Lovie's musical discovery began in the digital music age: a young lover of local radio and after-school MTV marathons, her early mixes took shape in the form of burned CDs she made for her friends. After relocating from her hometown of Washington, D.C. to New York in 2020, Lovie's unique selection of soulful, spiritual music swiftly ushered her into New York's local music scene. At the taste-making Brooklyn radio station, Lot Radio, she gave birth to her homey platform, summer school radio. For five years Lovie's radio mixes—now being offered as one of the station's few weekly residencies—have thumbed through the intimate corners of her music collection. She saunters through slow-groove disco, dusty '70s funk and groovy '80s jazz at a studied pace that makes it easy to marvel at every timeless chime, trill, and drum beat. She's as tempted by the bedroom pop of Clairo as much as the cosmic funk of Lonnie Liston Smith. Outside the Lot, Lovie presents summer school radio as soothing listening sessions around Brooklyn, providing warm balms for city fatigue with artists like alt-jazz harpist muva of Earth and New Age legend Laraaji. As co-founder of Soul Connection with long-time friend and collaborator, Honey Bun, she imbues the power of friendship and Black femme empowerment into sumptuous house music and '90s R&B spun with the patience and musicality associated with the East Coast house tradition. Connecting the mind, to the body, to the soul, her club sets inspire the warmest, most community-minded dance floors you'll find in the city. Her diligence to the craft, musical curiosity, and deep focus on the listening experience earned her a spot on Mixmag's Top 25 Breakthrough DJs of 2024. She now holds a coveted residency at Brooklyn club public records, and has played at art centers like MoMA, Brooklyn Academy of Music and The Beacon Theater, where she opened for Kamasi Washington. Her work has also brought her to international gigs at Paris's Djoon, London's Spiritland, and more. Whether playing on her stomping grounds or rocking dance floors overseas, Lovie creates honey-sweet dance floor memories you'll want to replay again and again.often with Honey Bun, JADALAREIGN, Jenifa Mayanja, none of them here that night

Early Days: From an early age, Amir’s ears were filled with the warm and colorful sounds of jazz, gospel, soul, and disco coming from his parents’ stereo. As a young man, he made the leap from this soulful home and dove head-first into the world of hip-hop the first chance he got. But instead of the clean break he had anticipated, he discovered so much of his parents’ classics sampled in the music of his peers. Intrigued, Amir found himself tracing ties through the music — first with light curiosity, soon, tirelessly. This came to be his passion: to map the sonic lineage of hip-hop. Kon & Amir: Amir has been a man on a mission ever since. He has braved strange and dangerous locations in pursuit of the rarest wax; dealt with the shadiest characters and collectors in over 100 cities across the globe; and has had his knowledge called upon by some of the biggest names in hip-hop. It was kismet that Amir would meet fellow crate digger and kindred spirit Kon in 1996; instantaneously becoming fast friends and collaborators. Beginning with the esteemed underground On Track mixtape series, Kon & Amir have since released twelve compilations, including three volumes of Off Track, the follow-up to the On Track series. Kon & Amir’s expertise have been sought by Shady Records, Pete Rock, Diamond D, and Capitol Records, to name but a few. Aside from his work in this partnership, Amir’s own client list has included the likes of Dilla, Madlib, Common, Mandrill, The Mizell Brothers, Duke Jones, Lyman Woodard, and Dennis Coffey. Label Maker: It was also during the 90s that Amir began working at record labels. Starting out in an entry-level position at Fat Beats, Amir quickly rose through the ranks to become VP of Sales. Since then, Amir has worked as an A&R for Rapster/!K7 Records; Sales Manager for ABB Records, and Label Manager of Wax Poetics Records. Having amassed a great wealth of experience and know-how over the years, Amir founded 180 Proof Records in 2010, and has released four albums on the self-made label to date. No Days Off: Today, Amir continues to work and create, not only as a label owner and manager, but also as a prominent tastemaker and curator. Recent projects include the curation and production of the Strata Records exhibit for the Scion IQ Museum and the reissue of the two ultra-rare Newban albums on BBE (Barely Breaking Even) — a project Amir brought to the label back in 2012. And, of course, djing continues to be an intrinsic part of his repertoire. As half of Kon & Amir and on his own, Amir tours the world playing out to a global network of the most fanatical of fans and provides them with deep, rich, alternative sonic experiences.Their RA profile lists BBE.Recently at Tausend, Pastiche · often with Kelvin Sholar – Piano, moe., sounds, none of them here that night

Jaxx TMS moves through music with a deep-rooted understanding of rhythm, history and emotion. A Berlin-based DJ, broadcaster and curator, she exists at the intersection of dancefloor energy and sonic storytelling. In the club, Jaxx is drawn to the raw essence of House, Acid, and Deep House – blending deep grooves, rolling basslines and crisp percussions with the soulful energy of the 90s and the forward-thinking textures of today. Her sets carry the grit and euphoria of underground dance music, blending uplifting frequencies with influences from UK and US club culture. Each set is a carefully sculpted journey – designed for movement, release, and connection. Beyond the club, Jaxx’s musical spirit takes on a different form. As the founder of Inner City Expressions a project that seamlessly bridges music, culture and art and host of Expressions on Refuge Worldwide, she creates spaces dedicated to deep, intentional listening. Her selections flow through warm Jazz harmonies, weighty Dub basslines, ethereal Ambient textures and the rich storytelling of Soul and Breakbeat. Guided by her Caribbean, British and Spanish heritage, she designs experiences that are both intimate and transportive, where listeners are invited to sink into the layers of sound. Whether behind the booth or shaping immersive listening explorations, Jaxx TMS moves fluidly between worlds – honoring both the pulse of the club and the introspection of deep listening, always with an ear for the unexpected. Jaxx musical range allowed her to play at iconic venues such as The Jazz Cafe, Jumbi, Berghain,Tresor, OHM, Sacre and more.Recently at Zalando Experience Hub, Berghain, migas, a listening bar · often with TRESOR, GLOBUS, Nat Wendell, none of them here that night
