ABS8LUTE is a French DJ and music activist known for her hypnotic and percussive techno style. She draws from her Caribbean heritage the ability to create a unique multi-layered primitive atmosphere with an irresistible groove that won’t give the dancers any rest. Her influence extends beyond the clubs as she is a strong advocate for the representation of women and minorities in electronic music. She founded the Vénus Club, a feminist collective promoting FLINTA DJs and gives DJ workshops to empower marginalized communities. Over the years, the duo have developed a signature sound that sits between hypnotic, tension-building arrangements and driving, functional techno. Their productions carry a strong old-school foundation while continuously pushing toward a more modern and refined club aesthetic. Together with their close friend Daniel Heinrich, Disguised founded Inherit Records in 2020 — an imprint built as a platform for their own artistic vision as well as for like-minded artists. Alongside releases on their own label, they have also become part of the Mutual Rytm family and have released music on respected imprints such as Vault Sessions. THC’s sets are kinetic, propulsive in this way. High-energy without a loss of soul, hard-hitting and still very playful and very gay. We are reminded that techno need not be a gloomy, rumbling march, and that house has a whole range of attitudes at the same time ruthless and smiling. She blazes, to put it simply. Having heated Berlin dancefloors and airwaves for a few years, THC is one of the founders and resident at La Noche. She has her own show HOT BOX on Rinse FM, and has released mixes via Crack Magazine, DJ Mag, Fact Mag and NTS. The last year has also seen her playing alongside her sibling DHC as the duo unit S-candalo. Nuno Costa began his ventures into electronic music in 2008 with his Sinner moniker, and with it he created Warface, a local crew and promoter focused on dubstep, drum ’n’ bass, and UK garage. In 2013 he kickstarted his new project, VIL, focusing mainly on techno, electro, breaks, and house music. His debut EP came in early 2015, when Portuguese label Extended Records picked him up for a release. Soon after, he released on Lewis Fautzi’s “Faut Section” imprint and on the legendary techno imprint Synewave New York, run by Damon Wild. VIL’s refined taste and set building ability has already earned him a place at some of the best clubs in Portugal, and is a regular presence at many of the country’s festivals as well. Fast forward to 2018, where alongside Portuguese artists Temudo and menosdois, he creates Hayes, a collective focused on showcasing the distinct output of its artists through vinyl and digital releases.
