small and rural town of Solothurn KELLERKIND discoveres Chicago house music in the local clubs and becomes fully infected with the virus of house music. 15 years later, KELLERKIND has become an irreplaceable figure in the Swiss electronic music scene. When it started, it was fun. Now it is passion. After many nights spent on the dancefloor at Solothurn’s then only good club “Nachtschicht”, KELLERKIND starts to DJ, first in the bedroom and soon in the clubs in and around his home town. The warm and soulful music of Chicago and deep house remain his biggest influences when he starts to blend together his favourite tracks on the turntables. Very quickly he starts to play out in all of Switzerland’s big clubs. His clever arrangements of tracks, but even more so his constantly pulsating and grooving sets become a trademark that can still be heard in his DJ sets today. “It’s all about the groove”, he claims for himself. By 2007 Marco has already played the biggest and most important clubs in Switzerland from Zurich’s Hive, Rohstofflager, Rote Fabrik, Zukunft to Berns Formbar. However, his career really kicks off with his first release “Bergluft” in 2008. Since 2001 KELLERKIND has been producing music. His name, which translates as “the child from the basement”, can be taken quite literally, as he spends hours and hours creating his warm house sounds and arranging tracks in his basement studio in Solothurn. In 2007 KELLERKIND meets the guys behind Swiss house imprint Sirion Recordings and in 2008 he releases “Bergluft”, a track that gets worldwide feedback. It is played by many famous DJs, charts at number 5 of Beatport’s minimal charts and is played by John Digweed on his radio show on UK’s Kiss100. After this debut release things happen quickly: Florian Meindl releases his first EP “Keller EP” on his label Flash Recordings, of which the tracks “Natural Juice” and “TomTom” chart very high in various different techno charts. Later the tracks are re-released on vinyl as the “Don’t Go Home” EP, which charts highly with record retailers such as decks.de. In 2009 KELLERKIND first starts to work with Oliver Koletzki producing a remix for his track “Since you are gone”, which receives great feedback within the scene. Since then he has already released his own EP on Stil vor Talent together with Niko Schwind, a homage to house music with a modern approach to dance music. And there is more to come. Since his first release KELLERKIND DJ career has taken a sharp turn: he has played Berlin’s famous Watergate, frequently plays at Hive Club in Zurich and many other international dance venues. While taking the energy from the club on to his records, KELLERKIND enjoys the contrast from the weekend during the week: he produces his tracks in a small wooden hut somewhere tucked away deeply in the Swiss countryside. It is here that his warm and soulful tracks are produced, it is here that he replenishes his batteries from long weekends spent between Zurich and Berlin. “Most of my influences still come from weekends spent in clubs”, he states and one can hear that in both his DJ sets and his productions. There is always this pulsating groove, this unstoppable energy that makes KELLERKIND music so unique, and so danceable.

Across decades of devotion, hard work and a natural talent for connecting with the dance floor, Nicole has cultivated an unparalleled reputation. A staunch advocate for personal freedom, she is highly regarded worldwide for her deep knowledge, unforgettable DJ sets, definitive productions and iconic aesthetic - a pillar of the global electronic music community. With regular appearances at a long list of influential and innovative club spaces and festivals, Nicole Moudaber’s versatility, passion and intuitive approach place her in the top tier of touring artists. She has travelled the world playing, from intimate basement venues to large stages at festivals such as Coachella, Ultra Music festival, Time Warp, Electric Daisy Carnival, Awakenings and many more of the world’s most renowned electronic music spaces. Always striving for greatness, she has her sights set firmly on the future with a strong vision of her next phase and the unwavering determination to make that vision real. From Nigeria to Beirut and London, Nicole’s dynamic outlook has been shaped by each location. Growing up in Nigeria exposed her to the hypnotic tribal rhythms of artists like Fela Kuti. Described by the BBC as the “Godmother of Beirut’s nightlife”, she was pivotal in building up the city’s club culture in the late 1990s. A move to London in 2000 led to more party promoting and, eventually, diving head first into DJing and production. Today, Nicole is a globally revered icon. More than a DJ, Moudaber is a cultural ambassador and champion of the underground. With her core values centred around self-expression and freedom of self, over the last few years she has rediscovered and reinvigorated her creative energy, channeling her love for music into an array of projects. Besides her solo releases and a consistently packed touring schedule, she has carved out plenty of studio time amid her global travels, collaborating with a wide range of artists that further reflect her boundaryless vision. In what has been a highly creative period for Nicole, collaborators include Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Armin van Buuren, Chris Liebing, Jasper Street Co. and The London Community Gospel Choir, among many others. Her music has landed on esteemed labels such as Diplo’s Higher Ground, the legendary Nervous Records, A State of Trance, Drumcode and Armada, to name just a few.
As someone who positions themselves as a chameleon, this slew of releases across genres demonstrates just how versatile Nicole can be. Her forthcoming album will cement this notion. It will bring together a multitude of styles and influences, all of which comprise the artist we know as Nicole Moudaber. The project reflects her dynamic spirit and love for diversity in sound - each track a piece of her evolution as an artist. Aligned with everything Nicole does, the roots of the album lie in the groove and funk embedded in her soul. Her entire being moves with the rhythms that can be traced back to the Motherland, and her earliest encounters with music and the core of it all - drums. Nicole is also writing a book about her life. In a boldly vulnerable move, she will tell her story in detail, giving fans a chance to gain a deeper understanding of her personal and professional background. Yet another (literal) chapter that cements her position as an artist of the people, who connects with listeners in a deeply personal way.
A new label is also part of Nicole’s vision for the future. MoodCollective focuses on tech house, providing another platform for self expression alongside her techno label MOOD. Its ethos is centred around showcasing emerging and innovative talent. their own biography

    the whole biography
Tassilo and Thomas met at Berlin’s renowned SAE, and were drawn together as they were the only two in their studies who had their sights set on the sound of techno. Their initial musical efforts placed a primacy on integrating electronic experimentation with minimal stylings while simultaneously establishing the ominous, murky sounds that have since become synonymous with their name. The next few years saw the release of a steady stream of original tracks and remixes on both Mobilee and Einmaleins, each demonstrating the duo’s commitment to precise, undulating and kinetic grooves accompanied by a steady expansion of their sonic palate. The defining moment of Pan-Pot's career came in 2007 with the release of their debut artist album, Pan-O-Rama. The aptly named long player offered a 360-degree view of techno that was unique, uncompromised and most importantly, their own. The body of work perfectly balanced heavy, peak time club stormers to deeper, more intricate atmospherics and birthed the overground hit "Charly". More recently "Confronted" and "Captain My Captain" have demonstrated their classic, bold and timeless production style, presenting them as the producers at the top of their game, both sonically and conceptually. Pan-Pot hasn't gotten to where they are on their productions alone. When the two aren't spending countless hours in the studio remixing or creating original work, they are relentlessly touring. This is how they have truly gotten to where they are: by touching the writhing, euphoric, dancing seas of bodies at countless gigs every year. Not only do they have an electric vibe to watch, but their grasp and keen understanding of each and every dance floor is unparalleled. Whether it's an intimate club night or a massive festival like Awakenings, Timewarp, or Creamfields, Pan-Pot know exactly what to do. Unconstrained by boundaries, they traverse techno, house and everything in between with a masters touch. Although their name comes from a basic element of studio equipment, they have rewritten notions of form and function through their own idiosyncratic language and are now stepping completely into a new world with the launch of their own imprint, Second State. Second State is not only a platform for Pan-Pot to release their own music, they are creating a family of like minded artists around them to create, imagine and travel the world with, spreading the Second State vision. It's a place where all ideas can flow seamlessly. From music and events to art and fashion, it's a place where there is no ceiling. No limits to what can be achieved or dreamed. Now is the time they are truly coming into their own. Not only as world class artists and performers, but as tastemakers and masters of their own destiny.

“In the landscape of modern electronic music, few artists embody the raw, improvisational discipline of Saytek.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
In the landscape of modern electronic music, few artists embody the raw, improvisational discipline of Saytek. A UK-based electronic musician and one of the early architects of contemporary live techno performance, Saytek has never DJed—he performs fully live. Emerging from London’s squat and illegal party scene in the early 2000s, he began constructing real-time machine-driven sets long before “live techno” became a festival staple. His philosophy is uncompromising: nothing happens unless he makes it happen. Every element is triggered, arranged, mixed and reshaped in the moment. You’ll recognise the musical DNA of his releases in the performance, but no two sets are ever the same. It’s a format built on risk, instinct and total control of the machines. Sonically, Saytek’s music is Detroit-rooted and warehouse-driven — high-energy yet deeply hypnotic. His sets fuse improvisational intensity with rolling machine funk, drawing influence from 90s techno in Detroit, Europe and the UK, while absorbing the wider spirit of that era’s electronic movement: breakbeats, jungle, ambient experimentation and house. The result is music that can be both explosive and transcendental — built for peak-time impact yet capable of pulling the room inward. Forged in the underground and refined through years working behind the scenes as a sound and lighting engineer in leading clubs, Saytek developed a deep understanding of sound, space and energy—knowledge that continues to define his performances today. From the terrace of Space Ibiza to Berlin’s Tresor and Sisyphos, London’s Fabric and FOLD, and major events such as Awakenings and Rave The Planet. Touring extensively across the USA, Canada, India, Mexico, Costa Rica and throughout Europe, Saytek has built a truly international following for his distinctive live machine performance. His live jam videos have amassed tens of millions of views long before the modern Instagram clip era, establishing him as a reference point for authentic machine-led performance. With multiple Beatport #1s and numerous Top 5 chart positions, Saytek has earned consistent recognition in FAZEmag’s Live Act public poll—Germany’s biggest dance music magazine—ranking in the Top 20 every year since 2019 and in the Top 10 for the past three consecutive years. He has also been described as a “live performance genius” by Carl Cox. His prolific catalogue, spanning albums and predominantly live-recorded releases, has appeared on heavyweight labels including KMS, Soma, R&S and Awesome Soundwave. Whether in an intimate basement or on a global festival stage, Saytek’s mission remains unchanged: to push techno forward through the unpredictable, visceral power of live machine music.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Romanian-born, Toronto-bred Simina Grigoriu has been steadily racking up accolades during her decade-long career. Starting off as a DJ, she quickly made the transition as a producer and kicked off her own label Kuukou, a home for techno forward productions, where she calls all the shots. In this time she’s also transplanted to Berlin, a place she now calls home and the major source of her creative inspiration, a source as diverse as her influences. Simina’s musical roots stem deep in her childhood when she studied classical violin and keyboard. Coupled with her parents’ musical legacy and her passion for Hip Hop freestyling as a teen, it encapsulates the foundation of her style, an avenue she continues to explore to this day. Garnering on the exposure of Toronto’s clubs, where growing up, the likes of Jeff Mills, Josh Wink and Juan Atkins struck a chord, Simina’s style grew and developed constantly into the straightforward and uplifting techno she fronts today. Her first productions came to light on the Berlin label Sonat Records in 2010 with the huge “Mukluks & Ponytails” EP, followed by releases with Phrase Insane Records in Spain, Italy’s Intellectro Vibe, Urban Sound and Frequenza Records. A debut album was sure to follow, as Exit City became one of Susumu Records’ highest chart toppers. After a yearlong break, where she focused her efforts on motherhood while keeping an active studio schedule, Simina christened Kuukou Records in July 2016 with her inaugural EP on the label “Techno Monkey”. Shortly after, she doled out “Matching Numbers” on POPOF’s FORM, an immediate hit EP complete with a smashing remix by Julian Jeweil. Since then, Simina has become a mainstay on some of the most notable labels in the techno world, with critically acclaimed, internationally-lauded releases on the likes of ELEVATE, Tronic Music, Set About, Prospect Records and Complexed Records to name just a few. An active globetrotter, Simina’s constantly touring, having wowed crowds at festivals and venues all over the world so it’s no surprise the Techno chief named her label ‘Kuukou’ (Japanese for airport). Since its inception the burgeoning imprint has gone from strength to strength, with a steady stream of hard-hitting releases from the likes of Torsten Kanzler, Gallya, Fabio Florido, Dusty Kid, BB Deng, Drumcomplex, Alfred Heinrichs, Martin Books and Daniel Boon amongst others. Safe to say the coming months and years will provide a plethora of amazing releases, performances and surprises from one of Techno’s most dynamic ladies.

The duo represent a generation of DJ/Producers who don’t need to attend to any musical rules, just carve in their main passion and provide a fresh listening to the techno circuit audience. Heady, inspired and hypnotic sounds to techno’s always vibrant culture. Demanding people, no doubt! The Boys recently joined Adam Beyer’s „DRUMCODE“ and released one of the biggest Techno Tracks of the Year: „Dark Clouds“. Earning the #1 on Beatport and huge support from the whole scene, this track is truly the summer anthem of 2023. “Timo Maas has been on a 30-year quest to deliver his musical wizardry to the world.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Timo Maas has been on a 30-year quest to deliver his musical wizardry to the world. In fact, music is such an intrinsic part of his DNA that it’s one of his main modes of communication. From a residency at the groundbreaking Circoloco at DC10 in Ibiza, where he has been entrenched for over 15 years, to tours around Europe and the rest of the world, Timo Maas maintains a high level of performance. The visionary German also dedicates his time to conjuring up fresh new productions in his studio. His international recognition began with his seminal remix of ‘Dooms Night’ by Azzido Da Bass. Adopted by the UK’s garage scene, it launched him on to the world stage and he was soon being courted by a plethora of superstars from Madonna to Depeche Mode and Fatboy Slim to Muse. He has produced three albums, ‘Loud’ in 2001, ‘Pictures’ in 2005 and, most recently, ‘Lifer’ in 2013.There’s depth, emotion and subtlety in his creations, spliced with beats and basslines to make even the most lacklustre dance floor get a little crazy. Ultimately, he is an artist whose roots lie within the club environment. He is a DJ first and foremost, injecting his experience in the booth to his artistry in the studio and consistently demonstrating his ability to connect with any crowd he is in front of. From closing the main stage at Bencasim after Blur, numerous Glastonbury and Ants Ibiza performances, regular appearances at institutions such as Warung Beach Club, right through to his intense and intimate shows at smaller venues. Timo’s last album, ‘Lifer’, included collaborations with a diverse range of artists including Placebo’s Brian Molko, James Lavelle and Mikill Pane. Since that release, he has connected with James Teej of My Favorite Robot, working closely with the Canadian, which has led to a series of exciting projects. Most recently a remix for Black Butter Records and an incredible collaboration with Paul McCartney on Virgin, that saw the pair reinvigorate an old classic. The single, 'Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five', took the world of dance music by storm with its mysterious white label debut and support from pivotal Radio 1 names such as Pete Tong and Annie Mac; it scored Timo his second Grammy nomination, the first of which he received in 2004. On the solo front Timo has been busier than ever, with original productions and remixes for the underground right up to the pop world. Artists like Kidnap Kid and Loco Dice, through to Roisin Murphy & Morcheeba - all benefitting from his expert touch in recent times, not to mention the ‘Once Upon A Time’ EP released on Sasha's legendary Last Night On Earth label. In conjunction with his studio work, Timo maintains his own label, Rockets & Ponies, which has been releasing the best electronic music for almost a decade. Artists from Acid Mondays to Maetrik, from Addison Groove to Nightmares On Wax, from Alan Fitzpatrick to Ion Ludwig have been featured on the imprint and in particular, an EP comprising of Ricardo Villalobos' remixes of famous German jazz drummer Wolfgang Haffner. Looking to the future Timo has forthcoming EP’s on Joris Voorn’s eminent Rejected label and a return to My Favourite Robot. Not only this but a remix of the fabled Porcelain by Moby on his own Rockets & Ponies label. As time passes by, Timo Maas remains relevant, hungry and bursting with ideas. Never looking to the past, always in the here and now. From his formative years, in a small town called Bückeburg, up to today, Timo Maas has retained a love and passion for making and playing music that is indelibly etched into his psyche. It makes him the man he is today; driven, positive, infinitely creative and full of magic.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Fueled by an innate determination, drive and passion, with attuned intuition applied to both his music and life, West African native AMÉMÉ channels his cultural roots and ancestry into everything he does. Born and raised in Benin, AMÉMÉ (Hubert Sodogandji) helms One Tribe, a global community and brand identity centred on unity and a positive outlook. His visionary capabilities and unwavering dedication have been the catalyst behind the rapid growth and proliferation of both his musical endeavours and One Tribe as a whole. Specialising in Afro-leaning electronic music, with flourishes of tribal percussion and spiritual vocals built upon a foundation of contemporary deep house and tech, AMÉMÉ’s DJ sets are eclectic, energetic and nourishing for the soul. Releases on his One Tribe label found their way to Black Coffee, who supported the music in Tulum back in 2019. With such an influential figure backing his productions, it was inevitable that AMÉMÉ’s name would soon be ringing in the ears of other key tastemakers. Over the past few years he’s been signed to Watergate Records, Blond:Ish has released his music on her Abracadabra label and the mighty MoBlack has also brought the West African wonder on board. Recently he was drafted in to remix fellow African artist Omah Lay’s song ‘Understand’ for Sire Records (Warner). AMÉMÉ was chosen in order to maintain the connection to the motherland, injecting Omah’s original with unique influences from his own lineage. The remix breathes new life into the song, while holding true to the energy of their nation. Meanwhile, he has demonstrated his prowess as a selector, touring the globe to spin in global epicentres for electronic music; Ibiza, Miami, Berlin, New York, Paris, Mykonos and Tulum through to events like Burning Man, where his tribal rhythms, spiritually-enriching vocals and life affirming melodies were right at home. AMÉMÉ’s outgoing persona and contagious energy behind the decks complement his rapturous selections, creating the ideal combination to fill the dance floor with uplifting vibrations. In his homeland Benin, West Africa, the ancient art of voodoo still has a presence in everyday life. The spiritual practice centres on human connection with the natural world; plants, animals and inanimate objects. Everything has energy, vibration and life force. Many of its core rituals are rooted in drums and chants, the voice and percussion, deeply innate human modes of expression. AMÉMÉ’s early life was indelibly marked by the influence of this ceremonial tradition and wider African music culture. As a child he competed with his siblings to produce mixtapes that could be played in the car on the way to school. Whoever had the best selection was bestowed with the honour of soundtracking their journey. Later he became part of a hip hop group in his home nation, achieving nationwide success and supporting French superstars when they toured in Benin. These two pivotal points instilled in AMÉMÉ crucial skills that would bolster his DJ career; selecting music and performing. In 2005 his older brother moved to France after high school and returned to his homeland with electronic music from the European nation, which, of course, he played in the car, because he was the oldest sibling. Over the three months of summer, AMÉMÉ couldn’t escape from French house and (eventually) came to love it. This introduction to the greats of the French scene forms the bedrock of his shift into electronic music. Fast forward a few years and AMÉMÉ moved to New York. There he utilised his new surroundings to begin exploring the possibilities of becoming a DJ, which had been his dream since he was 12. He bought a controller, taught himself to play and began spinning at small parties, later becoming proficient with playing vinyl, too. A few twists and turns, including a hiatus from DJing to concentrate on a career in banking, eventually led to AMÉMÉ’s decision to go for broke and embrace his dream wholeheartedly. The early stages and influences in his life imbue his approach to DJing and production; chants, drums, African musical culture, impeccable selection, performance, French house… it’s all there in the DNA of his unique sonic identity. Thanks to his analytical mind, he was aware that it was crucial to establish other creative outlets alongside his DJing. This led to the birth of One Tribe, a multifaceted platform which includes an events wing and a fashion label. He became connected with New York’s highly influential House Of Yes, which served as a launchpad for his vision. In 2019 he moved to Berlin and made contact with Rise, the subdivision of Watergate, forming a bond with the afrohouse outfit. Living in the German city further cemented his love for electronic music culture, and fueled his growth as an artist. AMÉMÉ’s ability to connect with people and make things happen has been evident throughout his entire career. He has a considered approach to his ambitions, and plans his movements accordingly. This natural aptitude for strategising and forward thinking, combined with his passion for making and sharing music has put him in a position where he has been the master of his own destiny. For a relative newcomer to the electronic music world, his rise has been astounding, galvanized by this enlightened approach. AMÉMÉ’s empire continues to grow in tandem with his profile, demonstrating that true talent rises to the top. His sincere and humble determination places music and community at the forefront of his actions, with positive intent behind every new shift and evolution. From Benin to Brooklyn to Berlin, his worldly outlook and unrelenting drive means AMÉMÉ will be hosting his own percussion-fueled rituals on dance floors across the world for many years to come - uniting the global community and reminding us that we are all One Tribe.
