Stump Valley’s natural race begins in the hills of Turin, the Italian MotorCity by the alps. The duo produced their first wave of music sampling a large collection of records inherited from Dj Peppe Afro an unsung hero of the Italian Cosmic Era to whom they dedicated their mini LP “Magica Movida” on Rush Hour (No Label). They are compulsive crate diggers of italo disco and Italian afro-cosmic records. In 2014 Stump Valley opens their Magica Movida Studio in Berlin. Featured in the Italo House Documentary by Diadora, their conception evolves from a dusty warm old school sound transitioning into modern aesthetics. Similar is the approach to the dj set, accurately digging into rare grooves to create a singular mix of genres. Active on the scene for the last 10 years with gigs at Panorama Bar, Concrete, Rex, Corsica Studios, Le Bain NY, Boiler Room, they are regulars at Dekmantel festivals (Lente Kabinet, Dekmantel Selectors) and released their first LP “Natural Race” on the dutch label in 2019. Year 2021 brings the duo to the big apple with Soul Clap Records on which they release Melodj Mecca, a tribute to one of the most significant clubs of the Italian Afro movement opened in Rimini in 1981 and Venaria their last single track extracted from Italo Funk Compilation Vol. 2. Stump Valley is featured also on Permanent Vacation 8 Compilation and 2024 sees them working with Toy Tonics on their Every time EP, a Remix for Coeo, their single “Non dire di no” for the Italomania Compilation Vol2 and their collaboration with Barbara Boeing on her last EP.Their RA profile lists Off Minor.Last at ÆDEN in Aug · often with Cleeeo, Barbara Boeing, Liam Mockridge, none of them here that night

the whole biography
Her southern African heritage is an important part of her identity, therefore her focus on Afro Electronic Sounds such as Afro House, Afro Tech, Gqom and Kuduro are an obvious choice within her DJing career. Her passion for the art of music began at a very young age, deeply influenced by her environment. Ukai calls herself an artist, because besides being a Djane she doesn’t let anything stop her from being creative, pushing her boundaries and doing what she wants. Fashion is her other passion, which she combines with her music, by djing live at her self organised Pop-Up Store events. She likes being her authentic self and does so unapologetically. When Ukai started her DJing career, the Afrotech sound was not so common in Germany. In 2012 the event series “The Afrohouse Experience” by Freak de l’Afrique was the steppingstone that finally gave her a platform to play. Ever since, she has used every chance and possibility to perform. In 2018 Ukai broadened her area of expertise by becoming a producer. In 2021, she released her first single “Keine Zeit”, which means “No Time” and is available on all streaming platforms. This has been an exciting milestone in Ukai’s career. The single reflects the way she is in her life. The circumstances and effects of the Co-Vid 19 pandemic led her to realize that life is too short to wait for the perfect time, because every moment is the perfect time to show the world your talent. Today, Ukai has played in various parts of Europe, as well as many African countries such, Kenya, Mozambique, Madagascar, Senegal and finally in her home base, Angola.Recently at Studio1111, Maaya · often with Walter Griot, Mista Wallizz, JANE RYSE, none of them here that night
