For a while, he has been using different types of percussion elements. The result is an enjoyable rhythm, which communicates with its audience in a very particular way. In a playful approach, he creates an incredible repertoire of feelings that reproduces within the crowd. Mathias’ various sets include the following sound features: funky, freaky, dashing, dub, slamming, enriched by African and South American percussions. Inspired and motivated by the first House & Techno DJs at Bioxultra in Gera he got his first turntables at the age of 14. One could argue it is necessary to live wherever the sound rises at a particular time. However, Mathias draws on his own strengths. Away from sated urban in- and output, he has always maintained the objectivity for his music. For 7 years, he has been the resident DJ of the well-known club Muna. He is not only DJing there, but he also supports talented folks within the Freshblood project. Additionally, he is jointly responsible for the Klanglauf events at Kassablanca in Jena, as a DJ and organizer. Together with Marek Hemman, Mathias released 4 EPs on the label Freude am Tanzen and 4 own EPs on Vakant. Amongst others, he also did remixes for Matthias Tanzmann, Onur Özer, Dapayk, Anja Schneider, Daniel Stefanik and Trentemöller. DJing and, later on, the production of electronic music have been his occupation since 1996. With his style of work, Mathias joins those, who refuse to produce and release music excessively. I’m a music producer, DJ and the founder of my label, Black Catalogue. My passion for all facets of dance music have made me one of the most versatile DJ’s you will hear. My journey thus far in the pursuit of an education in club culture has taken me from my hometown Los Angeles to San Francisco and then to Detroit and Berlin, the latter of which I now call home. In my DJ sets, you can hear me restlessly ranging between the worlds of Dark Disco, eclectic House, Dub and Deep Techno in a seamless fashion. In my mind, these blending visions force a conversation and energy exchange between myself and the dance floor. What often emerges is something new and unexpected. I have recorded music and created remixes for labels such as Hypercolour, Rekids, Planet-E, Classic, KMS, Cadenza, Blood of Thrones, 2MR and of course my own Black Catalogue imprint, among others. To date, Black Catalogue has 30 releases and counting. Outside of the club, my primary focus is on music production and my monthly residency at Refuge Worldwide. Sound, vision, energy and passion. Hailing from the deep swamplands of Southeast Finland, it’s no surprise Annina’s exposure to electronic music was found while traveling elsewhere - in fact, it was becoming involved in the Sydney scene which spawned her love for dance music, and ultimately inspired her move to Berlin in 2018. It was there she became focused on her groovy but upfront sound and met like-minded music heads eventually co-founding the minimal collective Zapped Berlin in 2021. Sound has been a passion and music a significant element of life for Australian-born producer and DJ Papa K for many years. Operating in a world between digital and analogue he can be found driving dance floors using a fusion of sound layers rooted in micro house, minimal techno and breakbeat. With both vinyl and digital offerings on labels such as Sydney’s ‘Touch of Loft’ and more releases, his productions continue to present new ideas. Delavas started playing as a DJ on several bars, clubs and underground events in Stockholm in her early 20’s. She discovered electronic music and the scene by entering raves and parties in the hometown at the age of 16. Quickly she gained a big network around her. In 2021 she joined the team behind club NEU (Stockholm) for two years and immersed herself in to the music scene more as a booker / nightclub manager. Since then she got more opportunities to play abroad. Delavas has been curating music in clubs like Sisyphos, Kater and Golden Gate in Berlin, club Module in Copenhagen and on the top of Austrian mountains in Innsbruck with Bögen Radio, to mention a few places. Delavas has a classical schooled music background. Besides playing on CDJs, the piano plays a big role in her life. Today she is diving in to music production and developing new skills for her creative expressions. Some of her inspiration sources are vinyl music, ambience and rhythmic creativity. Playing various of genres cuts the limitations off. Delavas focuses on warm analog sounds as a vinyl admirer, but keeping herself up to date with new productions. In house music she likes to travel between chicago-house and percussions, minimal, techy and acid sounds, while adding in electro as well. In fast-paced hypnotic techno, she dives for ambient pads, textures, on top of polyrhythmic grooves. Between Grooves and Genres CYKO likes to experience and try out different rhythms, pace, to combine elements from different genres in order to bring something out of the ordinary to the mix. Coming from a dark repetitive techno world, he softened himself over the years, aiming for a groovier approach to his sound. The roots are still there, the journey through his musical universe has just taken off.
