Midori, fka Marie Midori, is a Swedish-Japanese artist born and based in Berlin. A beloved part of the city's nightlife family, they've been club-socialized at Griessmuehle (R.I.P), a long-time mentor and core organiser of the legendary Femme Bass Mafia, and to this day the figure behind Crack Bellmer's queer- and community oriented programming. From producing radio mixtapes in their childhood bedroom at the age of six, to busking in odd corners of the globe as a teenage scout leader, to dropping out of university to become a DJ in their early twenties— music has always been the strongest creative constant amid their ever-shifting interests. Influenced by their multicultural background, the natural world, and the whimsical tales of Japanese anime, they enjoy digging between genres in search of pieces that defy easy categorization.
