Who they are
“Blu Aloé is a Berlin-based artist working with voice, processed through granular modular synthesis - moving between fragmented poetic language and voice eroded into pure texture and vast drone.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Blu Aloé is a Berlin-based artist working with voice, processed through granular modular synthesis - moving between fragmented poetic language and voice eroded into pure texture and vast drone. Her practice operates at the intersection of drone, ambient, experimental electronics and industrial techno. She grew up in Cologne, Germany, where she became involved in the local techno scene in proximity to the Cologne-based label and cultural research platform Brutalism. Her recent EP Herde (03/26) was released on Karl O'Connor's Downwards Records. Her album Liminal Space (08/25), constructed entirely from vocal recordings, explores thresholds as zones of suspension - mapping the physicality of chaos and fragility. She recently performed live at Sanctum Of Sound, MaHalla Berlin. Boomkat: "Blu Aloé possesses a steely grasp of modular synthesis and dank aromas that feels out a bind between hermetic concentration and resonant decay. Her first bow on Karl O'Connor’s label [Downwards Records] explores her spectral voice at the crossroads of industrial experimentation, drone and noise techno, on a plane between Maria Zerfall’s cult ‘80s DIY works, Anne Gillis or Eros’ feel for haunted space and the rugged charges of Tuning Circuits."Their RA profile lists Downwards.often with Downwards, GLOBUS, Hybrid set, none of them here that night

Working across music, design and visual culture, his practice is driven by a fascination with how sound, image and context interact, and by a belief that meaningful experiences often emerge at the intersection of disciplines rather than within them. A relentless record collector whose musical interests move freely between genres, eras and geographies, Bruno approaches music as both a listener and a lifelong student. In music, his practice has developed largely outside formal training, self-taught through years of experimentation with sound synthesis, production tools and sound design, and grounded in record collecting and long-term listening. Whether behind the decks or in the studio, he gravitates towards music that rewards attention, revealing itself through texture, atmosphere and emotional nuance. As founder of Pluie/Noir and co-founder of Rings of Neptune, Bruno has spent more than a decade developing platforms dedicated to independent artistic practice, thoughtful curation and creative collaboration. Through record labels, events, audiovisual projects and publishing initiatives, his work consistently seeks to connect artists, ideas and audiences. Alongside his club-focused work, he produces under the alias Max Binski, exploring more experimental territories between IDM, ambient, downtempo and compositional sound design. Over the past decade, he has shared his music across clubs, festivals and listening spaces worldwide, while remaining closely connected to Berlin’s Club der Visionaere, a recurring thread throughout his DJ journey.Their RA profile lists Archipel, Unoiki, Kosmophono, Pluie/Noir and 6 more.Recently at Club der Visionaere, Hoppetosse, MaHalla · often with rubi*, ALINA (3), Atree, none of them here that night

“Scott Monteith is a musician, sound artist and music technology educator best known for his work under the stage name Deadbeat.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Scott Monteith is a musician, sound artist and music technology educator best known for his work under the stage name Deadbeat. Having launched his production career at the turn of the millennium, the Canadian-born, Berlin-based producer's 22 Deadbeat albums, three-dozen singles, and countless remixes and collaborations represent one of the most prolific and consistently rewarding catalogues in the modern electronic music canon. The city of Montreal played an outsized role in the sonic depths of his early works. Moving to the city in 1998, he secured a day job with local music software developer Applied Acoustics Systems and spent the late hours pursuing his own creative endeavours. In the spring of 2006, Monteith would make the move to Berlin. The move proved fruitful as his creative focus shifted from the studio to the stage, resulting in performance invitations from the most respected clubs and festivals the world over. As a DJ, Monteith is a dub archivist second to none, with a collection spanning the genre's early Jamaican roots, through the “steppers” versions of the 80s and 90s championed in the UK and Europe, to the current crop of global producers pushing the dub sounds into previously unheard directions and widely divergent rhythmic structures. This was most clearly highlighted with the release of his critically acclaimed DJ mix Radio Rothko in 2010, rated by various publications as one of the most genre-defining mix CDs of all time, highlighting both the founders and most progressive young producers of the Dub Techno sound at the time. In addition to his production and performance activities, his abilities as an educational speaker and workshop leader have been regularly called upon by the world-renowned Red Bull Music Academy, as well as technology leaders such as Microsoft, Ableton, and Native Instruments among others. A tireless innovator of vast creative vision, 20-plus years on, Monteith's restless creative spirit shows no signs of being quieted for many years to come.Their RA profile lists Wagon Repair, ~scape, Cynosure Recordings, Musique Risquée and 6 more.Recently at Kater, OHM, Club der Visionaere · often with Escapverte, Chica Paula, Max Loderbauer, none of them here that night

First Body works within the framework of ambient electroacoustics, with strong influences from the fields of contemporary music, jazz and free improvisation. Since 2022, they have been working with various acoustically amplified wind instruments (recorders, saxophone) and processing their signals electronically using various effect pedals and harmonizer. This instrumentation in the interplay of acoustic and electronic signals offers extremely complex and multi-layered possibilities to process signals, to improvise in their exchange and interplay and to compose their own music.Recently at Start.Bahn - Genezarethkirche · often with O.M.Theorem, Hybrid, none of them here that night

On her journey from the Welsh hills, via London and Berlin, she has honed her art, diving deep into cerebral realms of dream-driven, tactile dance music, expertly weaving the gentle and the angular, with a strong sense of groove throughout. Inspired by the sounds of early 90s Sheffield and Detroit, and above all by the machines and the people who give them their voice, Gwenan is known for her perceptive presentation of techno in all its forms. Up before dawn on the day of the gig, pulling together records to play that night, she teases out the spaces between styles that escape classification. Directness, grit, irresistible movement, a sense of circuits jumping into life—it’s an ears-first approach that puts body and mood before time and place. In the studio, Gwenan produces music ranging from abstract electronics to dancefloor grooves using a mixture of classic hardware, software and an ever-expanding tangle of modules. Live, you can catch her solo (as Phase Space live), and with Eli Verveine (as Gin & Tonic), as they do their best to step out of the way and let instinct—and the machines—do the talking.Recently at Tresor / Globus, Club der Visionaere, Paloma · often with Rasho, GLOBUS, TRESOR, none of them here that night

the whole biography
As a DJ, Eli Verveine is widely respected for her ability to build her own dancefloor wherever she is in the world. Always engaged with the crowd, Eli sees communication as integral to the art of DJing: whether it’s warm-up, peak-time or after-hours, she captures the collective energy and applies just the right doses of drama and restraint until every dancer is locked into a unified groove. Eli’s versatile blend of genres and moods has brought her to some of the most iconic stages around, from the clubs Bassiani, Panoramabar, Fabric and Closer to the festivals Garbicz, Rainbow Disco Club, Waking Life, and delivering the prestigious closing set at Organik Festival in Taiwan. She has a B2B project, Among Trees, with Andrey Pushkarev. As a live performer, Eli Verveine collaborates with Berlin-based DJ/musician Gwenan on the experimental live project Gin & Tonic. With a setup combining modular synthesis, drum machines, effects pedals and more, the duo tease variegated musical textures out of extended improvisations. This open-ended approach, grounded in close listening and a strong mutual understanding between the two, leads to intriguing musical dialogues in which the machines do the talking. As a producer, Eli Verveine’s discography stretches back to the Ness EP (2012) on Tardis Records, the label she runs with Oscar Schubaq. In 2023, she released the track ‘Morning Dub’, on a VA from Chateau Chépère, and ‘Reverie’, a track resulting from a project with school children in Basel. Jeena is a Palestinian-Canadian sound artist based in Berlin working with neuroacoustic sound, perception, and embodied listening. Her work moves through ambient composition, voice, and rhythm, forming slow listening environments where sound reshapes attention, emotion, and bodily state over time, both on and off the dancefloor. Spanning performance, recording, and installation, she treats sound less as genre and more as space drawing from ambient, electronic, and trance to create fluid, atmospheric systems of listening. She has presented work at ADE, HORST Festival, Roskilde Festival, Funkhaus, DGTL, and Concertgebouw, as well as a residency at Kwia. Her sound holds listening as a shared space. “Marco Shuttle has always achieved a lot with a little, and that is the singular aesthetic that stands him apart.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Marco Shuttle has always achieved a lot with a little, and that is the singular aesthetic that stands him apart. His cinematic techno sounds are unusually organic: they build pressure in subtle ways and his meticulous grooves never fail to take listeners on a trip to somewhere new and exciting. As a result of this, he has become a firm favourite amongst the techno cognoscenti and has released on some of the most revered labels of the day, from famed New York club The Bunker’s new label to Peter van Hoesen’s untouchable Time To Express via Clone SOS and his regular home, Eerie Records. Italian born but London based, where he also gained his MA in Fashion at St Martin’s. What ties his creative work together is a focus on abstract yet organic texture and the same thing defines his tightly woven DJ sets from fabric to Berghain to Labyrinth in Japan. His eclectic cerebral sound takes cues from jazz and musique concrete as much as it does from acid house and Detroit techno. Early breakout records like his 'The Vox Attitude' have been followed up with great abstract outings on Clone and remixes for Third Side, whilst the future promises a collaboration with compatriot and fellow producer and friend Donato Dozzy as Anxur. It will land on Eerie, Marco’s own well-formed label and is sure to be another supple and succulent offering that proves Marco Shuttle to be a uniquely minded techno troubadour.Their RA profile lists Clone Records, Time To Express, The Monkey Bar, The Bunker New York and 5 more.Recently at Haus der Visionäre, OHM, Tresor / Globus · often with Erika, Ma.to, Ekkel, none of them here that night

“Few artists move as fluidly between club culture, sound research and practice as Sarah Wreath.”

the whole biography
Few artists move as fluidly between club culture, sound research and practice as Sarah Wreath. With over two decades spent collecting electronic music and a DJ practice, her relationship with sound is the result of long, patient craftsmanship - rooted in vinyl, deep listening, and an intuitive understanding of atmosphere and flow. Sarah’s work resists fixed categories. Her sets and productions unfold as immersive journeys, navigating a wide spectrum of tempos and textures, from ambient and tribal rhythms to techno infused with a distinctly psychedelic charge. Regardless of form, her music is guided by a sensitivity to frequency, space, and the body’s response to sound. Through live sets, sound baths, and curated gatherings, she consistently explores sound as a connective force - capable of fostering introspection and collective experience. After dedicating her time to studying sound engineering, in 2024 Sarah released her debut LP Integration on the renowned label The Bunker New York, underscoring her commitment to immersive rhythm and sonic exploration. This path led to her collaboration on Sandwell District’s album End Beginnings, placing her within the current vanguard of experimental techno while continuing to explore sound as a tool for connection and transformation.Their RA profile lists Sandwell District and The Bunker New York.Recently at Tresor / Globus, Berghain · often with GLOBUS, TRESOR, Function, none of them here that night

Veras timeless music selection, a subtle mixing style and her authentic, elegant appearance behind the decks impressed clubbers and promoters all around the globe. Constantly evolving and picking up impulses, she follows her intuition rather then trends and she keeps surprising with unexpected sets. Veras media are her vinyls, that she’s choosing from an extended record collection. For her it’s all about the story a DJ is telling and the ambience being created, not about genres or playing one big tune after the other. Each gig she prepares passionately, imagining and selecting the right music for each place she's visiting. Her roots reach back to the golden age of techno and house- the early 90’s. Two decades of experience behind the decks turned her into a routined DJ, that is booked in numerous places all over the world. Since 2004 she has been a resident DJ at the Robert Johnson Club in Offenbach. As a producer Vera released music on respected labels like Perlon, Oslo, Hello? Repeat - solo works as well as collaborations with Ricardo Villalobos, Federico Molinari and with Maayan Nidam, under the moniker Mara Trax. Since 2011 Vera lives and works in Berlin, where she’s hosting regular nights at her favorite Berlin music spot, Club der Visionäre. “Vision, subversion, history and bliss each flow like life blood in the work of Woody92.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Vision, subversion, history and bliss each flow like life blood in the work of Woody92. A DJ, aesthete, label-owner and experimentalist operating within the consistently fascinating outer-reaches of the Dutch electronic music scene, Woody92 is a multi-faceted artist whose distinct perspective manifests itself across alternate yet intertwined sensory plains. As a DJ, his expertly curated and characteristic sets deviate from the norm, exploring psychoactive strains of leftfield electronics, hypnotic techno and radiant minimalism. Woody92 previously cemented his singular and sophisticated DJ style at a number of clubs and institutions, but is equally respected for capturing the energy and curiosity of audiences in outsider spaces across his native Netherlands, as well as far beyond. His pristine yet unpredictable mixes have already left a unique musical footprint, establishing a quietly defiant reputation as a musical curator with increasingly rare depth and focus. Born in the unassuming town of Delft on the West Coast of Holland, the more radical reverberations from neighbouring city The Hague had a subconscious and eventually more explicit effect on his youthful curiosity and creativity. Woody’s dedication to collecting and reinterpreting electronic music is both parallel and complimentary to his education in art, with a particular interest in graphic design, inspired by aesthetics throughout history and culture. The sum total of these passions manifests in Omen Wapta, a new record label and multidisciplinary platform launched by Woody92 in 2021. Highlighting music and creative projects from an international but close-knit circle of friends and collaborators, Omen Wapta is inspired by communal histories in order to imagine a collaborative future, a "transitory playground for the imagination" consisting of a broad spectrum of styles, encompassing fashion lines and design as well as sonic artefacts. With the alchemy of Omen Wapta as the beating heart of his overall vision, Woody92 continues to challenge himself and others, fluidly curating a path to creative enlightenment and a patiently earned catharsis, both in the club and inspired by it.Their RA profile lists Omen Wapta.Recently at RSO.BERLIN, MaHalla · often with Laima Adelaide, Jan Loup, VINVAR, none of them here that night
