AXT (read as “acht”, German for 8) is a Ukrainian dj and sound producer now based in Berlin. War pushed her out of Kyiv, through Prague — where she held down residency at Bike Jesus, tore up floors at Ankali and Fuchs2, and linked up for the city’s first Keep Hush. In Berlin, she continues to expand her trajectory both as a solo artist and as a co-founder of Motsion, a Kyiv-bred multidisciplinary audio-visual collective throwing events from Istanbul to Amsterdam, Milan to Budapest. Her sets are built on massive, voluminous bass pressure and sharp, cutting highs, yet always carry a playful, almost tongue-in-cheek atmosphere. Think proper mental chewing gum: rhythms that keep twisting, flipping, making dancers pull out new shapes with every switch-up.
