Natürlich hat er sich auch für Vinyl interessiert und sich das passende Equipment nach kurzer Zeit zugelegt. Er nutzt seit dem jede freie Minute um sein Talent und sein Skill zu verbessern. Biography There are not many electronic activists who has been on the scene for 15 years and still set trends. Asem Shama is one of them. Since the beginning of the 90’s he can be considered as one of the pioneers of electronic music in Germany. Having his roots in Hip Hop, being a renowned rapper. In the 80’s, he made his first experimental steps into producing electronic beats at his friend’s studio. There he found his new musical home and a place where he could develop his creativity in unlimited spheres. Next to his approaches as a techno producer he was the inventor of the legendary Ravesyndrome events. In this time he also build up his own studio and launched his first label “Syndrome Audio” with his longtime companion – Axel Bartsch on which he released 15 vinyls until 1994. In the following years he established himself as one of the key players in techno music, releasing vinyl on labels like Bush, Planet of Drums, Frisbee Tracks, Utils and Spiel-Zeug, making him an underground legend in the German techno scene. His breakthrough came with the track “Flash”, that was recognized by the remains of the band “Queens” themselves and afterwards was promoted as an official remix. He hit Top 20 charts across Europe, marking 15th position in the UK and 17th in Germany. With this major recognition he still continued to concentrate on the underground and was not giving up his upfront emphatic style of producing and mixing. His reputation as a DJ grew constantly, making him play all over the world and getting world wide reputation. In 2005 he co-founded the label Sportclub focussed on a rather minimalistic style of techno. After moving to Berlin and getting new inspiration from the electronica capitol of the world he is heading towards new horizons. In 2009 he joined the Berlin based label Highgrade and made himself a fixed factor of the berlin club scene by raising enthusiasm with his sets in the trendsetting clubs like Berghain, Watergate and nearly any other club worth mentioning. In 2013 Asem releases his 1st Artist Album „MNDCTRL“ which marks a new meridian in his production skills and musical variety. One year laster he even comes up with his second Album “Chaos Theory” on London based Label “Minimal Force”. Born near Cologne, Germany in the early 80's, Dompe developed a taste for beats very early on and just as quickly the pots, pans and wooden spoons were abducted from the kitchen so he could practice drumming with them. It really did not take long before a drum set was under the Christmas tree. Inspired by Nirvana and Metallica, he drove the neighborhood crazy with his practicing! Then in 1996, Dompe made a new discovery: Vinyl. His amazment at how such a small needle brought such huge, dancefloor rocking beats to life was indescribable! The drums were quickly traded in for turntables and a mixer. And after the first few visits to the Warehouse, (a club in Cologne, Germany), Dompe had nothing but 4 to floor beats in his ears. He survived countless hours of mixing records in his living room until he got his first gigs. He, at the same time, worked on his sound and refined his skills as a producer and sound designer. 2008 was the year when everything changed: Dompe started throwing his own parties at ElektroKüche (Cologne, Germany) and soon after became a resident at the club. These days he can be found behind the decks at Legendary clubs and parties such as: Area at Tresor (Berlin), Douala or Nature One. Having been exposed to electronic music primarily as a raver in Nairobi's growing electronic music scene around 2010, his love for the pulsing 4x4 beats, his keen ear and appreciation for underground music cuts and his growing musical collection soon lead to him making a switch from clubber to DJ. Stepping behind the decks at numerous parties and venues across the city, he soon became known for his unrelenting groovy selections, sourced through his passion to dig and uncover deep, quirky, and more experimental tracks. Quickly becoming a mainstay in the local electronic music scene, he held residencies at clubs such as the now defunct Insomnia Nightclub, The Loft and Budhaa Bar in Nairobi. 2014 saw the formation of the Temple Nairobi collective, a group of like minded individuals including Raj that began to promote regular parties in Nairobi, focusing on showcasing a distinct underground house/techno sound. Temple quickly became known as Kenya's foremost underground electronic music event series, and Raj built a notorious reputation there for his hypnotic, often extended, closing sessions.
