the whole biography
Arthur Robert, born and raised in Vienna, Austria, and of Romanian heritage - an intricate blend that will later inspire and influence his musical aspirations. A tender memory from his formative years is rooted in embracing a colossal speaker, absorbing the vibrations of bass that would shape his affinity for sound. At a youthful sixteen, Arthur embarked on an autonomous journey, teaching himself the craft of DJing drum and bass music with the analogue allure of vinyl records, marking the inception of his electronic music odyssey. Arthur's trajectory led him to Amsterdam in his early twenties, a city that beckoned him with the allure of techno music. An encounter with Berlin's Berghain venue would be a defining moment, solidifying his dedication to the sonic landscapes he would continue to shape. Within the confines of his studio, Arthur diligently refines his craft, continuously fine-tuning his live sets and presenting his published tracks in their purest form—a singular, unedited take capturing the essence of his vision. A mélange of evocative descriptors encapsulates Arthur's auditory signature: live electronics, a puristic approach, groove-driven foundations inspired by Detroit's legacy, and subtle traces of jungle and breaks influences. This amalgamation results in a sonic tapestry uniquely his own, marked by an ongoing artistic evolution. Arthur's ventures extend beyond the realm of techno, occasionally venturing into crafting soundtracks that resonate harmoniously with cinematic narratives. An eagerly awaited film score, slated for release in late 2019 or early 2020, marks the culmination of this diversification. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Arthur shares his insight through teaching sound design and music production, viewing the role of educator as paramount in his perpetual pursuit of excellence. As a seasoned electronic musician, Arthur Robert commands stages globally, his live performances crafted through a symphony of synthesizers and samplers. His music transcends boundaries, engaging audiences with a testament to the timeless potency of creativity.Their RA profile lists Token, Figure, Illegal Alien Records, NEWRHYTHMIC and 6 more.Recently at Berghain, Giri · often with Decoder, Inox Traxx, IGLO, none of them here that night

Denise Rabe´s experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she's developed as a producer. Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she's done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally. This has allowed her to recruit the artist who´s work resonates with her sensibility and can be heard in the remixes Rrose, Shxcxchcxsh, Headless Horseman, among others, have done for her releases on her and other labels. Imprints such as Mutewax, who released her first 12" in 2015, ARTS where she quickly became one of the label´s staples and Stroboscopic Artifacts where she published "Manifesto" in 2019, are clear reference points that describe her career and its development. Rabe’s particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.Their RA profile lists Soma Records, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Illegal Alien Records, Diffuse Reality and 6 more.Recently at Tresor / Globus, OXI, Berghain · often with GLOBUS, TRESOR, Ignez, none of them here that night

Montréal duo Jump Source–comprised of Patrick Holland and Francis Latreille–announce their first full length Album, Fold, due April 23rd on NAFF Recordings. Over the past decade, the pair have carved out a distinct lane with idiosyncratic club music, lacing undeniable dancefloor anthems with jagged left turns that never miss. With their shared studio as the creative hub, Patrick and Francis have also become one of the most reliable production teams in electronic music; writing, producing, and mixing for artists like James K., Car Culture, Maara, Tiga, among many others. Fold is Jump Source’s most ambitious project yet. Echoing the electronic LP boom of the early 2000s, it’s as much an ode to the dancefloor as it is the articulation of a distinct, everything-goes pop ethos. With an eclectic cast of collaborators including POiSON GiRLFRiEND, billy woods, Helena Deland, CFCF, Loukeman and more, this album leaves no corner of music untouched. Peak hour club hits with candy-glossed choruses meld with folktronic balladry and a curveball rap cut. Turbulence is a persistent theme on the record: the highs and lows of life in music, connections gained and lost on the road, mundane exchanges made uncanny by shifting time zones. The city is the lingering backdrop here, etched out in full relief to reveal every grain.House on 9, Techno on 7, Tech House on 5 and Electro on 3. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Jump Source (1) and Turbo (1); their RA profile also lists NAFF. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileoften with Jennifer Loveless, Mariposa, Kangding Ray, none of them here that night

“Ed Davenport is a British DJ, producer and label operator based in Berlin.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Ed Davenport is a British DJ, producer and label operator based in Berlin. Ed also records as Inland. Known for his wide-reaching, euphoric and prog-influenced releases and DJ sets, Ed's unique grasp of left-field sound-design within a dancefloor setting continues to fascinate house and techno heads around the world. Earning his reputation as a versatile DJ on the London Minimal scene during the early 00s, Davenport's first wave of 12"s surfaced in 2006. A mutant strain of deep-house set the tone for his first EPs on German labels Gumption and Liebe*Detail, ('Diminuendo' and 'Eyespeak') becoming underground classics. After his move to Berlin in 2008 and a mixtape (delivered by early supporter Nick Höppner) landed him his first slot at Panorama Bar, a moodier, 'techy' hybrid sound began to emerge, peaking with key releases such as the bass-bin rattling 'More Red Lights' on UK label NRK in 2011 and the widescreen 'Counterchange' LP the following year. His hypnotic, groove-focused releases on Mosaic, Falkplatz and Figure SPC saw Davenport's sound continue to explore all corners of the house and (deep)techno landscape, while a minimal-music indebted EP on the Maeve label ('Silver Walks', 2015) highlighted his unique skill for storytelling. A follow-up double-12" for Siamese (Festnetz, 2017) boldly stated his love for analog synth textures and post-acid trippery. With his celebrated 'Inland' alias, Ed indulges his passions in darker and faster strains of techno, while also exploring experimental music, sound design and film scoring. Simultaneously, Davenport's Counterchange label has notched up over 40 releases - the 'Solstice' EP (2013, COUNTER001) a blueprint for the label's diverse sound. Primarily a home for Inland material, the label released music from genre-bending contemporaries like Efdemin, Cassegrain & Tin Man, Perm and P. Lopez / Ariel Me Llamo. In 2023 a new wave of electrifying house music began in earnest with Davenport's 'Place of Connect' EP on Blitz club affiliated label Childhood. Lead cut 'Suntazia' boldly reawakened the British raver within with its breakbeats and wiggling acid undertow, while 'Electricity' set a new benchmark for Ed's brand of extended, tripping, headsy bass-bombs. The sea-change also welcomed a return to the hallowed closing slot at Panorama Bar, a setting Ed feels very comfortable in, and continues to inspire and nurture his unabridged, eclectic DJ style packed with secret edits and vinyl records old and new. In 2024 Davenport looks forward to a new chapter with the launch of Globuli, a label-collective built around the core principles of this new house-techno-acid era. Playfulness, positivity, collaboration and connection are key. The quest continues for stand-out club tracks that gyrate dancefloors and evoke an emotional response.Their RA profile lists NRK Music, Liebe*Detail, Vidab Records, Polytone and 6 more.often with EXTRA by WILDERNESS, ACID BOGEN, BUSSI, none of them here that night

Based in Berlin for over a decade, dynamic Austrian duo Foehn & Jerome have drawn influence from their surroundings, holding down a residency at Club der Visionaere with their Perfumed Freedom events, cementing themselves in the thick of the melting pot scene of the city. In the next period of their career they will explore new territory, extending the Perfumed Freedom umbrella to a record label, releasing music from themselves and other artists they admire, and a fresh label alongside Alexander Skancke and Henriku, titled “TBH”. After becoming flatmates in Berlin 2011 they began their joint quest holding down a residency at Vienna hotspot Grelle Forelle for the “Cafe Sturz” events, during this time they hosted the likes of Zip, Sammy Dee, Vera and many more. They then moved their attention to Berlin and ever since have been residents at Club der Visionaere, with some early events under various names before starting their anticipated Perfumed Freedom parties in 2018, allowing them to grow an extensive community through the years, and still going strong to this day inviting artists such as Daniel Bell, Thomas Melchior, Mathew Jonson, Eli Verveine, Losoul, Rhadoo, Vale Colvin, Felix Hk, Idit Frenkel amongst many other fantastic names. Their intricately arranged productions have led to Foehn & Jerome landing music on integral labels throughout the years, all of which have inspired their journey. You can discover their music on Zip’s Perlon, Sammy Dee’s Ultrastretch, Barbara Preisinger’s Slices Of Life in collaboration with Alexander Skancke on “Public Trouble”. Other bodies of work have been released on Quirk, Gabu, with their earliest work on their co-founded label “Untitled 100” with Argenis Brito and Thomas Grün. Essentially the lifelong works of the pair will now all be directed under the Perfumed Freedom brand, growing a platform to express themselves, gathering ideas, innovative music and their creative vision under one roof, allowing it all to come into fruition.Their RA profile lists Perlon, Ultrastretch, Untitled 100, Quirk and 3 more.Recently at Sonnenraum, MaHalla, Kater · often with Sammy Dee, Thomas Melchior, Zip, none of them here that night

“The South East London-based artist has paved the way in the scene for herself and her sound.”
their own biography
the whole biography
The South East London-based artist has paved the way in the scene for herself and her sound. NIKS has displayed a truly natural and organic growth to her journey, refusing to be genre pigeon-holed and flexing musical knowledge and skill across the board. NIKS has a background in contemporary dance, having danced from the age of four and going on to train professionally for 14 years, but music has always remained front and centre. Having originally found inspiration through a musical stewardship of her guitarist father, as well as in the sounds of electronic music pioneers such as Trevor Rockcliffe, Mr. G, Kerri Chandler and a growing record collection, NIKS looked towards DJing as a natural step in artistic direction. Her heavy pool of vast influences has resulted in a forward-thinking sound that is an amalgamation of UK percussive elements, and the influential 90s/00s groovy, rhythmic sounds that influence her extended journey sets today. Her production prowess steadily cements this, with her first EP ‘Milieu’ inviting listeners to enter the vast sonic world of NIKS. She’s been able to consistently flex and flit between bouncy, bass-heavy production and a distinctive downtempo flair. 2025 promises more releases and a remarkable bound forward in production finesse from NIKS, starting with her self-released standalone charity track ‘Amble Minds’. The single raised funds for Focus Congo, with the dubby roller being reviewed by Resident Advisor as a ‘wonky, disorientating club weapon’. As she’s honed in on her craft, NIKS has played across globally esteemed festivals and venues such as Glastonbury, Panorama Bar, Basement, Blitz, Club RAUM, FOLD, Horst and more. Performances, as well as curations, at De School, Love International, UNFOLD - leading to rubbing shoulders with the likes of Josey Rebelle, Amaliah, Shanti Celeste, Call Super, Tasha, Josh Caffé, rRoxymore and many others - amongst her busiest touring yet. Alongside a thriving and full career and self-taught journey, in 2020, NIKS co-founded the integral collective Black Artist Database. Originally coined as Black Bandcamp, the organisation was created in direct response to a lack of representation in the dance music space. Since its inception, NIKS has been part of a team behind mobilising for inclusion and equality in the scene, co-curating multiple workshops, as well as club and festival takeovers, talks, and masterclasses. The artist also has a regular Rinse FM show, taking listeners on a monthly deep dive through underground house and techno, as well as displaying her wide spectrum of sound through one-off shows such as her downtempo special, a dubby b2b journey with livwutang, and a techno masterclass for Tasha’s Neighbourhood. She also regularly appears on long-time friend Moxie’s NTS show, and has also held down a BBC R1 residency, delving into her music journey so far and the influences behind each stage, with episodes on ‘The Genesis’, Black Artist Database and on forthcoming/new music. Alongside her seminal RA Podcast, she has curated mixes for the likes of Origins, The Ransom Note, Daisychain, CRACK, as well as recently releasing a Dekmantel Podcast - delivering a ‘warm, supple soundscape’ ahead of her debut performance at the renowned festival this year. NIKS has remained truly devoted to the underground scene across her career, showcasing a steady and admirable rise within the space, carving out room for a sound and presence that has become synonymous with futuristic dance music.Their RA profile lists Neighbourhood, Céad, Borne Fruits, Obligated Records and 1 more.Recently at Berghain, Studio1111, SAGE · often with Amaliah, Grace Dahl, Josey Rebelle, none of them here that night
