their own biography
the whole biography
"Nono Gigsta has the unsettling habit of making everything work. Genres that shouldn’t coexist do, tempos slip without warning, and basslines arrive exactly when your internal compass has already given up. Widely described as the DJs’ favorite DJ, their selections remain stubbornly playful, precise, and allergic to formulas. Their 2024 Freerotation set sums it up neatly: fantasy-grade atmospherics dissolving into dancing mania, freakish jazz and pop samples smuggled in for mischief, and a glitched palette from around the world folded into an unbridled bass logic that refuses to sit still, slipping between half-time drag, D’n’B pressure, acid-licked steppers and dubwise afterglow. Since 2019, they have declined air travel in favour of trains, boats and time itself, including a transatlantic sailboat crossing followed by a public-transport-only tour of North America. Offline by design and largely faceless online, they channel their surplus energy into research-heavy radio shows, self-run parties, listening retreats and a quietly devoted newsletter chronicling scenes, books and slow movement." https://www.instagram.com/p/DV_rLVmjdWc/Recently at Ikii, OHM, arkaoda Berlin · often with CCL, WHEEL OF FORTUNE, Marylou, none of them here that night

The Bay area native is an electronic music pariah who enjoys disintegrating and destroying dance music tropes through bizarre and wonderful sound potions. Frequent collaborator of Dark Entries records, he released his debut LP “Shaytoon” through their imprint in 2020. His DJ sets can range from off-kilter house and psychedelic techno, to haute electro, aphrodisiac acid and freaky jakbeat music. In late 2017 he began performing live PA sets, sonically ranging from potent drum cocktails to psychedelic and oxygenated soundscapes.
