Shaped by his background as a nurse and recognized as an iconic "face" of the Fetish scene, he slowly built his unique journey over the years as a model & performer and is now focusing on his artistic evolution as a DJ. His relationship with music began the moment he embraced his true self and learned to celebrate what makes him different. Many hours on the dancefloor, surrounded by diverse communities, taught him not only about others but also about himself. Those experiences became the foundation of a sound that is deeply emotional, authentic, and clearly his own. To him, Techno has always been more than entertainement, it's a sanctuary for the misfits, the rebels, the outsiders, and that's why he wants to preserve that spirit and bring the culture back to its roots. Music is a way to spread important messages, fight hate and heal people. "Dr.Waumiau" is a DJ, photographer and author based in Berlin. His musical journey began long before his current sound, starting with self-released mashup projects and genre-blending DJ sets at a time when musical openness wasn’t a buzzword yet. After several years away from the DJ booth — spent working in photography, writing and editorial projects — he returned to the decks in 2025 by conscious choice. Not as a restart, but as a continuation with sharpened awareness for spaces, dynamics and what truly carries a crowd through the night. Musically, Dr.Waumiau moves between Trance, Hard Trance, Hard Groove and bouncy techno. His sets are energetic, melodic and playful, prioritizing flow over formulas and shared moments over self-promotion. Serious euphoria matters more to him than technical display. Sometimes, he also slows things down with tech house and more familiar groove-based sounds. As a former member of the Berlin-based collective Stromausfall, he was also involved in shaping community-driven events where safe space, awareness and joy on the dancefloor are foundational rather than optional. Since May 2026, he has been a resident DJ and proud member of NOXYS Berlin. Dr.Waumiau’s signature remains clear: driving, emotional and dancefloor-oriented — with a subtle wink and no fear of feeling too much. She plays live, never preparing her sets in advance. Spontaneity is at the core of her creative process, though it demands precision and technical mastery to fully trust the moment when she plays. Texture is her playground. She likes to respect each track she plays, letting it breathe as long as possible, weaving its elements into the larger journey she's building rather than rushing through it. For her, connection has to happen in the music first — between sounds, between frequencies — before it can happen between people. DJing, to her, is a form of collaboration: every artist poured their own intention into the tracks she plays, and honoring that is part of the work. This is why she believes ego has no place behind the decks — nothing truly belongs to the DJ. "We are simply channels, carrying a message through our own character and presence." Her sets search for a paradoxical atmosphere — dark, yet deeply connected — not only to make people dance, but to invite them to dare something within themselves.
