“Miia Magia’s past two decades of exploring the dancefloor with her groovy and hypnotic sets has been a labour of love.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Miia Magia’s past two decades of exploring the dancefloor with her groovy and hypnotic sets has been a labour of love. The once passionate clubber, record collector and lover of the UK alternative rock sound today lights up her sets with raw techno. Hailing from the LGBTQ+ scene where she is a staple figure and organising various club concepts in Helsinki paved her way into entering the high school of techno in Stockholm. A beautiful journey through festival stages, warehouse raves and club nights in Europe, from Iceland to Germany together with HE.SHE.THEY. (resident), Berghain, RSO, Culture Box, HALL and Department. Miia is the owner of Motto Sono Records, actively running the label since 2020 with releases mainly focusing on Scandinavian deep techno. A rare gem of a label, keeping the underground culture alive and providing possibilities for artists to release uncompromised music for the demanding audience as well as DJs from up and coming producers to heavyweight pioneers. Miia started out by playing at various Helsinki clubs and parties, which naturally led her to set up her own regular club night in Semifinal, a legendary local underground venue. “Club FF” became in 2004 the first club night in Semifinal's history run solely by female DJs, making Miia the pioneer that she is to this day. Miia continued trailblazing by gaining a residency in club DTM, the undisputed cornerstone or in their own words "institution of all things queer in the Helsinki nighttime", and eventually leading the massive Helsinki Pride parade for several years. At mbar, one of Helsinki’s most beloved cultural hangouts, Miia’s “Sound of Magic” concept became an instant classic. While DJing in the Finnish capital she has shared the stage with her local heroes Roberto Rodriguez and Orion to name but a few. Currently Miia is a resident DJ for HE.SHE.THEY., the London based, high profile club concept, taking her to Copenhagen, Riga and Reykjavik to play alongside Biggi Veira (Gus Gus), Exos and Kristin Velvet. From 2015 to 2019 Miia was based in Sweden, making her way through the highly prestigious Stockholm underground techno scene. There Miia’s work was recognized with invitations coming in to warm up legends like Axel Boman, Cari Lekebusch and Dj Hell. Since 2022 Miia has been signed to Stockholm based booking agency Parabel. After returning to Helsinki in 2020 Miia created the independent label Motto Sono Records together with Cari Lekebusch, following the principle of releasing distinctive and unique electronic music with the definition; deep, but driving. Releases by the likes of Alexi Delano, Joel Mull, Tm Shuffle and Tapani Rinne and collaborations with Scandinavian visual artists for the label’s cover art have made scrolling through Motto Sono’s catalogue feel like visiting an art gallery. In addition to her main focus as a dj and label owner, during the past decade Miia has also been able to channel her creative talent and pursuit of beauty into make-up artistry and jewellery design. Often collaborating with performing artists, she has created looks for musicians like Jori Hulkkonen for his music video and the late great Prince's band members Cassandra O'Neil and John Blackwell prior to their concert in Helsinki. Miia Magia Design jewellery collaborations include several Finnish museums, Swedish record labels Drumcode and H-Productions and Helsinki Pride. Her jewellery has also made appearances on various red carpet events, out of which adorning Aki Kaurismäki's "Fallen Leaves" film crew members at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023 is one of Miia’s personal highlights.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Olivia is a record proxenete, dealing grooves across territories her unique sound can reach. Strongly influenced by the sounds of Senegalese drums as a child, both as a percussionist and dancer, she eventually fell in love with the post modern aesthetics embedded in Detroit’s industrial landscapes. From Brooklyn to Kiev, she has been queering consciousness through her roaring, pulsing, sonorous soundscapes. Entangled in the UK underground for 5 mad years, Breakbeat, IDM, Experimental, DnB, Dub and Techno were some of the defining genres she explored as an artist. As a passionate vinyl archaeologist she keeps roaming record shops to excavate forgotten pieces that she cross-pollinates with the avant-garde, aiming to keep the magic, encoded in music, alive. Her background as a France and UK based music journalist, artist and event promoter imbues her DJ sets with an eclectic range, playfully leading us through deep, steady minimalistic journeys. She is also the founder of the FLINTA collective KONVENT, intending to create positive spaces to reinvestigate and elevate the discourse on contemporary feminism, through site-specific music and art interventions, where she smashes the patriarchy one beat at the time.

Verraco is also one of the heads behind the groundbreaking TraTraTrax, label that has become a key platform for Latinx sound explorers in recent years. With the future classic Escándaloo EP on VOAM out in Summer 2023, RA and Crack Magazine lauded the record as one of the best of the year. In 2024, the Colombian artist's debut on Bristol's stalwart Timedance with 'Breathe... Godspeed' was unanimously acclaimed by the press, with the EP being awarded Pitchfork Best New Music, described by renowned journalist Philip Sherburne as "an essential record for the vanguard of dance music". In 2025, he signed with the legendary UK label XL Recordings for a three-tracker EP. In addition to having important recurring appearances at clubs and festivals such as Dekmantel, Berghain or Berlin Atonal, Verraco also launched his own party in Bogotá also called Escándaloo, which has been sold out on all occasions and has brought to his country for the first time the likes of Skee Mask, Batu, Pariah, Livwutang among others." ~ Outer Agency.

As one of the residents of Leipzig’s Distillery since 2012, he happily gets to share his passion for dance music regularly. Next to this he also runs the Leipzig based label Unitas Multiplex. • Alinka

Kyiv, Ukraine · 11 bookings since Aug 2025

“Alinka is the kind of DJ other DJ’s will tell you about.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Alinka is the kind of DJ other DJ’s will tell you about. She has a unique power on the decks that comes from lifelong passion and time served, with a focused devotion to her first love – house music. Raised on Chicago’s vibrant house sound with toes dipped into Detroit techno, Europe’s more robust approaches to bass music and the myriad of genre’s coming from cities like Berlin, London and Paris. Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, her early childhood included reluctantly learning the piano, her mother is a pianist, while trying to convince her parents to let her play guitar. Her exposure to Western music was limited, living in a communist country where censorship was common practice. Her family eventually immigrated to Chicago as Jewish refugees in the late ‘80s as the USSR crumbled. This was her first experience of pop music and she fell head over heels for the chart sounds of Madonna and Janet Jackson. Then came house music from local radio shows where you could frequently hear tracks by Chicago legends like Cajmere and DJ Funk, and shows like Sonic Boom helped expose underground music to the masses. By the late ‘90s, music had taken over her life. Teenage Alinka immersed herself in the dance music scene spending her summer pulling double shifts at a local pool and moonlighting for rave promoters to build up enough cash to buy decks. After a year of skipping class to relentlessly practice her mixing skills, she began her full-time musical pursuit. Working for various club promoters, doing odd jobs passing out flyers and helping with party logistics - anything just to get into clubs underage to see her favourite DJs - all while spending hours digging for tracks at Chicago’s legendary record shop Gramaphone. In 2001 Justin Long recruited her to be the opening resident for his .Dotbleep party at Smartbar where she honed her skills for the best part of a decade. In 2012, an impromptu meeting with former Hercules and Love Affair vocalist, Shaun J. Wright, changed her life forever. Their evolving friendship resulted in what would be the first of many musical collaborations. The pair launched their Twirl parties and label, continually strived to inspire each other both musically and spiritually, the result has been an impressive catalogue of material for both of them collaboratively and individually on the likes of The Classic Music Company, Jackathon Jams, Crosstown Rebels, Leftroom, and of course Twirl, where as well as their own material the duo have welcomed renowned artists like Spencer Parker, Virginia, LA-4A, Kim Ann Foxman, and Jason Kendig onto the label. Recent years have seen Alinka really hit her stride as a producer with successful releases on world renown labels like !K7, Rekids, Correspondant, DGTL Records, Permanent Vacation, and Peggy Gou’s Gudu Records. She also turned out a standout collection of remixes for labels Me Me Me, Live At Robert Johnson, Get Physical, and Massimiliano Pagliara’s Funnuvojere Records. Now living in Berlin, Alinka has well and truly found her feet and inspiration. Alinka has used this base to throw down at parties across Europe from Berghain/Panorama Bar to Robert Johnson, with regular visits back to the US to play standout clubs like Smart Bar and Basement, and Ukraine's famous ∄ club in Kyiv, where she stands as club’s first international resident. Her evolution continues with the recent re-launch of her Twirl imprint, highlighted by the ‘Day Dreamer’, ‘Sorry For Not Trending’ and ‘Edgewater’ EP’s, and her latest single ‘Touch The Flame’ that finely balance Alinka’s future-focused ethos, with a unmistakable, proud passion for her Chicago heritage.

“A native of Brooklyn and current resident of Queens (New York), Jovonn has been active in the music scene since the age of 10.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
A native of Brooklyn and current resident of Queens (New York), Jovonn has been active in the music scene since the age of 10. Supported by his mother, a keyboard player; and father, a guitar/bass player, who were aspiring R&B singers; he was nurtured with a solid musical foundation. Jovonn began his career as a Hip-Hop DJ at the age of 14 and started spinning records at those infamous New York block parties of the 80s where he was introduced to the growing New York House music scene, hanging out in seminal Brooklyn clubs such as Sapphires, Club Saturn and Club Serene. Years later clubs such as The Loft, The Choice, Snobbusters and Zanzibar, solidified his full commitment to House music. Exploding onto the house scene in 1991 with his second release, “Turn and Runaway” on Warner Bros. Records, (which reached number 10 on the Billboard chart and catapulted Jovonn on to the global scene) He then went on to set up his first record label, Goldtone Records, in the early 1990’s via Emotive Records (label compilation dropped on clone last year) and since then has produced more than 500 records in the House, R&B, Hip-Hop and Neo Soul genres, not to mention film scores and soundtracks although his true love has always been House music. A pioneer of the NYC, New Jersey, 90’s house sound, he’s produced many classics with releases such as as “Back In the Dark”, “Garage Shelter”, “I Can’t Make Up My Mind”, “I Wanna Go To A Club” that all contain Jovonn’s distinctive vocal delivery and trade mark production, as the man says himself ‘gritty sounds, hard kicks, jazzy chords and a phat bassline’. Other releases in Jovonn’s impressive discography include ‘Something About this Love’ (on WestEnd Records), “The Spirit” album (on Track Mode), and the “Blaque House” album on Code Red not to mention releases on labels such as Dogmatik, Objektivity, Deeply Rooted House and Apollonia showcasing his talents to a new audience of house music lovers. Jovonn launched his new label venture Body N’Deep in 2017 via clone distribution, dedicated to releasing the hottest deep and raw underground house tracks from Jovonn and his crew of producers and vocalists including tracks from legendary artists such as Karizma, Delano Smith and Louie Vega. His album ‘Timeless’ was released on the label receiving great reviews from DJ’s and Press, showcasing Jovonn’s trademark new jersey sound. In-between running the label and DJing worldwide Jovonn has still found time to release on prestigious labels such as Nu Groove/Defected with ‘Random/Get Over It’, ‘The Blaque Katt EP’ and more recent ‘The Fun Houze EP’. All welcomed by a new generation of DJs and producers, demonstrating Jovonn’s ability to keep relevant with his classic NYC house sound and just updating it a little for today. The Body N’Deep label goes from strength to strength releasing productions from established artists and rising talents, with releases and A&R from the man himself, ensuring everything has that timeless Body N’Deep sound. Look out for a new Jovonn album in 2025 as well as further releases on the label..

“Ryan Elliott has spent the past two decades of his esteemed career effortlessly bridging the gap between different artistic expectations.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Ryan Elliott has spent the past two decades of his esteemed career effortlessly bridging the gap between different artistic expectations. Growing up as a DJ in Detroit, but coming into his own in Berlin, his sets expand on each city’s styles. A resident at Berghain and Panorama Bar, he refuses to be aligned with just techno or house, instead highlighting their optimal overlaps. And as a producer, remixer, and founder of his own label, Faith Beat, Elliott releases music that is playable but unpredictable, perfectly calibrated for dancefloor impact and enduring enjoyment. No matter what form his musical expression takes, with Elliott listeners always seem to get the best of both worlds. Launched in 2019, Faith Beat is an organic extension of Elliott’s passions as a DJ, producer and voracious record collector. A home for music that is thoughtful and loose, precise yet approachable, Faith Beat is not a one-way street, but an ongoing conversation between Elliott and the crowds he plays for, the producers he loves and the records he buys. As a DJ, Elliott delivers sets that slice energetically across the house and techno divide, a revelatory approach that's infused with a deep respect for his selections. This ethos also manifests in the monthly charts Elliott has published since 2003, insisting on giving a proper platform to whatever he plays. As with all of his efforts, Elliott doesn’t pit one place or style against each other, continuing to pursue a sleek and transportive fusion.

“Sara Miller is an Irish-born, Berlin-based DJ, producer and sound engineer.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Sara Miller is an Irish-born, Berlin-based DJ, producer and sound engineer. Drawing from the timeless pulse of 90s progressive and deep house, alongside the Balearic, Italo and acid sounds that helped shape it, her sets are high energy, groove-driven and euphoric. Astral melodies, rubbery basslines and soaring breaks form her palette, shaping fluid journeys that blur the line between reflection and abandon. Over more than a decade, she has become a trusted presence on Europe's most respected dance floors, from Panorama Bar, Robert Johnson and Tresor to Phonox, Badaboum, Macadam and Nitsa. Her natural ease behind the decks mirrors her skill in the studio, where she translates club energy into finely detailed, melodic productions. Her relationship with Munich label Permanent Vacation began with Orange Sea (2021) and has grown through her acclaimed Lunar Theory EP (2023), vinyl debut Cervo on Cracki Records (2024), and remixes for Permanent Vacation and Live at Robert Johnson. Oceanic Dream (2025), her second EP for Permanent Vacation, moves between dreamlike introspection and open-hearted euphoria. DJ Mag described her as "one of the rare alchemists who can push a tune to its emotional breaking point while also keeping it on the right side of cheesy." Resident Advisor called Lunar Theory "filled with melodies as complex as honeycomb" noting its low-end heft and idiosyncratic touch and "a reminder that just because you're going big doesn't mean you can't stay weird." In 2024, she was selected for the Detroit-Berlin Residency, spending two months at Submerge, headquarters of Underground Resistance. Collaborating with Detroit artist Shawescape Renegade on a hardware live show, she was immersed in a city built on resilience, innovation, and community, an experience that continues to shape how she thinks about music as a shared, sustaining force.
