Equally adept at playing propulsive deep techno, as she is at exploring hazy breaks, sumptuous downtempo, soaring trance, expansive drone, and even full-throttle drum and bass, Sybil’s sets often criss-cross through all of these genres and more, as she guides dancers on journeys which are emotive, thrilling and ultimately revitalising. Based in London, a notable UK-flair for genre-fluidity and diagonal rhythms can be found within her psychedelic techno excursions. Sybil’s DJing has taken her across revered events and venues on the global stage. These include: Sustain Release, Waking Life, Dekmantel, Paral·lel Festival, Positive Education, Butik Festival, Nowadays, De School, Berlin Atonal, WHOLE Festival, Dimensions, La Nature Festival, Mo:Dem, Transcendance (Japan), Miscellania (Melbourne), Harmony (Prague), ZVUK (Kazakhstan) and Discos Movimiento (Mexico City). Whilst Sybil’s club sets are often geared for energetic dance floor exhilaration, her numerous mixes are notable for their highly visual narrative arcs. Subtly accelerating and decelerating between disparate BPMs, she stitches together music from a broad palette of textures, contrasting new finds with long forgotten gems to create memorable journeys which are both rewarding and entrancing. Marco Pellegrino’s musical taste was shaped mainly by club nights happening in Brancaleone and Goa club in Rome in early 2000’s, opening his views on the Detroit sound and his North-European reinterpretations. Meanwhile he approached DJing, and started digging into diverse styles, selecting over the last 15 years an extremely versatile records collection, that shapes his current sound. A lover of long, hypnotic, and groovy sets, the skilled dancefloor director has earned the respect of many with her impeccable programming and polished style. Her sets feature dark and smooth grooves at the crossroads of progressive house, techno, and breaks. So-Fi became a resident DJ at Superluminal in 2018 and is currently part of the curation of the events and podcast series Superluminal.fm alongside Matthias and Ancut. After a praised performance at Nostromo Festival in 2021, So-Fi has been swinging her record bag around the world, performing at clubs and festivals such as Tresor/Globus, OXI, Hoppetosse, Club der Visionaere, Else, RSO, Renate, Watergate, FOLD, Radion, PRST, Les Enfants Brillants, Rex Club, Horst Club, Macadam, LAAK, SX Seoul, S.A.S.H Sydney, Dimensions, Opera Festival, Transcendence.
