elliephunk (she/her) is an old-school CD collector turned Berlin club regular, with an honest passion for music that soothes the soul. Raised between Taipei and KC, with formative years in Spain, her sound draws from global influences: from jazz, bossa nova, RnB / hip-hop, to classic house grooves that now define her signature sets. Her sets balance soulful melodies with spicy rhythms, weaving in handbag vocals, Afro/Latin beats, UKG breaks, and 90’s nostalgia into playful, bass-heavy blends. Beyond the club, she is founder of @casadephunk, a community-rooted project that centers the concept of home, spotlighting queer, POC, FLINTA artists across music, art, fashion, and performance. Richii is a seasoned music lover who’s no stranger to the intricately tasteful fluxes of international underground club scenes worldwide. Starting out as a party promoter in Fukuoka, Richii has led a global\nomadic lifestyle spanning from Japan to Australia and most recently Berlin, allowing her to rack up a considerable portfolio of dancefloor miles in different scenes. Richii’s unique sense of club atmosphere and love for records has inevitably guided her towards the DJ booth, debuting during the high tension Pandemic Summer as a new member of the Sound Metaphors family in a series of events spanning from illegal forest raves to various clubs in Berlin. Temple Rat’s music is more than just a sequence of rhythms; it is a meticulously crafted world defined by cinematic depth and organic, emotionally driven storytelling. Based in Berlin, the project is the alias of Yuxin Mei, a Chinese composer and multi-instrumentalist who has spent years honing a sound that bridges the gap between ancient Eastern textures and the raw intensity of contemporary electronic music. In her artistic practice, Mei explores the relationship between space, environment, and sound. While the Erhu remains a central pillar of her work, her productions weave a rich tapestry of Chinese woodwinds, percussion, and traditional flutes. By utilising self-built sound-design tools and intricate field recordings, she crafts a distinctive sonic identity that leans on deep listening and experimental spatial-audio techniques. This philosophy extends beyond the club into the world of interactive installations and cross-cultural curation, notably through her collectives “Er Ting Ba Fang” (耳聽八方) and “Jia La.” Since her acclaimed EP Composition of Air on Siamese Twins Records, Temple Rat’s evolution has been marked by a constant desire to push boundaries. Her work has received international praise for its ability to balance traditional delicacy with modern industrial grit, leading her to iconic clubs including Berghain, Macadam and RSO. Her recent discography expands with the 2026 release of Some Leaves Must Fall 聽其自然 on the label Buttheads, a project that further explores her signature blend of organic instrumentation and sophisticated electronic structures. Nanzhan Yang is an interdisciplinary artist based in Berlin with nine years of formative experience working and living in London. Yang’s artistic practice across sound, installations, A/V and hybrid live performances, experimental and dance floor DJ sets, sound design for exhibitions and artists films, within contexts ranging from galleries and institutions to club culture, festivals and alternative, independent spaces. DJ&Producer Working as a DJ and producer within club culture is a beloved and important direction in Yang’s artistic world. Nanzhen Yang’s club DJ practice focuses on techno music mainly in two fields - techno for danceflooors and darker, more ritualistic techno. Driving, immersive techno with unique cinematic textures and emotional impact defines Nanzhen’s dancefloor sound. During her eight years in London, she became a regular name at influential East London venue FOLD began a residency with Boudica and remained active within London’s creative communities. Since relocating to Berlin in 2025, Nanzhen has performed at Berghain/Panorama Bar (Säule), RSO, and toured internationally across Asia and Europe. In the same year, she released a single on the London-based label Inferno. Under Nanzhen’s darker, more ritualistic techno path, her sound is known for its dense yet balanced blending of noise, drone, EBM, spoken word, techno, and beyond. She has presented this side of her practice at Volnost in Seoul and with the London label Kaos, both of which strongly align with this sonic field. Experimental Soundscapes Nanzhen’s experimental practice includes experimental DJ sets, live sound performances and more. In her experimental DJ sets, her mixing style continuously explores the use of multiple players—not simply mixing tracks, but deconstructing songs into elements and layers to create narrative-led, cinematic sonic journeys with a strong sense of space and atmosphere. Her live performances and experimental soundscapes frequently work with spoken word, samples, and field recordings. She has presented sound works and performances at leading UK institutions, galleries, and museums, including Tate Britain (2024), Whitechapel Gallery (2024), ICA (2023), Somerset House (2022), and more. A/V and Hybrid Live Performance Nanzhen collaborated with London-based artists Ruka Nayu and Harry Appleyard on A/V live performances at Iklectik (2021) and FormaHQ (2023). She has also presented hybrid live shows, including a collaboration with Taipei- based artist Betty Apple at Groundless Factory in Beijing (2025), and with Rieko Whitfield at Kwia in Berlin (2026). Visual Arts and Installation Yang has exhibited visual and installation works at the Brunel Museum (2019), the Royal Society of Sculptors (2022) in London, and other spaces. Sound Design and Film Score Nanzhen has created sound design for galleries including The Cob Gallery in London for Elli Antoniou’s solo exhibition Passages Through the Caustics (2024), and for M17 Contemporary Art Center in Kyiv (2025).Her most recent film score and sound design work is for the Arts Council England funded film VERTICAL DIALOGUE, directed by Xinyu (2025).
