the whole biography
(This biographical text was updated in November 2019.) Daniel Wang - the DJ for people who love to dance - and for everyone who loves music for music's sake. Daniel was born in Oakland, California, but spent 8 years of his childhood in Taipei; went to university near New York, and was deeply moved by the house music and the "disco classics" which he heard in the early 1990s at parties with DJs like Tee Scott, Francois Kevorkian, and Danny Krivit. He ended up living in downtown Manhattan from 1994 to 2003 and worked for 5 years at a synthesizer shop there, a job which became a sort of apprenticeship in all things related to the music which he loves. After releasing about ten vinyl 12"s on his own Balihu label, he put to use his newfound knowledge and produced 3 solid EPs for the Environ label of his dear friend Morgan Geist (aka Metro Area & Storm Queen). From that point on, in year 2001, Daniel began to travel and perform much more in Europe and in Japan. He moved to Berlin in 2003, which offered him new chances to learn and to perform for diverse audiences, from the welcoming queer crowds at Horse Meat Disco to festivals in London and Paris, at intimate venues from Tokyo to Helsinki, from Dublin to São Paulo. His DJ sets are well-known for their energetic blend of disco, soul, and old and new house tracks - but most of all for their sheer sense of joy and musicality, and their negation of all that is monotonous and mechanical in the so-called Electronic Dance Music scene of today. Around 2015, Daniel released two personal mix CDs in Japan featuring the back catalogs of New York's definitive disco labels, West End and Salsoul Records. He installed new software and monitor speakers in 2017, completed 2 remixes for the artists Wolfgang Tillmans and Cerrone, and just put out a new 12" under the moniker "S.D.A.P (Some Drums And Pianos)" in late summer of 2019. But most of all, Daniel remains enchanted by the people, the streets, and the nightclubs of Berlin. He can be heard regularly at Schwuz, Wilde Renate, and at his monthly residence at the Paloma Bar in Kreuzberg. Stay tuned to see what comes out of his studio after this long period of nesting and soul-searching in the ultra-hip, ultra-banal, mythical capital city of Germania :-)Their RA profile lists Playhouse, Environ Records, Ghostly International, Balihu and 2 more.Recently at Kater, OXI, KREUZWERK · often with Disco Gessner, Clark Kent, Paul Older, none of them here that night

A globetrotter at heart (originally from Sudan, raised in the UAE & lived in the US, Malaysia, Sweden & Germany), I've traveled the world pursuing the magical feeling only dancefloors can exude; a search that proved to me that regardless of where you are: genres don't matter. What matters is the feeling the music gives, the energy/soul you put into it & the space as a participant in the collective experience; be it as a dancer, dj or organiser. This heavily informs my taste and selections that I explore through my sets as well as the curation of the projects I organise: as a resident radio host at Berlin’s online radio station Refuge Worldwide, as a co-host of 'Endless Groove' (a non-profit Loft inspired community driven party based in Stockholm & Berlin), initiator of 'Black Is...' (gender-inclusive platform supporting BIPOC voices based in Berlin & Amsterdam) & founder of ‘Wild Combination’ (a Berlin multi collective showcase benefitting essential causes), as well as the curation of my bi-monthly VIBRATIO)))NS mix series.Recently at Maaya, Else, Atemporal · often with Ken Okuda, Afrodisiac, Sean Steinfeger, none of them here that night

their own biography
the whole biography
elliephunk (she/her) is an old-school CD collector turned Berlin club regular, with an honest passion for music that soothes the soul. Raised between Taipei and KC, with formative years in Spain, her sound draws from global influences: from jazz, bossa nova, RnB / hip-hop, to classic house grooves that now define her signature sets. Her sets balance soulful melodies with spicy rhythms, weaving in handbag vocals, Afro/Latin beats, UKG breaks, and 90’s nostalgia into playful, bass-heavy blends. Beyond the club, she is founder of @casadephunk, a community-rooted project that centers the concept of home, spotlighting queer, POC, FLINTA artists across music, art, fashion, and performance. Also, as resident at Refuge Worldwide, where she hosts “shoes-off”. ----- The story of @casadephunk started in 2022, with trip back to Barcelona — inviting along a group of friends, bringing her brand new USB loaded with spankin’ hot house tunes and a “fits perfectly in my carry-on” DDJ-400 mixer …her crew never made it out to Barcelona’s nightclubs.Recently at Maaya, Bar Neun, Atelier Gardens Campus · often with Triqi, Jimmie, Ina Vietha, none of them here that night

Shaped by years of going to the source—from NYC, Chicago and Detroit to Tokyo and other cities across Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia—immersing himself in underground scenes, learning directly from key figures and local communities, and performing on storied dance floors along the way, he has developed an authentic voice as a multidisciplinary artist on and off the floor. As a DJ, he crafts sets that are heavily informed by his background as a dancer: playful and daring, shifting in rhythm and pace across genres while being deeply rooted in queer lineages of house and club culture. An active member of the ballroom, whacking and house dance scenes, he draws on years of shared practice to give their movements and stories space at the center of the night, where they are lived rather than referenced. During his years in Copenhagen, he launched SPECTRA, a queer- and dance-centered club night and residency, and co-founded UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE, a sober dance and club initiative—projects that create spaces for genuine connection, joy and self-expression, keeping faith with the original promise of the dance floor. ~ REFERENCES [USA] New York City, NY ~ Good Room · Le Bain · Bossa Nova · Jupiter Disco · The Lot Radio Detroit, MI ~ Movement · Temple Bar · Underground Music Academy Chicago, IL ~ Smart Bar · Arbella [EUROPE] Berlin, DE ~ Sisyphos · Fusion Festival · Multisex · Renate · Refuge Worldwide Hamburg, DE ~ Queer Pool · Südpol Cologne, DE ~ Fi · Odonien · Zugvøgel Festival Munich, DE ~ Charlie Glasgow, UK ~ Stereo Edinburgh, UK ~ Sneaky Pete’s Copenhagen, DK ~ Jolene · Den Anden Side · Culture Box [ASIA] Tokyo / Osaka, JP ~ Mitsuki · Bridge · Aoyama Tunnel · Oath · Bonobo Seoul / Busan / Daegu, SK ~ Seoul Community Radio · Bolero · Output · OST Bangkok, TH ~ Safe Room Ho Chi Minh City, VN ~ The Lighthouse Manila, PH ~ XX XX · Circus 2020 FestivalTheir RA profile lists LIKE Recordings and Miura Records.Recently at ÆDEN, Crack Bellmer, Privatclub · often with materia hache, Triqi, Manta, none of them here that night

An electrical charge runs through everything Lucinee transmits. Her music productions and DJ sets carry a peak-time urgency, blending hypnotic synth lines and driving drums with deeper, atmospheric moments.
