320 strikes a delicate balance pulling deftly from the sounds of the underground while forging a sound uniquely his own. Existing singularly within both the deep listening and club spheres, his sound is deeply personal, introspective, and meticulously self-aware. Hazy ambient worlds develop through contemporary sound design and dubbed-out atmospheres. In club settings, sets take a tactile, stripped-back approach to house and techno, drawing from minimal, dub, and bass aesthetics to drive with clever rhythms and a tech-y cool. A rising curatorial voice in New York, 320 is a co-founder of the ambient/experimental performance series Ballet and an organizer of DURATIONS Festival. In 2022 he released his second EP Angel Hours to high acclaim. Angel Hours rise felt like it was imminent from the first listen, with contributions from Noa (Voice Actor/Stroom) and 3NDLES5 (Low Life). Mike’s production across the release feels akin to 90’s artists like I:Cube, Thievery Corporation or certain Weatherall moments. The heavenly references are well deserved with multiple moments on the release feeling truly divine, whilst others take a low-lit and alluring feel. Mike Midnight feels singular in the Australian music landscape. Angel Hours continues the lineage of Australian music breaking through to international recognition with the release becoming a mainstay on NTS Radio, breakfast show host Flo Dill dubbing it “music that when listened to at night makes you feel unstoppable.” His recent DJ sets at Globus, Miscellania and on The Lot Radio showcase his unique skills as a DJ. Guided by her devotion to sound system culture and bass forward arrangements, Mui Mui weaves tracks across the dub continuum with dynamic selections that forefront percussion, groove, and bass. Drawing from her extensive experience playing both pummeling late-night club sets and more cerebral radio hours, Mui Mui’s precise mixing and fearless approach to genre serves to make dance floors feel at once mischievous and cohesive, sacred and sultry. Her training as a classical ballet dancer fuels her love of full body sounds- embracing, welcoming, and guiding the body and mind through her inner narratives. A cornerstone of the NYC underground, she has also held residencies at Noods Radio and Hong Kong Community Radio, and has played to dance floors internationally, including in Tokyo, Montreal, Berlin, and in cities across the US and UK.
