London born, Berlin based fka.m4a (Jay Jackson) has built a solid reputation in the underground scene with a distinctive blend of euphoric and sensual House music. The London born and Berlin-based DJ has made an impact worldwide with filmed sets amassing over half a million streams online and has played at venues and festivals like Timewarp, Lost Village, Sonar and Panorama Bar, features in Mixmag and Electronic Beats, plus Peggy Gou in his corner as a mentor, his stock is firmly on the rise. Born in London, music was always front and centre in his family home, his mother playing music to him through headphones while he was still in the womb. Citing acts whose USP was female empowerment as the first music he found for himself, the likes of Spice Girls and Lil Kim were early musical influences, eventually leading him to start DJing on the queer scene in London. “I was working on the Soho & East London circuit” he says. “I was mainly doing guestlist and hosting but eventually they asked me to DJ and I spent a few years cutting my teeth on that scene.” Learning how to work a crowd as a pop DJ, seeing Honey Dijon DJ on his first trip to Berlin in 2016 led him down the rabbit hole of electronic music and led to a shift in his focus. “I completely fell in love with the storytelling element of her set,” he says. “I spent the next year immersed in dance music culture and started playing the electronic room at queer events.” Moving to Berlin in 2019, the pandemic quickly put a stop to his burgeoning DJ career before a switch to recording streams from his apartment during covid saw his profile blow up, leading to signing with an agency and bagging his first Panorama Bar set when lockdown lifted. In just a few short years, franck has gone from underground favourite to one of techno's fastest-rising global names. With sold-out headline shows, appearances at the world's leading festivals and a string of scene-defining releases, the Scottish artist has established himself as a driving force in the new generation of techno. Since launching his techno-focused project in 2021, franck quickly established himself as one of the most exciting names in techno. Early releases showcased his bouncy style of techno and his unmistakable sound, but it was his 2022 single Get Down that marked a major breakthrough, going on to accumulate millions of streams and introducing his music to a rapidly growing global audience. Later that same year, franck released what would become the defining record of his career to date: Hear The Sound. Released via Germany's R-Label Group, the track exploded across the international techno scene, earning support from leading artists including Charlotte de Witte, Kobosil, KI/KI, VTSS and Cera Khin. Every track from the EP landed in Beatport's Hard Techno Top 20, with Hear The Sound reaching the coveted #1 position and the release amassing hundreds of thousands of streams within its first week. Olympe4000 leads a new rave generation for whom the dancefloor is above all an open space where identities and music mix.It's always tempting to define a DJ by the tracks played. With Olympe4000, however, this approach seems limited, given her commitment to break down barriers between styles. In her sets, furious rhythms, unstoppable bass and techno breakbeats intersect. Behind her turntables, musical genres mingle. This eclecticism can be explained by the diversity of the venues where she usually plays, from raves to cult clubs, from France to the rest of the world. At the same time, Olympe4000 produces powerful electronic tracks that she likes to put into perspective with the issues shaking our contemporary societies. In June 2024, she released the split EP Hack Me I'm Famous, in collaboration with DJ Physical. On the 5 tracks that make it up, the two artists make us question our relationship with technology and our fundamental desire to exist in an ever-changing world. And because she likes to do things her own way, the producer releases these projects on her own record label, a laboratory created for the occasion, Adrenaline Quality, which sums up as much her militant state of mind as her desire to explore the rave spectrum.With its focus on unbridled, hybrid music, this structure is far from limited to Olympe4000’s music. On the contrary, its purpose is to amplify the projects of emerging artists, but also to offer music to “people who work and commute every day while scrolling through their phone, who just need to have sound in their ears and to party intensely on weekends to forget themselves”. Thought of as a complete creative platform, the label has already released EPs by Rehcorb or Lüma-G & piaconcept, as well as a various with Beats by girlz, which encourages women, non-binary and trans people to get involved in music production by organizing CAM training workshops.
