Born in Tokyo in 1989, Junki Inoue is one of the youngest of the new crop of ‘digger’ DJs, who are gradually making their names through sharing their personal interpretations of the history of electronic dance music. A dedicated collector of vinyl for many years, Junki is comfortable playing sets at any time of the night and in any location: warm up, peak, closing, after-hours; warehouse or open air. Inoue’s sound stands out for its natural combination of Japanese and European traditions: precise, spare and elegant but warm and welcoming; deep and hypnotic for the mind, but always with energy and drive for the body. Inoue caught the music bug young and was a keen collector and DJ of various styles of rock as a teenager. However, his induction to underground electronic music came at scene-legends (and now Berlin ex-pats) Yuki Masda and Yone-Ko’s Cabaret nights at Unit, Tokyo. There he was introduced to some of the genuine masters of stylish, understated and elegant techno and house DJing: Fumiya Tanaka, Daniel Bell, Jan Krueger and Zip. All remain key influences to this day. Inspired by this approach, at the age of 20 Inoue established his own party, Heike at Tokyo clubbing institution Womb. A desire to fully experience different cultures brought Junki to London in 2012. There, Inoue met the Toi Toi Musik crew, with whom a mutual understanding and respect was rapidly developed. He has been resident DJ at the party for the past two years. London has proven itself to be Inoue's spiritual and cultural home, with the city providing more freedom to express himself as an individual than can easily be found at home in Japan. Rave came alive to Junki in London, where he witnessed a new wave of artists and DJing forming firsthand: DJs like Nicolas Lutz, Andrew James Gustav and Gwenan showed that the elegant grooves that had caught Inoue’s attention back in Tokyo could be created from a broader musical palette, with fewer formal rules. Junki is now well on his way to establishing his name alongside his inspirations, with regular gigs alongside these DJs. The past year has seen him play sets in major cities and at major clubs across the world: CONCRETE in Paris, Phonoteque in Montevideo (where he was selected to open the 2017 season), regular spots in Zurich, gigs throughout Italy (Milan, Venice, Rome). Much more is sure to lie ahead for this positive and unassuming talent.Their RA profile lists Cartulis Music.Recently at Hoppetosse, Atelier Rooftop, Club der Visionaere · often with Sammy Dee, Elli.on, oddist, none of them here that night

“Chile’s profound impact on electronic music is unquestionable.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Chile’s profound impact on electronic music is unquestionable. From Ricardo Villalobos to Luciano, the country has punched above its weight when it comes to discerning electronica. Another artist who firmly belongs among such esteemed company is Felipe Valenzuela. Now based in Berlin, Valenzuela is more than a DJ/producer - he’s a qualified sound engineer and a label owner of considerable repute. Prolific, technical and a performer boasting a magical and unique sound, Valenzuela’s musical nous and ability to read a crowd (bolstered by an impeccable collection of hard-to-spot records) has led him to some of the globe’s foremost nightspots. From Amnesia in Ibiza to Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson to Paris’ Concrete, he’s left his mark on some of the world’s most famous ‘floors. Throw in the fact that he’s also held residencies at Club der Visionaire and Hoppetosse in his adopted city of Berlin, and it’s clear that Valenzuela is a special type of DJ. From a label perspective, it’s Valenzuela’s relationship with Dani Casarano for which he is best known. In 2009, the pair launched Melisma (as well as its sister label, Melisma Limited), with both labels quickly earning lofty reputations amongst clued-in DJs and electronic music connoisseurs alike, a reputation that’s garnered label contributions from Ricardo Villalobos, as well as Thomas Melchior & Fumiya Tanaka under their much-respected Tofu Productions alias. Fast forward 8 years and Felipe and Dani, alongside close associate Momo Trosmann, are focusing their attention on a new label, Melcure. A hybrid combination of what makes Melisma - as well as Felipe & Trosmann’s Cure Music - so great. The label kicked off with Melcure000, a double A-sided affair, which featured stunning originals from both Felipe and Dani. The coming months look equally busy, with Felipe set to offer a string of releases under a range of different aliases. With appearances at Sonar as well as his aforementioned label endeavours already under his belt, it’s clear that 2018 is shaping up to be another momentous year for Felipe Valenzuela, the next chapter looks set to be every bit as exciting as what has come before.Their RA profile lists Cadenza Records, raum...musik, Metroline Limited, Fumakilla and 6 more.Recently at Hoppetosse, Club der Visionaere · often with Pau Pérez, Trixie (UK), Silverlining, none of them here that night

“Five things which, on their own, might not seem connected.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Five things which, on their own, might not seem connected. But join the dots and you’ll see that for Barcelona’s Baldo, each of these represent the many strings to his bow. As a producer, Baldo’s discography speaks for itself. Gerd Janson’s Running Back, Step Recordings and a soon-to-land EP on leftfield outfit E-Beamz showcase the breadth of his output. He’ll shortly be releasing on his own imprint Physical Education, and on Permanent Vacation too, joining the likes of Fort Romeau and Lauer. As a businessman, his Subwax Distribution company has become a global institution, distributing releases for a plethora of vinyl-only outfits. It’s now a go-to service for several of the scene’s leading imprints, including Limousine Dream, Butter Side Up, Haŵs Music, Mindhelmet and Slapfunk to name a few. As a multiple label-owner, his Physical Education, Curated By Time and BLD Tape Recordings imprints represent the styles that make him tick. A ‘90s re-release of Affie Yusuf here, a hard-edged acid offering under his BLD alias there… the productions span across the board, embodying his musical tastes through-and-through. Add to that his former residency at seminal Barcelona nightspot Razzmatazz, one that he’s held down for nearly a decade, and you’ll quickly learn that Baldo’s involvement in dance music runs deep. And at the core of it? His love for music. Now that’s something we can all salute.Their RA profile lists Permanent Vacation, Running Back, Physical Education and Club Mix.Recently at Club der Visionaere · often with Trixie (UK), Raf & Rod, Silverlining, none of them here that night
