Unhuman is the Berlin-based electronic and experimental project of Manos Simotas. Started in 2012 in Athens with his first release "Emperor Black"on tape, Unhuman evolved through different genres ultimately finding his own unique voice in experimental and dark electronics. Keeping his root in post-punk, Unhuman released on labels such as Instruments Of Discipline, Veleno Viola, BITE, Amok Tapes and Strange Therapy. A regular mainstay of major clubs in Berlin, Unhuman has performed all around Europe, Asia and South America and holds the artist in residency at Constant Value in Seoul, South Korea. Unhuman is also the founder of Liber Null Berlin, which has played a critical role of unifying the freedom of arts in a conceptual event in the scene and also operates as a record label. All started with a innate love for rhythms and a cautious way of observing things as a child. Being heavily influenced by his mother, who listened to a lot of black music, he started to dig his way through different genres. Such as Hip-Hop, Rap, Reggae, RnB, Funk, Soul, Jazz - especially bossa nova, psychedelic rock, indie and all kinds of electronic strains... Where he still is hooked till today and refurbishes his aesthetics of sonic formula. At the age of 20 he moved to Berlin and began to dance through the nights at Sisyphos, Tresor, the old Griessmühle, Säule and countless underground venues. Being a child of the night, time passed by and the daylight soon came into touch with his path and started to alter his views on the sound as a body and the raver itself. By assuming to understand pieces of the hidden language of electronic dance frequencies, his love began to grow even deeper and made him produce for himself. The years went by. Connections grew and later on he became part of the collective Concrete Berlin. They began to build a fanbase of pretty intense party-guests, who love relentless and diverse sound. Starting to mix on two technics and a '92 in January 2020, Vinyl became his go-to medium. Blending mostly old school vinyl gems with contemporaries in a rough but deep manner, he enchants the crowd into a harmonic dance trip. Short breaks, strong grooves and colorful elements create a captivating atmosphere, an immersive sonic experience.
