ABS8LUTE is a French DJ and music activist known for her hypnotic and percussive techno style. She draws from her Caribbean heritage the ability to create a unique multi-layered primitive atmosphere with an irresistible groove that won’t give the dancers any rest. Her influence extends beyond the clubs as she is a strong advocate for the representation of women and minorities in electronic music. She founded the Vénus Club, a feminist collective promoting FLINTA DJs and gives DJ workshops to empower marginalized communities. She is also one of the Artistic Director of forward-thinking Parisian collective Kluster. Her distinctive rhythmic approach has secured her a place on impressive line-ups as well as regular appearances at notorious Berghain.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Born in Italy and now rooted in Berlin, DHÆÜR started his journey as a devoted digger, driven by an obsessive search for deep and rare sounds. Over the years, he has developed a strong and recognizable artistic voice - defined by precision, depth, and a restless push for sonic innovation that bridges the worlds of DJing and production. His productions have steadily earned international recognition, finding their way onto respected labels and resonating across some of the most uncompromising dance floors of recent years. On the decks, DHÆÜR operates with a clinical precision rooted in a deep understanding of psychoacoustic dynamics. His sets draw from an old school minimal techno vocabulary, recontextualised through a modern and unmistakably personal sonic identity - hypnotic sequences held in constant tension by precisely placed rhythmic breaks. It is a technical, almost austere approach, one that treats the acoustic space itself as an instrument. In 2024, DHÆÜR founded Consciousness, a community-driven project that merges documentary and party formats to shed light on the people and invisible forces that sustain club culture. At its core is a commitment to diversity, memory, and building something lasting in an ecosystem that too often forgets where it came from. As part of this research, he completed a six-week residency in Detroit - going deep into the movement's cultural roots and bringing that knowledge back into the project's vision. DHÆÜR’s path moves with purpose and a clear, determined path through the music.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Calm, cool and collected, Efdemin’s music is infused by elegant darkness, discreet beauty and the complete lack of jittery. With LPs and 12-inches for Dial, Curle and Ostgut Ton, his remixes (e.g. Depeche Mode), his Pigon project together with RNDM or his drone and ambient pieces under his original name Phillip Sollmann for instance, Efdemin is equally at home in very different circles. In the world of art as much as in the techno realm, and while moving from intelligent pop quotes into the universe of Sun Ra, he does the splits effortlessly and without overstretching it. A sonic thesaurus like his second album Chicago finds his place in Efdemin’s body of work as well as the stripped down funk of “Just A Track”, the urgency of “Acid Bells” or the straightforwardness of “Bergwein”. Going well along with all those gestures and desires is his own Label naïf. Accordingly named and vinyl only, it’s his outlet to release music from friends and allies that is close to his heart.

“Leaning into the hypnotic, the tension-building, and the euphoric release—Lolsnake (she/they) does not simply play to a room, she creates it.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Leaning into the hypnotic, the tension-building, and the euphoric release—Lolsnake (she/they) does not simply play to a room, she creates it. With a fluid, genre-defiant approach, her sets move between the reduced and the raw, the dramatic and the unpredictable, stirring up heady atmospheres and hypnotic moods on the dancefloor. Driving rhythms and intricate sound design sit alongside moments of startling emotional depth — a sonic signature that is at once intense and deeply feeling, cerebral and magnetically unpredictable. A regular at Berghain, Lolsnake is also the founder of Weeeirdos, a queer platform that champions subversive joy, curiosity, and community. As a DJ and visual artist, her multifaceted background fuels a perspective that is both boundary-pushing and deeply rooted in connection — her sets a constant balance between classic dancefloor accessibility and a desire to push at the edges of genre convention. In 2025, Lolsnake took her sound global, performing at Bassiani (Tbilisi), Basement NYC, WHOLE Festival, and returned to Berghain for several celebrated sets that reflected her evolving sonic palette. Her genre-crossing energy has also been showcased in guest mixes for Mixmag, DJ Mag, The Lot Radio, and Crack Magazine. Weeeirdos, which began in 2017 as a hybrid event combining live music, performance and visual art, has since become one of Berlin's most vital queer dance platforms. In 2023, it moved from OHM to a residency at Säule (Berghain). That same year, Boiler Room invited Lolsnake to curate a Weeeirdos live stream from Berlin's dungeon-like Nåpoleon Komplex. Lolsnake has since been asked to curate key events on the Berghain Mainfloor, The Ground (Space) Miami, Radion Amsterdam, and more. Born in California to Iraqi parents and raised in Oakland, Lolsnake's musical roots trace back to classical training in clarinet, saxophone, and bass clarinet. Her teenage years were shaped by a love of Depeche Mode, Underworld, The Knife, and the Arabic tapes of Oum Kalthoum and Fairouz. A move to Manchester in 2010 to study neuroscience immersed her in the UK's DIY rave scene. Berlin followed in 2014, where she found a deep sense of belonging in the city's queer nightlife. After a decade in Berlin, Lolsnake's sets have matured into shimmering constellations of rhythm — reduced and raw one moment, warm and euphoric the next, with mischievous curveballs at just the right moment. With plans to launch the Weeeirdos label and take the project on a global tour, she remains a powerful force in contemporary club culture: driven by feeling, rooted in community, and guided by no rules but her own.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Widely associated with Berlin and institutions Berghain and Hard Wax, Dettmann has remained true to his roots by consistently seeking to innovate electronic music, particularly in regards to integrating visual art and techno. Raised in the former GDR, Dettmann developed his passion for electronic music early, counting new wave, post-punk and industrial music as his strongest influences – long before discovering techno and eventually immersing himself in it. Since the early 90s he has been a fixture in Berlin as both an artist and DJ, becoming a resident at OstGut in 1999. He has also held a residency at OstGut's successor Berghain since its opening in 2004 until today. Dettmann’s productions for his own MDR imprint and Ostgut Ton, as well as his compilations and mixes for fabric, Music Man, !K7 and Dekmantel sit between contemporary techno and pre-techno, providing a unique aesthetic at once reduced and rough, emotional and unpredictable.

  • Rødhåd

“Rødhåd has been shaping his deep and driving signature sound for almost two decades since his early days in Berlin’s off-grid party scene.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Rødhåd has been shaping his deep and driving signature sound for almost two decades since his early days in Berlin’s off-grid party scene. Starting with his first residency at the long-defunct Zementgarten in 2006, he went on playing venues and festivals of all sizes and magnitudes. Known for relentless DJ sets that meld uncompromising techno with highly emotional atmospheres and soundscapes, he’s managed to have a major impact on the world’s most cherished floors while remaining passionately independent. Rødhåd continues to abstain from excessive hype, staying very much connected to the community that formed him. In the last years he deepened his interest in the communal aspect of electronic music even further, curating excessive multipersonal live jams at places like Berghain or Dekmantel Festival. By launching Dystopian in 2009, first as a party series and later as a label, he made a distinct mark on Berlin’s techno landscape through a raw and honest vision, that felt true amid the city’s more dark and industrial edge. With releases from the likes of Alex.Do, Recondite, Distant Echoes or Rødhåd himself, Dystopian cemented itself as one of Berlins major techno trademarks throughout the decade of its existence. In 2017 Rødhåd released his debut LP Anxious, demonstrating his versatility as producer, spanning straightforward techno to dim and dusky ambient tunes. With his latest imprint, WSNWG, he created a platform for collaborative explorations in sound and texture with long-time companions and newfound friends alike. While the label’s core output remains a steady stream of dancefloor oriented 12”s it also released full-length albums that venture deeper into experimental and exploratory territories. The concept album series Out Of Place Artefacts (with Vril) takes the listener on a journey through deep introspection and otherworldly land- and soundscapes, while always always alluding to the rich tradition of electronic music in an abstract and mediated rather than direct way. Released in 2022, the LP In Vere (with JakoJako) departs from the characteristically dark and melancholic undertone of Rødhåd’s work, delving into lush, organic textures and ethereal, arpeggiated themes, also implementing elements of electronica. The sublabel WSNWG Back To Zero is devoted to solo releases and compilations, launched in 2020 through the highly acclaimed LP Mood, comprising archive material from 2017/2018, marking Rødhåd’s first purely ambient and experimental release, free of any dancefloor ambition. Over the years, Rødhåd has proved himself as a proponent of true craftsmanship, applying the same rigour to his work in the studio as to selecting and mixing records. Remaining hands-on, and keeping a down-to-earth mentality - steering clear of spectacle - has made him a long-established staple in the electronic music community.

  • Âme

“In a genre seemingly obsessed with revisiting the past, Âme look firmly to the future of dance music.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
In a genre seemingly obsessed with revisiting the past, Âme look firmly to the future of dance music. Driven toward continual evolution since they started making tracks in 2001, the German duo of Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer have challenged club-goers’ expectations with their conceptually driven and uniquely visceral music. Now over 15 years into their career together, their deep understanding of the clubbing landscape and each other’s strengths allows Âme to stay innovative and relevant in a swiftly paced genre. And as primary partners of the Innervisions label/collective with Dixon, the pair continue to foster the future of house with carefully selected releases, all-encompassing live events, and even their own boutique shop that solidifies the connection between the artists and their admirers. Wiedemann and Beyer first crossed paths in 2000 at the latter's record shop, Plattentasche, in their hometown of Karlsruhe. Bonding over Chicago house, Detroit techno and much else besides, the duo began producing seminal releases for Sonar Kollektiv in 2003. Eager to not repeat themselves, Âme shattered their established sound in favor of a nimble, compositional approach that birthed their club-conquering single, "Rej", and introduced them on the world stage. One could understand if Âme had just pursued the sound that brought them such acclaim. Yet the pair have never rested on their laurels, continuously folding experimental sounds and their deconstructed take on classical composition into singles and remixes built for delighting dancers. From the waltzing proto-techno of "Fiori" to ruminating deep house cut “Rrose Selavy”, they’ve made music for the mind and body with each release. Âme are also known for crafting emotional anthems, strumming at your heartstrings with their cinematic single “Tatischeff” and their glowing and nearly ubiquitous remix of “Howling”. The pair will further expand their sound on their long-awaited debut album. Âme are just as multifaceted when translated to the live arena: What you’ll hear depends on which configuration of Âme is in your city that night. Kristian is the veteran globe-trotting DJ, while Frank, more a creature of the studio, performs dynamic live sets and these days covers just as many miles. Recently the duo have intertwined their DJ and live sets as Âme II Âme, dissolving the boundaries between these formats to deliver peerless experiences that make the most of their respective abilities. Together and apart they frequent the booths and stages of the world’s top clubs and festivals, carrying the Âme sound far and wide. As the core of Innervisions alongside Dixon, the duo translate their forward-thinking approach across the collective’s various arms. The imprint is known for its rigorous quality control, releasing only a handful of records per year, each encased in sumptuous packaging featuring collaborations with established visual artists. Beyer and Dixon provide the label's A&R direction, inviting select musicians – such as veterans like Laurent Garnier, Agoria, and Marc Houle and rising stars Recondite, Rampa, and Trikk – to accompany family members Henrik Schwarz, Marcus Worgull, Tokyo Black Star, and Culoe De Song. Innervisions even handles its own physical and digital distribution, forgoing traditional channels and the pitfalls accompanying them. The group stays connected with their large fanbase with their online/brick-and-mortar shop, MTN Muting The Noise, whose tightly curated offerings of records, clothes, and other items provides the fullest expression of the Innervision aesthetic. They even take their particular perspective on the road, through both their own Temporary Secretary booking agency and their immersive Lost In A Moment parties thrown in unexpected settings. Refusing to step back from the leading-edge or compromise on their exacting standards, Âme remain at the forefront of electronic music.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Under the Priori moniker, Québecois musician Francis Latreille has established himself as a crucial voice in underground techno. Across a sprawling discography, including two full length albums, several eps, and a host of collaborative projects, Priori builds a hyper-detailed world steeped in science fiction and fantasy, residing somewhere between the biological and the synthetic, the actual and the possible. Priori’s meticulously crafted dance music is full of fractalizing patterns, ear-prickling textures, and crystalline melodies that emerge and flicker in stunning detail; it is evocative, enchanting, and always moving. Priori is also an accomplished mixing engineer who has worked with James K, Bambii, Maara, Ex-terrestrial, Roza Terenzi, D.Tiffany, Regular Fantasy, Ramzi, URA and many more. As one half of NAFF recordings and the Jump Source recording studio, Francis is steadily shaping the course of underground electronic dance music in Canada and abroad. On May 30th, 2024, released his third full length album. Entitled This but More, the record sees Priori sidestepping the club in favor of a more contemplative space, yielding electronic compositions layered with acoustic instrumentation and spectral processing. The album includes a booklet of suggested stories by Devon Hansen and animated visuals by Jack Anderson.

“As Matthew E he fashions club-based, dancefloor slayers.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
As Matthew E he fashions club-based, dancefloor slayers. Under that aegis he’s updated the classic Chi-town, jackin’ sound beloved of house aficionados and layered it with fractured funk, belligerent, oddball beats and mechanical soul. If Matthew E is all about the Saturday Night Fever, then, by contrast, Rekid is the slower, more deliberate, rhythmical funk of the mid-week mayhem. Its well-intentioned muscular intensity making it perfect soulful sustenance. Quiet Village is something else all together. A collaboration with long-time musical sparring partner Joel Martin (a vinyl freak, like Mr Edwards, who works in esteemed auction house Christie’s pop department), it’s sample-based music which veers from drawn out disco-not-disco delirium to evocative, under-stated soundscapes. Sea Devils - you keeping up at the back? – is undeniable electronic pop brilliance. Working with Tom from Cagedbaby, it’s the least niche of Matt’s projects and thanks to Sea Devils alluring pop dance grooves they’ll no doubt be shagging the upper reaches of the hit parade sometime soon. Last, but by no means least etc, etc, etc, is Radio Slave. Perhaps Matt’s most instantly recognisable nom de guerre, thanks in part to his inspirational melding of Kylie’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head to New Order’s Blue Monday, this is Matt’s DJ moniker and the guise under which he completes his incendiary remixes and re-edits. However, before such sonic schizophrenia gets you calling for the men in white coats, just feel the quality and consider Matt’s legacy. Fired by the first wave of acid house, Matt gained his musical spurs by partying to dance music that was just that: music you danced to, irrespective of tribal factions. This was the raison d’être he acknowledged when he took to the decks, first at London’s legendary Milk Bar in 1992, then onto the, then, recently opened Ministry Of Sound and then to parties across the country, most notably in Wales – where he was a regular at free parties – and in Brighton, his home since 1998. His love of re-edits, dance music’s oft-forgotten backbone, led Matt into the studio himself. His own re-edits and remixes, such as the aforementioned epoch-defining re-imagining for Ms Minogue, soon gave way to his own productions and since the floodgates opened there’s been no stopping the man known as, erm, Matthew E, Quiet Village, Sea Devils, Rekid and Radio Slave. He’s released records for Skint, Soul Jazz, Classic, Whatever We Want, and he’s worked with fellow travellers, Belgium’s The Glimmers. If Matt comes up with another two projects he’ll have enough alter egos for every day of the week. Psychologists would probably have a field day with him; mercifully, we don’t have to worry about any crisis of identity, we just get to keep on dancing.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Sedef Adasï has spent years refining a style that is both unpredictable and precise—shaped by instinct rather than formula. Her sets go beyond simple selections, evolving into a language between artist and audience. With elegance and ease, she moves fluidly between house, acid, and rhythmic textures, blending raw energy with refinement to create a sound that feels both dynamic and defined. Her sets unfold in real time, guided by the rhythm, movement, and shifting energy of the dancefloor. Born and raised in Augsburg, Adasï resisted the allure of major urban centers, using her local foundation to create something new for her city. This decision led to HAMAM Nights, the party series she launched in 2017 that has since gained international resonance. From the intimate City Club Augsburg to Berghain’s Panorama Bar, Hammam Nights returns to the essence of club culture, creating spaces of warmth, unity, and collective energy. A resident at both Munich’s Blitz Club and Berghain / Panorama Bar, Adasï sculpts nights that are unrepeatable and deeply felt. She moves through sound with instinctive precision, creating an ongoing dialogue with the dancefloor. More than a decade into her journey, she continues to push the boundaries of club music, treating each set as a dynamic exchange—where sound, space, and collective energy come together to create something unique and lasting.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Born in West Berlin in the 1970s, the producer has come a long way since first hearing Technotronic’s “Pump Up the Jam” on the radio in 1989, a time when the Berlin Wall was pulverized to the ground and house music reached the city in full force. Growing up on a diet of George Benson and Chic from his American stepfather’s collection, he then entered the quintessential orbit of Hardwax and Tresor in the early ’90s. It was there that he discovered his love of Chicago’s chopped-and-screwed roughness and New York’s groove. The young producer took his influences and transformed them into a template that would come to define his output: he chopped, cut, and reforged loops into his first Soundhack release in 1997, which was met with instant acclaim, as well as his first official Soundstream release in 1999, “Good Soul”. Since then, each new Sound Stream, Soundhack, or Smith ‘N’ Hack record (his singular collaboration with friend and peer Errorsmith) is greeted with anticipation by DJs, producers, and fans around the world. The pace for his output—released every few years in a measured fashion, but always instantly classic—has kept up with the quality of releases, from the timeless “Live Goes On”, “Bass Affairs” and „Love Remedy“ to his recent triple album „Disco Fantasy“. Tightly sampling disco and funk and overlaying them with pummeling kicks, his tracks are always instantly recognizable, dance floor bombs—crossovers as likely to be found in the bags of disco heads as much as house producers. Helming his DJing craft in the old Tresor and Ostgut, few can lay claim to having played at Berghain/Panorama Bar around 200 times since its doors opened in 2004, a residency that has cemented Soundstream’s DJing reputation at home and abroad. A look into his bag reveals lovely disco 12 inches, dirty Chicago house, immortal club classics, and dew-fresh jams—all blended, mixed, and sliced together with style, grace, and his trademark smile. Humble and understated, Soundstream doesn’t cater much to the world of social media hype and vacuous musical trends. Rather, like all great musicians, he lets the music do the talking.

“Born in the Netherlands, Steffi began playing records in her small home town in the mid 90s.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Born in the Netherlands, Steffi began playing records in her small home town in the mid 90s. In search of broader horizons for her creative expression (a common thread in her artistic journey), Steffi moved to Amsterdam and established herself in the city with DJ residencies and her own underground parties. The diverse approach to sound that she cultivated during this period remains fundamental to all aspects of her creative work today. Resistant to conventional notions of career moves or self-promotion, it was her original vision and pursuit of new challenges that brought her to Berlin in the early 00s and to the city’s emblematic Berghain. As one of the club’s more adaptable residents, Steffi can be found in control of any one of the building’s celebrated dancefloors, transmitting her deep knowledge and appreciation for all forms of dance music. From broken beat, IDM, electro, classic house and Detroit techno to genre-breaking sounds from all eras – Steffi will play it as long as it’s funky and it grooves. Her experience and lasting enthusiasm for her craft have translated effortlessly to the international clubs and festivals – big and small – at which she has long been a staple, as well as to milestone mixes and compilations for Berghain/Panoramabar, fabric and Air Texture. As a producer, Steffi has an extensive discography that reflects her constant development as a musician. A long and fertile relationship with Ostgut Ton began with the release of her hit single Yours (2010) and debut album Yours & Mine (2011) (both reissued in 2022 on DESTEFSTER, her new sub-label dedicated to her own club-oriented output past and present). Two further solo albums followed – Power Of Anonymity (2014) and World Of The Waking State (2017) – and a co-production on Virginia’s debut album, Fierce For The Night (2016). With Martyn, Steffi released the Doms & Deykers album Evidence From A Good Source (2016) on 3024, and under the solo alias Crushed Soul she released the Family Of Waves EP (2020) on Dark Entries. As a remixer, Steffi has worked with both established artists and emerging producers whose music resonates with her, most recently Christine And The Queens, St Vincent, SebastiAn, Josh Caffé, Max Cooper, Azo and FJAAK. Through all of this output, Steffi has developed a varied sound that balances classic dancefloor accessibility with a desire to push at the boundaries of genre convention and production techniques. In parallel with her production work, Steffi has nurtured two long-running labels – Klakson, founded in 2000, and Dolly, founded in 2010 – which continue to release a distinct blend of electro, breaks, Chicago and Detroit house and techno by a range of respected producers to this day. Both imprints have also been home to Steffi’s own joint projects with likeminded artists, such as Dexter, Stingray, Shed, John Daly and, more recently, Sepehr and Privacy (as Negroni Nails). Her reputation for collaboration and expertise in the studio has also seen her perform the role of mentor for several music education programmes, including Red Bull Music Academy in 2018. In recent years, Steffi’s tireless search for new ground has been made tangible in a permanent move to Portugal, where, with Virginia, she founded the label, studio space and artist-driven creative hub Candy Mountain, a platform through which she continues to push herself and the community around her forwards. This new home base in the hills outside Lisbon – framed by an abundant garden that she tends with the same care as her ever growing studio – gives a simple, even romantic impression, but its relevance and impact, like Steffi’s, are truly global. The first project that captures the spirit of Candy Mountain is her latest solo LP, The Red Hunter. With her new studio setup, she plunges even deeper into the details of sound processing, bringing complex, modulating grooves and textures into the foreground while intentionally preserving the song-like arrangements that have always made her work so relatable. For Steffi, the process itself is as rewarding, if not more so, than the final output, and she applies this same attitude to the careful planning and curation of her unique live performances. All of these new initiatives are the latest proof of the hard work, determination and total immersion in music that have led Steffi to where she is today, while also being the perfect indication of where she wants to go in the future.
