“Character unlocked: karete bu.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Character unlocked: karete bu. Rooted in House groovers, UK-leaning rhythms, and a weakness for records with a bit of dusty history. Her sets are guided by hipswings that occasionally take a left turn when the room is ready for it, sharp timing, and a tendency to let things simmer until they don’t. As a former resident at Leipzig’s Institut fuer Zukunft, she fostered young talent in the DJ rehearsal room and developed a sound that isn’t afraid of spectacle when the moment calls for it. Today, based in Berlin, she works for the beloved festival Nachti by Nachtdigital, helping to shape it from the inside out and keeping the backstage just as lively as the dancefloor.Recently at Renate, Prince Charles, Jonny Knüppel · often with André Dancekowski, Franca, Immy, none of them here that night

“Vanaenae's great love is house music in all its variations, groovy with vocals, especially from the 90s.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Vanaenae's great love is house music in all its variations, groovy with vocals, especially from the 90s. With various Leipzig projects in the past (Music Of Color) as well as the present (G-Edit, Sunday Love Affair), she strives to shape club culture sustainably for BIPoC and FLINTA*. Vanaenae isn't interested in rigid genres; her music instead serves as bridge between various house subgenres, paying homage to classics and second-hand gems while incorporating contemporary releases.Recently at Kater, Ikii, Renate · often with HOPPER, ACID BOGEN, EXTRA, none of them here that night
