With a background in classical music shaping her understanding of composition, tension, and creating immersive experiences, she approaches music as an emotional outlet allowing space for introspection and connection on the dancefloor. Based between Berlin and Vienna, her sound now unfolds through deep atmospheres and hypnotic rhythms to sets that are built as evolving journeys. Alongside her work as a DJ and producer, Artifex is a member of DYS Records, contributing to the label's artistic development. Another core part of her work is advocating for other FLINTA* and queer artists, reflecting her commitment to fostering a more diverse and sustainable community. Whether behind the decks or in the studio, Artifex approaches music as an ongoing practice rooted in curiosity, intention, and a deep respect for the culture that continues to inspire her.Recently at ://about blank, Crack Bellmer, Tresor / Globus · often with Rill, SELESSA T., Katnada, none of them here that night

ESCH Berlin “In Greek mythology, Thanatos was the daemon personification of death. In classical Freudian psychoanalytic theory, Thanatos represents the death drive (German: Todestrieb); the drive towards death, self-destruction and the return to the inorganic: “the hypothesis of a death instinct, the task of which is to lead organic life back into the inanimate state”. The death drive opposes Eros, the tendency toward survival, propagation, sex, and other creative, life-producing drives.”Last at ://about blank in Jul · often with Rodmin, Electric Visionary, Vy Tran, none of them here that night

the whole biography
Shimmy Robin is a Hamburg-based DJ and producer whose sets tell a story without relying on clichés but with sounds that move her — emotionally and physically. Exploring intricate patterns and shifting textures, she crafts immersive soundscapes built on percussive grooves, hypnotic rhythms and ethereal synth lines. Carefully placed vocal snippets bring moments of intensity and release, adding emotional depth without overwhelming the momentum. She is creating an atmosphere that’s both deep and danceable, keeping the room locked in without ever sounding formulaic. Her roots go back to the former collective OSZIL, known for open-minded, non-commercial club nights. Since 2022, she has been co-curating the event series blipmotif alongside dj blip at the legendary Golden Pudel Club. Together, they also form the production project Rea Cephei. The blipmotif series explores the hypnotic spectrum of techno, inviting artists who guide audiences into trance-like states, while leaving room for playful detours through eclectic terrain. In 2023, she formed shimmy chanel with dj fako. A dynamic duo built on shared trust, tight mixing and a love for bold yet unpretentious club sounds. They deliver high-energy sets that move fluidly between technoid, drum-driven pressure, groovy undercurrents and the occasional cheeky twist — always rooted in rhythm, always aimed at the dancefloor. As a resident at Golden Pudel and with appearances at venues like Tresor, Else, About Blank, ÆDEN, Gewölbe, JAKI, or PAL/NTSC, Shimmy Robin has built a reputation for sets that shift the energy. Whether playing festivals like HABITAT, Café Soda, sweaty basements, or rooms like MODULE (Copenhagen) and Gehør (Oslo), she brings focus, instinct, and a refreshing lack of ego.Recently at RSO.BERLIN, Tresor / Globus, Backsteinboot · often with TRESOR, Hanna Baertig, Rill, none of them here that night
