D’Monk (pronounced duh’munk) is an instrumentalist, producer and selector from London with heavy ties to Berlin. His music emanates the raw and the soulful — representing an eclectic collage of his influences — whether in the form of recorded songs, DJ sets or his body-stirring live performances. It’s an approach which has seen him gain support from a varied who’s who; from Brainfeeder’s Flying Lotus and Dorian Concept to DJ Spinna, Rush Hour and ADE 2024, where he is set to perform his trademark live set blend of analogue driven grooves and luscious, soulful soundscapes. In October 2024, he drops his debut EP ‘Shine’ via London’s well-respected Touching Bass. Across six tracks, D’Monk makes a strong claim for strongest introduction of the year, falling somewhere between warm-n-fuzzy electro, LDN broken beat, beatdown and the drunken, undefinable soul-dance of Detroit. With Ken Okuda, Orlando Rosé, Amirah Aziz and Annalisa La Mela, D’Monk runs the Berlin-based party and soon-to-be label, Shush. Alongside their community, the crew are developing an essential foothold within a brimming scene of Berlinites who favour groove over the robotic ‘oontz-oontz’ so traditionally linked with the German capital.Their RA profile lists Touching Bass.often with Orlando Rosé, Steven Julien, Lakuti, none of them here that night
“Errol is one of the UK's most compelling, contemporary musical voices: DJ, broadcaster, music curator and founder of Touching Bass.”

Errol is one of the UK's most compelling, contemporary musical voices: DJ, broadcaster, music curator and founder of Touching Bass. Underpinning it all is a passion for promoting the eclecticism of Black music as well as the culture and community behind it, with roots firmly anchored in his Caribbean heritage. His DJ sets are known for feeling beautifully loose, searching and soulful; unrestricted by genre and anchored by groove. Over the past few years, the London-born artist has taken this free-wheeling approach across the world - from gracing Berlin’s Panorama Bar, Glastonbury and Horst to multiple tours of Australia, Japan and New Zealand. Along the way, there have also been wheel-ups on King Jammy’s legendary dancehall soundsystem in Kingston, as well as warm-up slots for the likes of Erykah Badu, Tony Allen (RIP), Flying Lotus and Yussef Dayes. In 2022, Errol was included in The Face Magazine’s New Guard: a list of the UK’s 50 most influential individuals shaping the future of nightlife in the city. At the helm of Touching Bass, he has steadily established one of London’s most important musical incubators alongside his partner, Alex Rita. For the past seven years, it has quietly gained cult status for its intention, community spirit and musical eclecticism. More than a South London-based club night, NTS Radio staple, award-nominated record label, concert series at The Barbican and curatorial studio, Touching Bass has slow-cooked to become a meeting ground for music lovers and some of the most exciting contemporary and well-respected artists both in the capital and beyond. Errol considers himself a music curator at heart. As host and music programmer for Boiler Room, he played a pivotal role in bringing some of the world’s best live and DJ acts to the fore. From spearheading the UK jazz explosion in its early stages (Yussef Kamaal, Nubya Garcia, KOKOROKO) to collaborating with Saul Williams across London, New York and Miami (including an appearance from Yasiin Bey) and introducing the likes of Khruangbin, Anderson Paak, Mala, Nick Hakim and many more to millions online. His work has since expanded to film music supervision, including work with Ronan McKenzie and Joy Yamusangie for WATA (2020) and co-curating the soundtrack for Black To Techno (2019); the Gucci-supported, experimental documentary by multi-award winning director, Jenn Nkiru, which premiered at Frieze Los Angeles and was nominated for ‘Best Short’ at the IDA Awards. Through 2021-2023, that curation elevated and stretched further across music, fashion and art. As lead music curator and project manager at 180 Strand, he ushered in projects with visionaries including Gabriel Moses and Julianknxx. London’s White Cube have commissioned Errol and Touching Bass for Frieze London twice; developing immersive live experiences in response to Ibrahim Mahama’s 'Lazarus' and Julie Mehretu’s 'They departed for their own country another way (a 9x9x9 hauntology)' respectively. Most recently, audiophile legend Devon Ojas partnered with Touching Bass for his residency at Lisson Gallery, alongside a handpicked selection of legendary labels including Blue Note and Luaka Bop (David Byrne, Pharoah Sanders). In doing so, Errol and Touching Bass have been recognised by the likes of the Resident Advisor, i-D, Mixmag, CRACK, Another Magazine, Complex, BBC, Japan’s POPEYE, The Design Museum and THE FACE, who called him ‘a tastemaker for both the past, present and future of soulful and electronic music’.Their RA profile lists Touching Bass.often with Shy One, Donis, Alex Rita, none of them here that night
