the whole biography
With their creative partnership stretching over more than a decade, Frankey & Sandrino are a formidable duo whose output represents an open-minded and experimental approach. Since they got together back in 2009, Frankey & Sandrino have established themselves as a diverse production outfit, choosing to fulfil their creative desires over following trends and hype. Their will to stay true to themselves, through whatever life may throw at them, has led to a wide range of successes, signing their unique productions to labels such as Innervisions, Mule Musiq, Kompakt, Diynamic and their own Sum Over Histories. Together they have established a legacy rooted in authenticity, creativity and a steadfast commitment to their own satisfaction above all else. The result is a discography full of distinct cuts and dance floor anthems, each release representing the duo’s signature sound, while also taking them in new directions. Currently in full flow, with a powerful 2024 already mapped out, Frankey & Sandrino are readying themselves for another upwards shift… Frank Beckers and Sandrino Tittel first bonded with one another through being part of the same friendship group; party people, promoters, DJs, they were all connected through music and, eventually, they got in the studio together. It soon became apparent that their dedication to music had a more serious intent than their friends, and the beginnings of a partnership emerged. Frankey’s formal training and vast experience as a multi-instrumentalist, combined with Sandrino’s diverse tastes; from his native Romanian folk to nineties techno, and more. What keeps these two together is the harmonious balance between their individual energies. Their differences unite them, as well as their mutual understanding. This harmony and balance lies at the root of Frankey & Sandrino’s longevity and ingenuity. Over the years they have developed a dynamic that operates outside the pressures of commercialism. For Frankey and Sandrino, making music is about putting one’s ego to the side, and doing it for the pleasure. Commercially-driven creativity can often become soulless. They cite Rick Rubin’s quote, “The time for commercial considerations is after the work is complete”, when discussing their approach. It’s about emptying the mind, not giving in to external influences and being at one with the process. For Frankey and Sandrino, the most important aspect of making music is achieving a feeling of contentment with what they have produced - reaching a point where they have a deep knowing that their composition is special. This can be heard on many of their biggest hits so far; ‘Acamar’, ‘Wega’ and ‘Ways of the Sun’, for instance. Originality, not following fashion, feeling, not how many likes, or streams, they will get. Of course, this is not the easiest path, but it’s one that they have chosen because, ultimately, it brings the most satisfaction and inspires them to continue making music. There is no formula, no formalised process and that permeates into their music, giving it a distinct flavour. Whether you’re connecting with it on a deeper level, or simply throwing your hands in the air on the dance floor, Frankey & Sandrino’s music embodies a pure spirit that is rare in today’s music culture. From recent cuts such as ‘Optical’ on Crosstown Rebels, ‘Brainscan’ on Rekids and ‘Der Sprung’ on their own Sum Over Histories, going all the way back to ‘The Comeback’ in 2012, Frankey & Sandrino have always pushed forwards. Evolution is paramount, they are always looking forward, never back. If a release blows up, they don’t look to repeat the same formula again. Vocals are always original. Each studio session is almost as though they are starting from scratch. By working like this they keep the energy fresh, and inspiration comes through the process itself, not from outside the studio. On the road they have toured Europe, the USA and South America extensively, playing revered spaces such as Stereo in Montreal, fabric in London, D-Edge in Sao Paulo, Watergate in Berlin and many more. With each performance they bring the same authentic approach, cultivating moments of release and euphoria combined with more subtle elements. All night long appearances, like those at Stereo, especially, giving the duo a chance to achieve the levels of depth with their audience they yearn for. Their label, inaugurated in 2016, continues to support and release music that is aligned with their values. In 2024, the release schedule is packed with artists and releases that epitomise Frankey & Sandrino’s open-minded ethos, while also delivering plenty of good energy to the dance floor. Over the past eighty years, Sum Over Histories has released music from a variety of talented artists including Impérieux, INVŌKER, Skatman, Saint Is and Kris Davis among others. With 2024 already off to a great start, with a return to Innervisions with the Memories EP, which has been causing a stir on dance floors around the world. This is followed by an EP on Mind Against’s Habitat label. The new music delves into styles from the nineties: techno, house, trance… all imbued with the Frankey & Sandrino signature sound. Later in the year, there will be more music too, marking a return to full flow for the duo. Over a decade on and Frankey & Sandrino feel more liberated than ever. Finding their groove with their creativity, and sticking to it, has proven to be a potent catalyst for self-satisfaction. By making themselves happy, they have also provided sonic pleasure for countless people all over the world. Co-signed by some of the world’s most influential labels, while also building their own influential platform, Frankey & Sandrino’s strength lies in their longstanding friendship, their unwavering commitment to stay true to themselves and a love for music that runs way deeper than they could ever put into words… So, kick back and let their productions do the talking.Their RA profile lists Kompakt, Innervisions, Moodmusic, Drumpoet Community and 5 more.Last at Kater in Nov 2025 · often with HOPPER, Predex, Blu:sh, none of them here that night

“3am in a dark and sweaty club room or late afternoon on a sunny rooftop?”

3am in a dark and sweaty club room or late afternoon on a sunny rooftop? Marius Holm knows how to set the vibe fast - no matter what scenery. His ability to fuel up the crowd for a marathon of excitement and groove has brought him to clubs across Berlin, Ibiza, Tulum and Amsterdam. Marius' musical journey began at the age of ten, spending countless hours in his bedroom mastering jazz guitar. Before long, he was playing in multiple bands spanning Pop, Punk, and Metal. However, as his studies took him across Europe, committing to a band became increasingly challenging. Just as things would fall into place, it was time to move on. Everything changed in his early 20s when he discovered electronic music—it clicked: Marius realized he could be his own "band," creating and producing tracks independently. After moving to Berlin, Marius quickly immersed himself in the city’s vibrant club culture. He discovered the missing piece of the puzzle: performing live and taking audiences on a journey through his mixes, much like a concert experience. His passion for blending diverse styles and genres fueled his desire to craft the ultimate musical journey, earning him sets at Berlin’s iconic venues like Watergate, Ritter Butzke, and beyond. Two seasons in Ibiza and Tulum solidified his reputation as a dynamic, genre-spanning DJ.Their RA profile lists Indiskret Berlin Records.Recently at Ritter Butzke, Weekend · often with DOS (DE), Le TIZI, DOS, none of them here that night
