“Dance, dance otherwise we are lost” the larger than life modern dance choreographer and ballet director Pina Bausch once said. The Cologne based DJ and producer Esther Silex deeply believes in those words of wisdom and took the statement as one of many inspirations behind her debut EP “Pachamama” for Sweden’s finest free spirited electronic music label Studio Barnhus. The EP title refers to the old mother earth goddess of the indigenous people of the Andes, who is an independent deity that has her own creative power to sustain life on planet earth. For Silex she is a divineness that follows her on each and every step as a female with groove in her heart. After a nomadic upbringing all around Europe she started to play records at the tender age of 17 and quickly became an integral part of Cologne’s house and techno scene. Her sets are anything but predictable, with an eclectic selection that somehow weaves seamlessly through techno and house to soul, funk, afro and disco. The Brvtalist is a DJ, writer, promoter and creative director with a focus on mutant metropolitan culture. Since 2013, the platform of the same name has featured, collaborated and/or performed with countless artists across multiple disciplines and a variety sound spectrums. Brvtalist media channels have become a worldwide destination for featuring new tracks, releases and albums from both emerging and established artists across the electronic music world. As a DJ, The Brvtalist fuses together a mix of techno, house, groove, body music and more, playing both sides of the Atlantic, from Los Angeles to New York, Mexico City, Berlin, London, Kyiv, Paris and Tokyo. In 2020, The Brvtalist launched his namesake label, Brvtalist Sound Recordings, which has since released LPs and EPs from Wvalaam Klous, Might Be Twins, Mercury 200, MOIA, Samantha Togni, Tonni 3000, madwoman, Alessandro Nero and many more. Their studio work has led to releases on acclaimed labels such as Gerd Janson’s Running Back, Jen Cardini’s DISCHI Autunno, Cormac’s Polari, Italo Moderni and Jorkes’ Freeride Millennium amongst many others. September 2021, CYRK released their debut album, “Escaping Earth”, on Childhood —the label founded by Blitz Club’s Muallem. June 2022 “Freundschaft”, a collaborative album featuring co-productions with Steffi, JakoJako, Anthony Rother, David Carretta, Jensen Interceptor, Nite Fleit, Alienata, and Ravn Jonassen. 2026 has opened on a high note with CYRK reigniting their TIME ZERO label. The response was instant: vinyl copies of their “Not Human” EP sold out immediately, signalling a renewed appetite for TIME ZERO’s vision and reaffirming CYRK’s pull at the sharp end of the scene. Behind the decks, the duo takes you from the darkest corners to unfelt cheerful heights.
