Raised in the Black Sea mountains, Nilgün Özer is a multidisciplinary artist from Turkey, currently based in Berlin. Her work spans various mediums—including music, fine arts, and design—driven by a thematic approach rather than a fixed discipline. Her musical practice evolved from folk and singer-songwriter roots into an experimental approach that blends electroacoustic, ambient, and experimental folk elements. Her recent album, Broken Patterns, reflects this interplay—merging east and west, acoustic and electronic, daily routines and societal unrest. The album features 13 tracks, including two octophonic compositions designed for an eight-channel sound system, immersing listeners in a fragmented yet cohesive auditory experience. Beyond sound, her practice extends into visual and tactile mediums. For Broken Patterns, she created a seven-piece mixed-media painting series, designed a conceptual booklet, and sewed performance attire. Rather than focusing on a single medium, she centers her work around themes or subjects she seeks to explore, allowing each project to take on a life of its own over time. She believes that having space to brew ideas is essential, as it enables the creation of pieces that shape an environment, nourishing these concepts. Katrine Bregnum (Kat Polar) is a danish born Berlin based movement artist, choreographer, musician and singer. The last three years she has been collaborating across disciplines in the fields of dance, music and new media. Being a recident at "Dock digital" as part of Dock11 in 2023, for the AR lab as a choreographer and sound artist. A/V performance in collaboration with new media artist Rahul Sharma both performing since last year at the venues such as "Studio 1111" and "Alte Münze", Berlin. In her solo project she is exploring polarities in sound. Drawing inspiration from both dark and softness. Juana has enticed crowds all over the world at venues such as Berghain, LuxFrágil, Fabric, Smartbar, Basement, Nowadays, and countless festivals and underground warehouse gigs. She originally hails from the city of Chicago where she cultivated her love for the underground at clubs like Smartbar and The Generator and parties such as Soul in the Hole and Boom Boom Room. She began DJing in roughly 2001 and moved to DC in 2003 where she began hosting weekly live internet radio shows on HandzOnRadio (Baltimore) and Cyberjamz (Tampa) and playing parties in the DC scene, upping her skills alongside her mentor and legendary DJ Sam “the Man” Burns, and at clubs including Red and the DC Sanctuary. Juana started obsessively collecting disco and early house records in the late 90s and eventually developed an undying penchant for straight-ahead techno and deeper, darker shades of first and second-wave Chicago dance music. In the 2010s, Juana made her mark in DC as one of only a handful of techno DJs and a resident of the legendary rave, Sequence, and started regularly touring North and South America and EU. In the 2020s, Juana picked up major momentum, becoming a resident of the renowned rave Unter and making frequent appearances at Basement, Nowadays, and Paragon. She has been a founding member of the DC QT BIPOC collective NOXEEMA JACKSON since 2021, and in 2026, joined the MERGE collective. As a producer, her most recent EP “We Are Everything We Think We're Not” was released in March 2024, and she has also appeared recently on releases from the No Mercy, World Building, and Perimeter Junk labels.
