Italian DJ and producer based in Berlin, Francesco Hamsa has built his identity through a deep connection to underground electronic music and vinyl culture. Originally from Riccione in Italy, his passion for music started early through the study of piano and percussion, before discovering the world of electronic music at the legendary Cocoricò club back in early 2000. That experience sparked a lifelong dedication to club culture. Hamsa vision aims to preserve and create culture within the electronic music scene at a time when the underground spirit of clubbing is increasingly disappearing, emphasizing that music and music culture go beyond commercial value and are rooted in artistic expression and community. Since relocating to Berlin in 2012, Francesco has immersed himself in the city’s underground scene, where he began producing while also performing as a resident for REEF at Griessmuehle, Utopie, and More Now parties under a different alias. Strongly focused on vinyl and his sets are carefully crafted journeys where rhythm, atmosphere, and experimentation merge on the dancefloor. His productions, shaped by 90s aesthetics and early Italian progressive sounds, are defined by a persistent rhythmic drive, intricate and evolving sound design, and a strong sense of forward motion. Arrangement plays a central role in his work, with continuously developing structures that keep tension, movement, and emotion in constant interplay. He has released music on labels including Enchanted Rhythms, Ecke Records, and Nollern. In 2023, Hamsa co-founded Musek Records alongside Italian electronic pioneer Francesco Farfa and mix engineer Denio Barani. Since then, the label has hosted regular events at Club der Visionaere during the summer and Hoppetosse in winter, alongside Italian residencies in collaboration with Wax4Breakfast and Archivio 180.
