Metaverde, also known as Marie Midori, is a Swedish-Japanese artist born and based in Berlin, Germany. Influenced by their multicultural background, metaverde has explored a wide range of creative scenes throughout their life. From producing radio mixtapes in their childhood bedroom at the age of six, to busking around odd corners of the globe as a teenage scout leader, to dropping out of university to become a DJ in their early twenties—music has always been the strongest creative constant amid their ever-shifting interests. Fascinated by sound, the natural world, and the whimsical tales of Japanese anime, Marie enjoys digging between genres in search of pieces that defy easy categorization. The name metaverde—“between green”—directly references their given name Midori, which means “green” in Japanese.
