When you hear creeping high hats, hypnotic beats and a pop of acid, chances are you‘re hearing Britta Arnold from the console of her musical spaceship. Straightforward and distinctively poised, her unique blend of beats makes for a milkshake of cosmic potency. For this elegant fire red, her pledge to break norms and find the hottest music on the block has gained her quite the following and opened up a fantastic world of people, places and special moments. Since co-founding the Bar25 label in 2006, her nights are spent playing gigs anywhere between Asia, America and Europe, while many of her days are spent in the studio where she dreams up new music. She has released on Katermukke and Heinz, remixed tracks by ‘It boys’ Satori and Stavroz, and been remixed by the likes of Claude VonStroke and Ruede Hagelstein. Aside from this, her new musical project ‘Britta Unders’ with Amsterdam based Unders, is adding even more magic to her minutes. They are playing sets from sundown to sunrise together all over the world but also started a new label Happy Camper, this will be launched November 2017 with artists as Mira, Be Svendsen, dOP and Noraj Cue. When not doing these things, she’s probably planning her GRRR Mit BRRR party — a celebrated event at the Berlin club, Kater Blau. A born and bred Berliner who never had to learn how to be one, Britta reflects the city in which she still calls home: a little edgy, a little down to earth and always filled with artistic ambition. Having once lived in a caravan with her cat ‘katuscha’ on the grounds of the Bar25, she takes this Happy Camper vibe with her into every space she enters, whether the club, the festival, the studio or a walk through her home town. With the support from her global electronic family pushing her in the right direction and a naughty box of tunes on her back, the future of this lady from outer space only goes from strength to strength. So get your space suit on and go intergalactic roaming with your best friends and lovers. Do it to the hypnotic and wired sound of Britta Arnold.Their RA profile lists Lebensfreude Records, BAR25, Dantze, Katermukke and 5 more.Recently at Golden Gate, Kater · often with Chris Schwarzwälder, Mimi Love, Sascha Cawa, none of them here that night

Caleesi has developed her very own signature sound that has been shaped by influences of Urban Cosmonaut’s musical diversity, ranging from world music to downtempo deep house. But her influences reach far further and also include artists like Nicolas Jaar, Mira, Lauryn Hill and many more. Caleesi is an electronic music artist based in Berlin. Her music is diverse in style yet consistent in vibe: with an ear for melancholia that goes beyond genre or tempo, she often combines deep basslines with an emotional touch. Her sets tend to build up tension slowly, gradually releasing a flow that travels through warm synth lines into different moods and atmospheres. She loves to tell a good story and has created her own kind of synergy in the process; mixing moody melodies with textured beats as the vibe continues to ebb and flow.Last at Kater in Nov · often with Sven Dohse, Mimi Love, Gina Sabatini, none of them here that night

Born in East Germany to a renowned photographer and a classical musician, she began DJing in 1996 and quickly rose to prominence as part of the growing underground techno scene around Leipzig and Halle/Saale. Her dedication to her craft and natural talent swiftly paid off, leading her to substantially shape the electronic music scene of Eastern Germany from that point on. In 2006, Mira moved to Berlin, Europe’s capital of electronic music, where she found her musical home at the legendary Bar25 and, later, Kater Blau. It was here that Mira rose to fame throughout Europe and the world, becoming a defining representative of a distinctive sound that was going global. Deep and soulful while always maintaining a continuous, sensual groove, Mira’s sprawling, hypnotic sets became the soundtrack for many an endless night. The centerpiece of Mira’s residencies at these clubs has been her yearly birthday event, ‘Katzen Tanzen auf’m Tisch,’ which runs for three days straight every December in Berlin. Curated by Mira from a selection of old friends and new faces, the series has hosted a multitude of then-unknown artists who have since gone on to tour the globe. Alongside these legendary parties, she also hosts the regular ‘Mira invites’ events, where she invites a refined selection of artists to provide the soundtrack to those long Berlin nights. Recently, Mira has been using her careful ear for talent as label curator for the Kiosk I.D. imprint, a relatively new project that perfectly complements her already-established reputation as a vital progenitor of the scene. Sifting through hundreds of demos by new and unknown artists every month, the label has become a central part of her creative practice in recent years as she seeks to push and encourage the upcoming generation of producers. In the studio, Mira often collaborates with her partner-in-crime Christopher Schwarzwälder, and the two have released a host of chart-topping singles. This partnership has since carried over to dancefloors globally, where their legendary back-to-back sets create a perfect musical dialogue between two artists who share a deep understanding and love of sound. Mira has been at the height of her game for the past twenty years, continuously shaping the sounds around her and never ceasing to push and inspire new artists. As happy playing in a small underground club in East Germany in the ’90s as she is playing to thousands of festival-goers at some of today’s biggest festivals, Mira is truly one of those artists who can be said to do it for the love of the music. Every time a new track by an undiscovered producer falls into her lap, it’s a new moment for her to fall in love with her craft all over again—and to share that love with the tens of thousands who hear her play.Their RA profile lists Fenou, Einmusika, URSL, Katermukke and 6 more.Last at Kater in Nov · often with Chris Schwarzwälder, Mimi Love, none of them here that night

Egyptian born and now Barcelona based, as an artist Raxon is testament to the adage that passion and determination will take you where you want to be. Days, nights, months and years in the studio have contributed to a string of revered releases in recent years, on the globe’s most sought after imprints. Raxon studied and worked as an architect in Dubai, but it was in 2010 he decided to focus on his vocation... electronic music. His journey through sound led him to the awe-inspiring Barcelona in 2014, where he started to release music with some of the most respected labels on the dance music scene such as Ellum, Diynamic, Kompakt, Cocoon and more.. His love for music comes from the late 90s in his early teens, with major influences spanning rock, hip-hop, trance, house and sci-fi movies. “Thomas Schumacher was eleven years old when Depeche Mode released Construction Time Again.”

the whole biography
Thomas Schumacher was eleven years old when Depeche Mode released Construction Time Again. "I'll never forget sitting at home, listening to the album in my headphones, trying to figure out how they made those sounds." Thirty-four years later, Thomas Schumacher still burns with curiosity. The Berlin-based DJ and producer makes light of his status as one of the most enduring, versatile artists in electronic music. "What I love about Techno is that it demands that you question yourself, reinvent yourself." Thomas Schumacher is always pushing his own boundaries. "The art of being relevant," he says, "Is to forget what you know.” In his early days as an artist, he had to learn how to physically create the sounds he heard in his head. Now, as a virtuoso, the challenge is to use his breadth and depth of musical knowledge to convey profound emotion. "Techno is not just a tool to make people dance," he says. "It is a very personal, intimate way of expressing myself." This intimacy fuels the unique vibe of a Thomas Schumacher DJ set. He compares himself to the captain of a ship. “I purposely steer my sets into rough waters. I want to help people get out of their heads and into their bodies. I create a safe space for people to lose their minds, in the best possible way. They know they don't need to worry or be afraid, because I’ve got them. I know what I'm doing. They can let go and just be." When not guiding clubbers through seas of sound, Schumacher reaches them via his productions on his label Electric Ballroom, and his weekly NOW podcast. NOW is a showcase for his low-key charm and impeccable ear for a great tune. And, like his DJ sets, the podcast is a forum for his studio output including the recent Natural Rhythm EPs on Noir. The more you do, the more there is to explore, the more opportunities to invent, connect, and imagine. "I am always the one to change it up," Thomas Schumacher grins. "My ongoing ambition is to connect to the crowd, year after year. It's what lights me up." His latest release, Natural Rhythm III on Noir Music, lit up the Beatport Techno chart, going straight to Number 1. Its highlight is "Stella", a propulsive anthem dedicated to his daughter. He sees no reason to compartmentalise his music and life. Everything is connected, everything is authentic. "There is no other version of me," he says. "When you meet me, you meet Thomas Schumacher." Based in Berlin for over a decade, dynamic Austrian duo Foehn & Jerome have drawn influence from their surroundings, holding down a residency at Club der Visionaere with their Perfumed Freedom events, cementing themselves in the thick of the melting pot scene of the city. In the next period of their career they will explore new territory, extending the Perfumed Freedom umbrella to a record label, releasing music from themselves and other artists they admire, and a fresh label alongside Alexander Skancke and Henriku, titled “TBH”. After becoming flatmates in Berlin 2011 they began their joint quest holding down a residency at Vienna hotspot Grelle Forelle for the “Cafe Sturz” events, during this time they hosted the likes of Zip, Sammy Dee, Vera and many more. They then moved their attention to Berlin and ever since have been residents at Club der Visionaere, with some early events under various names before starting their anticipated Perfumed Freedom parties in 2018, allowing them to grow an extensive community through the years, and still going strong to this day inviting artists such as Daniel Bell, Thomas Melchior, Mathew Jonson, Eli Verveine, Losoul, Rhadoo, Vale Colvin, Felix Hk, Idit Frenkel amongst many other fantastic names. Their intricately arranged productions have led to Foehn & Jerome landing music on integral labels throughout the years, all of which have inspired their journey. You can discover their music on Zip’s Perlon, Sammy Dee’s Ultrastretch, Barbara Preisinger’s Slices Of Life in collaboration with Alexander Skancke on “Public Trouble”. Other bodies of work have been released on Quirk, Gabu, with their earliest work on their co-founded label “Untitled 100” with Argenis Brito and Thomas Grün. Essentially the lifelong works of the pair will now all be directed under the Perfumed Freedom brand, growing a platform to express themselves, gathering ideas, innovative music and their creative vision under one roof, allowing it all to come into fruition.Their RA profile lists Perlon, Ultrastretch, Untitled 100, Quirk and 3 more.Recently at Hoppetosse, ZENNER, DSTRKT Club Berlin · often with Franziska Berns, Sammy Dee, Thomas Melchior, none of them here that night

“The Schumann resonances (SR) are a set of spectrum peaks in the extremely low frequency (ELF) portion of the Earth's electromagnetic field spectrum.”
their own biography
the whole biography
The Schumann resonances (SR) are a set of spectrum peaks in the extremely low frequency (ELF) portion of the Earth's electromagnetic field spectrum. Schumann resonances are global electromagnetic resonances, generated and excited by lightning discharges in the cavity formed by the Earth's surface and the ionosphere. Lightning discharges are considered to be the primary natural source of Schumann resonance excitation; lightning channels behave like huge antennas that radiate electromagnetic energy at frequencies below about 100 kHz. These signals are very weak at large distances from the lightning source, but the Earth–ionosphere waveguide behaves like a resonator at ELF frequencies and amplifies the spectral signals from lightning at the resonance frequencies. The real Earth–ionosphere waveguide is not a perfect electromagnetic resonant cavity. Losses due to finite ionosphere electrical conductivity lower the propagation speed of electromagnetic signals in the cavity, resulting in a resonance frequency that is lower than would be expected in an ideal case, and the observed peaks are wide. In addition, there are a number of horizontal asymmetries – day-night difference in the height of the ionosphere, latitudinal changes in the Earth's magnetic field, sudden ionospheric disturbances, polar cap absorption, variation in the Earth radius of ± 11 km from equator to geographic poles, etc. that produce other effects in the Schumann resonance power spectra.Their RA profile lists Get Physical Music, Traum Schallplatten, Moodmusic, Lebensfreude Records and 6 more.Recently at Golden Gate, Kater, Renate · often with ONNI, Bo Irion, none of them here that night
“Phonk D’s background in music is synonymous with the development of dance music in the 1990s.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Phonk D’s background in music is synonymous with the development of dance music in the 1990s. Born and raised in the greater area of Germany’s Frankfurt am Main, his career as a Dj and producer is an outcome of the cities varied and lively club scene at the time. Raised on an (un-)healthy diet of weekly trips to the now legendary dance floors of nightlife icons like Dorian Gray or Sven Väth’s Omen, Phonk’s pocket money soon started to fully disappear in record shops, while he started to pour these resources and experiences into a first DJ gig in 1997. Followed by the usual training periods of the time (do your own parties, work in record shops, collect more records), and his enthusiasm for breathtaking DJ tricks and skills, his scope extended to hip hop and its roots in funk, soul and disco. Fast forward into the 2000s and Phonk D found himself as part of the fast-paced German rap scene with the production duo Kollege Schnürschuh. Taking care of MCs like Madness or Doell and playing as their backing DJ, he spent the better part of the new century’s first decade working in hip hop. However, old love never dies and Phonk found his way back to his beginnings and the four-on-the-floor rhythm. In 2014, he founded his label Footjob as an outlet for true school house. Ranging from disco influences and sampling techniques to classic deep house, it has all bases covered. With over 30 releases by a recurring string of artists and focussed on the tastes and productions of the label owner himself, it’s among the most reliable sources for that vintage and dry-aged dance sound. That didn’t go unnoticed by labels like Glitterbox, Exploited, Future Disco or Shall Not Fade or even Salsoul records that all featured the production talents of Phonk D. The same holds true for his DJ entity. Representing all these values and experience, it’s impossible to not be enamored by his presence in the DJ booth. With impeccable selections from his core business, carefully curated curveballs and surprises, Phonk D embodies the spirit of old school deejaying propelled into the here and now. Welcome to his world of merry music.Their RA profile lists Exploited, Nite Grooves, Footjob, Shall Not Fade and 6 more.Last at Paloma in Oct · often with Per Hammar, Paramecja, Vero Standke, none of them here that night

But anyone who has experienced RSS Disco live will hear and see: every hand has a task in threading the seams of their genre-spanning sets. RSS Disco have become synonymous with euphoric experiences for festival & club audiences all over Europe. Coming from a background of house and techno they use their straws to slurp across (and to the very bottom of) the cosmic melange that is music. Just add a cocktail umbrella for mixing. The trio, who learned to dance to electronic music in Hamburg, stand for synthesizer disco, acid-dripping house and psychedelic techno like few other electronic musicians. They bring a sparkle that never feels made up. They play big indie festivals as well as Ibiza, dark clubs as well as small dusty dancefloors by lakes. They release mixes for Dublab Radio in Los Angeles, ARTE Concert, or The Lot Radio from New York. Their live recordings or remixes for Tomemitsu, Keshavara, Rupa or Fotos have hundreds of thousands of clicks. And their version of "Les Taxis Pour Les Galaxies / Le Vent Nous Portera" is already a classic and will never stop generating goosebumps on dance floors all over the world. Off the dance floor they also keep busy, running their Label Mireia Records with releases by artists like Johannes Klingebiel, Tomemitsu, Das Komplex, Johannes Klingebiel, Jacques Bon, Zombies in Miami, Casino Times or Lauer and Erobique. Born in West Berlin in the 1970s, the producer has come a long way since first hearing Technotronic’s “Pump Up the Jam” on the radio in 1989, a time when the Berlin Wall was pulverized to the ground and house music reached the city in full force. Growing up on a diet of George Benson and Chic from his American stepfather’s collection, he then entered the quintessential orbit of Hardwax and Tresor in the early ’90s. It was there that he discovered his love of Chicago’s chopped-and-screwed roughness and New York’s groove. The young producer took his influences and transformed them into a template that would come to define his output: he chopped, cut, and reforged loops into his first Soundhack release in 1997, which was met with instant acclaim, as well as his first official Soundstream release in 1999, “Good Soul”. Since then, each new Sound Stream, Soundhack, or Smith ‘N’ Hack record (his singular collaboration with friend and peer Errorsmith) is greeted with anticipation by DJs, producers, and fans around the world. The pace for his output—released every few years in a measured fashion, but always instantly classic—has kept up with the quality of releases, from the timeless “Live Goes On”, “Bass Affairs” and „Love Remedy“ to his recent triple album „Disco Fantasy“. Tightly sampling disco and funk and overlaying them with pummeling kicks, his tracks are always instantly recognizable, dance floor bombs—crossovers as likely to be found in the bags of disco heads as much as house producers. Helming his DJing craft in the old Tresor and Ostgut, few can lay claim to having played at Berghain/Panorama Bar around 200 times since its doors opened in 2004, a residency that has cemented Soundstream’s DJing reputation at home and abroad. A look into his bag reveals lovely disco 12 inches, dirty Chicago house, immortal club classics, and dew-fresh jams—all blended, mixed, and sliced together with style, grace, and his trademark smile. Humble and understated, Soundstream doesn’t cater much to the world of social media hype and vacuous musical trends.
