The Berlin-based Italian goes further than your average “crate digger” in pursuit of information about sounds, styles, artists and record labels, devoting countless hours to unearthing the untold stories behind the music he loves, regardless of when it was made. Adriani’s obsession has naturally shaped his other musical endeavors, not least Mannequin Records, the label he established over than a decade ago, voted label of the month by Resident Advisor in 2017. Over the years, the imprint has won praise from buyers and critics alike for its open-minded blend of on-point reissues, archival collections and fresh productions. The intriguing, leftfield mixture of material on offer – think techno, electro, cold wave, industrial, EBM, minimal synth, and more – is naturally a reflection of Adriani’s wide-ranging and off-kilter tastes (as you’d discover if you had a quick flick through his vast and growing record collection). Adriani is distinctively drawn towards the dark and obscure, and you can hear this approach amongst the long, drawn-out mixes of his similarly eclectic DJ sets. Alessandro has contributed outstanding mixes for Resident Advisor, FACT, Crack Magazine, Bleep, Cxema and Dekmantel. On the festival circuit he’s made appearances at Berghain, Tresor, Atonal, Boiler Room, Dekmantel, ADE, Dimensions, Neopop, Positive Education, Signal and more, together with his bi-monthly dates at Berghain and Panorama Bar, a residency he’s held from 2016 to 2020. As a producer, Adriani’s output naturally draws on these inspirations, but also reflects his obsession with electronic hardware. Co-founder of the female-focused event series 'Wisdom Tits & The Mad Express presents'. She is part of the Italian label-collective Slow Motion / Wrong Era. Holding a residency at Sameheads, she regularly showcases her sound at the pinnacle of Berlin's venues, across Europe, and in Brazil, solo or as one half of the DJ duo ‘Wisdom Tits’ alongside Caillou. Her sets evoke an old-school nostalgia of the ’80s, weaving through EBM, Electro, Synthpunk and Industrial, smoothly blending with Wave, Obscure Italo and Belgian New Beat. Characterized by powerful kicks, bold basslines, ethereal synths, and enigmatic vocals. Sourced from Latin American basements or snatched from Europe's most suburban warehouses, many of the records from Diamin's collection didn't yet get a proper chance to react with dancefloors. She trades in unrealized, potent dreams and highly reactive substances trapped in vinyl. Her interest in biology turns this experience into something organic & communal, a sort of world-building in real time, where every record is treated with curiosity and care – & it seems to work for dancers and radio shows alike. It's akin to a springboard that Diamin uses to bounce off in different, adjustable directions. Serviervorschlag: queer-coded new wave acts, highly ambitious IDM, encyclopedic psychedelia, usually topped with acid of the deeper, unforgiving kind. Though based on friction between those ingredients, no matter what style you come from, there's room for you to dance and to grow. Diamin has played at venues like Berghain, Bassiani, Tresor, De School, Rex, C12, RSO, among others, and has been featured on platforms such as Boiler Room, NTS Radio, Dekmantel Show x Red Light Radio, Groove Mag, The Ransom Note, Crack Magazine, Inverted Audio, and more. Currently, she is a resident at Mutant Radio (Tbilisi), where she hosts a bi-monthly show. Diamin also occasionally collaborates with queer/LGBTQ+ collectives like Maricas (Barcelona), PLU (Bristol), and Lacura (La Plata).
