As gifted on the decks as he is in the studio, CHKLTE approaches music with a delicateness that defies his towering stature. With vibrant, seductive blooms and deep, syrupy booms, his subtleties climb into the ear like tendrils. Jonathan began sneaking into South Texas clubs at the age of 15 to DJ after countless hours digging through online archives. In 2012, he became a resident of Austin TX and quickly became a regular guest DJ across the state. CHKLTE is now a resident DJ behind the infamous Blacktone agency & party series that sparked out of Austin Texas, which regularly hosts the likes of Dyed Soundroom, Nicolas Lutz, Francesco Del Garda, tINI, Raresh, Praslea , Lamache and Robin Ordell. The move from Jonathan to CHKLTE spurned a series of releases on labels such as OGE, We R The Aliens, Personality Disorder, Vatos Locos, Solid Grooves Raw, Moonfruit, Floorpiece Digital, Melotherapy and Honne Music. He has also launched 2 labels both for vinyl format; CHOKO & Crowded Floor, and has launched his digital label exclusively through bandcamp; ChokoDIGI, where you can personal edits & originals. CHKLTE is now based between Ibiza & the US and can often be found controlling the dance floors of Fabric London, Hi Ibiza, DC 10 Ibiza, Epizode & UNUM festivals in Albania, ADE in Amsterdam, Club der Visionaere, as well as Mexico, Canada, London, Romania, Czech Republic & Bulgaria. He can be often found on lineups alongside Dyed Soundorom, Gescu, The Martinez Brothers, Voigtmann, Nu Zau, tINI, Herodot, Priku, Afriqua and in May 2021 closed Space Miami b2b2b with the legendary pairing of Ricardo Villalobos and Raresh.Their RA profile lists Visionquest, Unscene Records, Melotherapy, Mind&Vision and 6 more.Last at Club der Visionaere in Jul · often with David Berrie, Amba, Auphoria, none of them here that night

the whole biography
Topper grew up in Turin (IT) surrounded by substances and tunes typical of a hippie-kind of environment. Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd were his daily milk. His dad, the "hippie", had a huge influence on him, and introduced his curious kid into the magic world of music and psychedelic culture. That’s the reason why he felt like he was born for music. Right at the beginning of the 3rd millennium he decided to move to Berlin. Since then, Topper is experimenting with his sound, discovering the hidden shapes of electronic and recorded music, meanwhile performing as dj with several Berlin crews (Klangsucht above all) and at several underground parties all around the city. Since 2009 he’s resident with Daniele Papini at Club der Visionäre, hosting the infamous Noisy Glance party. Together with Daniele he joined Sleep is Commercial and became one of the djs/producers on which the label's sound in productions and parties is focused on. He's resident in all Sleep is Commercial parties in Berlin. After his sound engineering studies and some years of deep studio engagement, in 2014 he released his first LP “Down by the River” and a handful of very well received EPs and remixes. Moving to the infamous Pausenraum studio was the definitive shift into a jam based creative process through a hardware setup, whose outcome will be the foundation of 3 labels to be started in 2015. A contemporary voodoo child...Their RA profile lists Serialism Records, Meander, Sleep is Commercial, 31337 Records and 6 more.Recently at Club der Visionaere, Golden Gate, Sonnenraum · often with Daniele Papini, Clovis, Triptease, none of them here that night
