Better known as Blade from The Sect, Dave Section 63 was drawn to the breakbeat hardcore emanating from London’s pirate radio stations in the early ‘90s, collecting records and tape packs for events he was still far too young to attend. By the end of the decade, he had released various hardcore records under the alias Blade, but was undoubtedly a Drum & Bass head, DJing on several pirate radio stations and working at DnB specialists Tripp2 Records. During this time, he became a resident at the legendary Paradox parties and a fixture at events on the south coast. Joining forces with Virtua and fellow Paradox resident Method to form The Sect, the trio’s first release was on DJ Red’s Distance Recordings in 2003. However, they really exploded onto the scene in late 2006, with their debut single on Obscene and self-titled EP on Offkey dropping in the same week. Numerous singles, EPs and remixes across a host of seminal labels swiftly followed, cementing both their status at the forefront of the burgeoning Techno-DnB movement and their place in the wider scene. Operating as a duo from 2009, Blade and Virtua maintained a relentless release rate and DJ schedule. Their album ‘Fractured State’ was released on Subsistenz in 2011 and they founded their own label - The Sect Music – the following year. At the end of 2017, after countless hours in the studio and DJing extensively around the world for more than a decade, The Sect released The Shutdown EP, before performing for the last time on New Year’s Eve, signalling the end of the project. Initially intended as an alias to explore other styles of Drum & Bass, the first Section 63 release was a collaboration with Mako on Warm Communications in 2016. Dave adopted the moniker full-time in 2018, with his debut EP dropping on Mute:8. A steady flow of singles, EPs, collaborations and remixes has followed since on labels including VIA, Mute:8, Perkussiv and Subtrakt, with plenty more music scheduled for release in the coming months.Their RA profile lists Warm Communications, Perkussiv, The Sect Music, KRYTIKA Productions and 1 more.often with Shurui, Xepeia, Aynaet, none of them here that night

Since the beginning of the nineties, DJ Upzet is a fan of electronic music. At first he was attracted to Acid and Minimal Techno. 1997, at the age of 16, he discovered his all-consuming passion for drum & bass music and in 1998 he started mixing it. 1999, at the age of 18, he discovered his all-consuming passion for drum & bass music. Since this time, Upzet has been constantly motivated to perfect his mixing skills and he attaches great importance to diversity in all of his sets. Today, Liquid Funk, Deep, Dark, Tech and Neurofunk are his usual styles, but mixing Oldskool Jungle and Happybreakbeat also gives him a sense of delight. In 2001, after experiences with various artists, he started organizing drum & bass events. In 2009, Upzet moved to Berlin, where he's still djing and where he promotes some clubdates like "Out of Mind", "Step higher", "Infected", "Lucid Dreaming" and other special events . In 2010 he founded the Berlin based Out of Mind Crew: Upzet, DJane Cyrilla, Nursa, Hardy, Stone and SolHo. 2013 is when Upzet finally stepped into the world of making producing beats, he is currently working on his first set of tracks so watch this space!
