the whole biography
A lifelong cartoonist and graphic designer, a young Oldham published his own indie comic book "Johnny Gambit" in 1987 to local notoriety. Hired that same year by his childhood friend Derrick May to illustrate several memorable pieces for his new Transmat label, this led to Oldham's very first involvement in the fledgling techno scene. More art requests quickly followed, most famously from the Djax-Up-Beats label (NL), where his art took center stage for many years (the lone EP that Oldham produced for Djax, under the name Signal To Noise Ratio, brought home a 1991 Detroit Metro Times Music Award for best single in "Detroit Is Burning"). At the same time, college-student Oldham was hired at local radio station WDET, hosting Detroit's first-ever all-electronic radio program, "Fast Forward," introducing artists like UR, Richie Hawtin and Carl Craig to local airwaves. Five years later, Oldham found himself under the tutelage of UR's Mad Mike Banks. Initially hired as UR's "Minister of Information," working side-by-side with Rob Hood and others in the office, Oldham was eventually tapped to replace his departing friend Jeff Mills as DJ on UR's world tour (quitting WDET in the process), and DJ T-1000 (and his label Generator, distributed by Submerge) was born. Big shoes to fill, but he was up to the task. For a year afterwards, Oldham toured with Banks in the UR techno boot camp. Since those long-ago days, a solo Oldham continues to rock crowds in Berlin (with an unofficial residency at Tresor), Milan, Barcelona (unofficial residency at Moog), Madrid, London, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and all points in between with his own no-nonsense brand of bangin', funky-ass techno. When DJ T-1000 is on the flyer, fans know he's bringing the ruckus. In 2004, Oldham finally left a flagging Motor City for the Midwest boomtown of Chicago. And in 2005 he finally established his permanent European base in the world's latest electronic music capital, Berlin. When he's not behind the decks or in the studio producing electronic dance music for labels like Tresor Berlin, Inzec (CH), Minimalsoul (CH), or his own Pure Sonik and Generator imprints, Oldham has provided artwork for the electronic music industry for almost 20 years. Also, his drawings and large-scale paintings have been on display in art galleries in Chicago, Berlin, Paris, Los Angeles, and most recently a sold-out opening in Amsterdam.Their RA profile lists React Records, Astralwerks, BPitch, Tresor and 6 more.Recently at Der Weiße Hase, Tresor / Globus · often with TT, Elektrovögel, Bad Boy, none of them here that night

Denise Rabe´s experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she's developed as a producer. Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she's done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally. This has allowed her to recruit the artist who´s work resonates with her sensibility and can be heard in the remixes Rrose, Shxcxchcxsh, Headless Horseman, among others, have done for her releases on her and other labels. Imprints such as Mutewax, who released her first 12" in 2015, ARTS where she quickly became one of the label´s staples and Stroboscopic Artifacts where she published "Manifesto" in 2019, are clear reference points that describe her career and its development. Rabe’s particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.Their RA profile lists Soma Records, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Illegal Alien Records, Diffuse Reality and 6 more.Recently at Renate, Berghain, Tresor / Globus · often with Berghain, Ignez, Franziska Berns, none of them here that night

Fireground is the live electronic project of Angela and Daniele, a Neapolitan duo developing a rhythm-driven approach to techno rooted in musicality and the physical energy of performance. Originally from Naples in Southern Italy, their music channels the rhythmic sensibilities of Mediterranean culture into contemporary club music, combining groove-driven techno, house-rooted harmony and percussive dancefloor energy, a style that reconnects techno with warmth, movement and musical depth. After relocating to Berlin, Fireground became closely connected to the ecosystem surrounding Tresor Records, debuting on the label during its 30th anniversary celebrations and establishing an ongoing relationship with the historic institution. Their trajectory later expanded through releases on the Munich-based imprint Ilian Tape, placing the duo within a generation of artists exploring rhythm-focused approaches to techno. At the core of the project lies a hardware-based live performance where percussion, expressive synthesis and harmonic movement unfold through evolving rhythmic patterns. Occasionally expanding into extended live formats, the performance incorporates piano, opening the music toward deeper and more soulful harmonic exploration. Across clubs and festivals throughout Europe, Fireground have developed a reputation for groove-heavy performances that move fluidly between techno and house contexts while remaining unmistakably alive on the dancefloor.Their RA profile lists Tresor and Ilian Tape.Recently at Tresor / Globus, RSO.BERLIN, Tempelhof Airport · often with The Shed, Terrence Dixon, Thomas Hoffmann, none of them here that night

For well over a decade, DTM Funk has stood at the forefront of Antwerp’s and Belgium’s music scene. Long before becoming one of the country’s most respected DJs, he was already shaping and nurturing the culture of our beloved nocturnal habitat. With a strong dedication to local talent and a global outlook that rises above fleeting trends and hypes, he has continuously created safer spaces for auditive discoveries of a different kind. Through Black Gravity, DTM Funk explores and recontextualizes the knowledge, history, and future of Black club music. What started as a club concept evolved into a multidisciplinary platform encompassing club nights, film screenings, performances and recently he opened a listening room and record store under the name Black Gravity Records. As a longtime collaborator and fixture at Horst Festival, DTM Funk has firmly established himself as one of Belgium’s most versatile and in-demand DJs. His sets are driven by soul, groove, and rhythm rather than genre limitations, allowing him to move seamlessly between percussion-driven groovers, jazz-funk and soul records, raw and sensual house gems, and unexpected left turns from across the musical spectrum. Whether guiding an early afternoon festival crowd or closing down a dark, sweat-soaked club night, DTM Funk brings people together through movement, connection, and deep musical storytelling — always keeping the dancefloor alive.Recently at Pastiche · often with smooth.gaal, ZENA, Caesarr, none of them here that night
“Half A Man is a DJ whose work centres on the exploration of house music and the spaces it shares with techno, disco and deeper strands of electronic music.”

the whole biography
Half A Man is a DJ whose work centres on the exploration of house music and the spaces it shares with techno, disco and deeper strands of electronic music. Guided by a commitment to 4/4 rhythms, his approach is less defined by genre boundaries than by the relationships that emerge between sounds, textures and tempos. Growing up in Naples, his musical sensibility was shaped early by Neapolitan and Italian traditions before gradually expanding through exposure to electronic music and informal party culture during his teenage years. A fascination with analog machinery, raw textures and the physicality of sound led naturally toward record collecting and an evolving interest in DJing as a form of musical dialogue rather than stylistic limitation. Since 2010, Half A Man has been active within Naples’ underground landscape, playing clubs including Velvet, Boudoir and Lanificio 25, alongside independently organised parties across the city. Relocating to Berlin in 2016 introduced a new environment for experimentation and listening, informed by a city in constant musical transformation while maintaining a close connection to earlier influences and dance floor traditions. His sets are characterised by fluid movement between moods and registers, drawing from house, techno, disco and peripheral sounds without settling into fixed formulas. Focused on context, pacing and atmosphere, the emphasis remains on selection as an open process of connection and discovery. Alongside his DJ practice, Half A Man is currently involved in a number of developing collaborations and forthcoming label projects in Berlin, extending an ongoing interest in collective work, musical exchange and future-facing forms of dance music.“Subradeon: the Neapolitan New School Techno producers and DJ's first and foremost, Subradeon find Soul at the heart of their work, be it via their productions on labels like Rekids, Motech and Hardgroove - or in their consistently engaging DJ sets, where the duo's strong bond and years of collaboration make for an enigmatic mix of layered Techno, House, Acapellas and Samples mixed live, often using the classic six-turntable-two-mixer setup synonymous with back to back Techno DJ'ing.”

Subradeon: the Neapolitan New School Techno producers and DJ's first and foremost, Subradeon find Soul at the heart of their work, be it via their productions on labels like Rekids, Motech and Hardgroove - or in their consistently engaging DJ sets, where the duo's strong bond and years of collaboration make for an enigmatic mix of layered Techno, House, Acapellas and Samples mixed live, often using the classic six-turntable-two-mixer setup synonymous with back to back Techno DJ'ing. Giuseppe Salone and Salvatore Iannotta met in their mid-teens at home in Caserta, a small city just outside of Naples. Quickly bonding as a result of their love for the blooming Napoli Techno scene, the two friends started to DJ together, emulating the 140+ BPM style they were introduced to by Dave Clarke, Gaetano Parisio and Rino Cerrone at venues like Old River Park and Golden Gate. After becoming regulars on the Neapolitan club circuit whilst still in their late teens, they saw the early 00’s techno that they had fallen in love with start to slip away from club culture in their home province. As a result of this, Giuseppe made the move to Berlin in August of 2012 and after falling in love with the city, convinced Salvatore to join him six months later. Fast forward to 2017, after a few years spent honing their sound and Subradeon’s ‘South Connection EP’ found it’s home on Detroit’s Motech label. The EP encompassed four tracks, opening with the sweeping 'Magdala', before the ready stomp of 'Hood'. 'South Connection' takes it deeper with scattered synths, before closer, 'Trouble Woman' delivers a witty vocal cut-up among the Techno beats... This release was duly picked up by the wider techno community, and, gathering momentum, a year later Subradeon launched their eponymous label and dropped SBRDN001 - a 180g Vinyl four-track EP which asks one question: “What would you do if you woke up one day, deprived of your emotional memory?” to which the duo responds: “There is a technological revolution with the impact of automation and cybernation. And that is a human rights revolution, all over the world.” [Track ID: Cybernation] This EP captured the attention of Radio Slave, leading to the birth of ‘Walking Through Motown’ dropping just a few months later on his own label Rekids. The record was a true bomb, designed to draw you into Subradeon’s take on Motor-City-Soul and take you on a journey through the 313, in homage to the Detroit pioneers of the Techno sound. Moving into 2019, alongside picking up a regular slot in the booth at Tresor, Subradeon dropped ‘Movement EP’ on Deetron’s label, Character. The EP was a vocal response to their heroes in the wider Techno community, a moment of gratitude centring on the premise that ‘Each One, Teach One’, honouring the sonic masters who had come before them. Subradeon then delivered their second EP of 2019 on Subradeon Records, ‘Sounds of Our Mothers’ Mothers’. The title track is a pounding, soulful ballad carried by a voice of freedom - a message of thanks to those women who have shaped the destiny of humanity. Moving into 2020, Subradeon spent the early part of the year in the studio, preparing for new releases to come in the second half of the year, alongside recording a dynamic and pounding mix for HOR during the lockdown. 0823 calls 313, a message of revolution.Their RA profile lists Rekids, Motech, Character, Hardgroove and 3 more.Recently at Prince Charles, Coco Boule · often with Kurilo, Achilles Moss, ACID BOGEN, none of them here that night
