Fjernstyrt returns to Bohnengold for one very special night in memory of our friend Jarle Bråthen, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Between December 2015 and 2020, Jarle made Bohnengold his home every month with Fjernstyrt—a night that brought together local selectors and international guests, united by a love of the Nordic cosmic disco scene, and a community that felt like family. Although the parties came to an end when the pandemic closed the clubs, the friendships and memories they created have stayed with us.
For one night only, we'll gather to celebrate Jarle the best way we know how: through music, dancing, and the people who shared this part of his Berlin journey. Friends, DJs, and familiar faces from the Fjernstyrt years will come together to honour his life and the lasting mark he left on so many of us.
Come raise a shot of Underberg, share a story, have a dance, and help us celebrate a beautiful soul who brought so many people together.

British Producer and DJ Danny Russell has a long standing love with the sound we call House. Graduating from the school of ‚03 and the dance floor of Manchester’s legendary Sankeys Soap. He’s been steeped in dance music culture since those heady days –a digger and disco lover who went on to gain a degree in sound engineering and make his own music with impressive results. With a reputation for creating disco-fried, deep house grooves that hit the sweet spot with dancers and club aficianados alike. Danny lives and works out of Berlin these days. Making notable releases for the likes of Defected who signed his 2018 hit ‘Watchin Out’ alongside Dirty Channels, turning it from a vinyl No.1 and Mixmag’s Tune of the Month, into a club monster and Spotify smash with well over 3 million plays. Picked up and played by taste-makers such as Dan Shake, Josh Wink and Giles Peterson and finding him new fans in Spiller, Sam Devine and Kevin Saunderson. Danny’s ‘Love Rescue’ release on Sprechen was one of Craig Charles (BBC6 Music) best tracks of 2020 and included it in his 100 tunes of all time. Musically, Danny covers everything from upfront disco edits to jacked-up house grooves and is signed to the likes of Defected, Paper Recordings, Midnight Riot, Athens of the North and more. His hits have translated into gigs across the world including sets at the 50th Pride Anniversary in New York City, Word of Mouth in Ibiza, underground institution Pygmalion in Dublin and rooftop clubs in Havana, Cuba. And since moving to Berlin in 2012, he’s become a regular headliner at the city’s best clubs including Watergate, Renate, King Size and Neue Heimat. He currently holds down three new Berlin residencies, and has upcoming international gigs as well. With more releases to come and a habit of creating big tunes that resonate long after they’ve been released, expect to hear a lot more from Danny Russell in the near future. Enzo Elia has crafted his own style of Djing and producing that has taken him all over Europe as well as to Tokyo and Tel Aviv. Emerging almost twenty years ago listening to classic Disco, Chicago House and Detroit Techno, he always delivers an “eclectic “journey through his overflowing vinyl collection. Elia’s chameleon approach also finds release in parallel projects like El Freakadell and Balearic Gabba Sound System. Franz Scala’s sets are as diverse as the music he curates as label head of Slow Motion. Weaving smoothly between Italian Dance, Psychedelic Disco and Proto House, Franz quickly turns the dance floor into a vignette-tainted retro nostalgia rave fueled only by his music. Born in Italy and now a resident of Berlin for a decade Franz has his roots in noise rock and elettronica but was led by the record collectors passion into acquiring a taste for modern and not so modern dance floor music. He frequently inspires dancers in clubs all over Europe with his eclectic blend of spacey House, New Wave, Italo and Acid speckled with hints of Electro and Chicago House. Aside from producing on his own imprint, he has releases on World Unknown, Bordello A Parigi, Bahnsteig 23, Tusk Wax, Mechatronica or Discodromo´s Cocktail d’Amore Music. As a true believer of the power of hardware samplers and analogue synthesizers, Italo Brutalo created his own universe of soundscapes and style of music. After lots of releases on labels like Mozzarella Rec, Days of Being Wild, Compuphonic, RFR Records or Nang Records he made himself a very good name amongst artists from all different genres and decades. His records are supported by credible and popular acts as well. In the early 2000s he was international dj champion (german, europe and viceworld) due to his innovative sets, spectacular technique, edgy music selection and perfomance. These two huge influences along with her international upbringing in Norway, Egypt and Poland and her creative multilingual mindset all shine brightly through her music. 10 years living and working on the famous mediterranean island of Ibiza has seen her involved with some of the biggest promoters in the music industry such as Cocoon Ibiza and Monza. An avid collector and player of all things vinyl, she is also one of the residents and creators of Ibizas most successful weekly open-air party The Zoo Project. Berlin, her second home, exposed her to its raw creativity helping her develop her production skills whilst playing at venues such as Kater Holzig, Sisyphos or Kitkat. Appreciating the fundamentals of raw Chicago and Detroit house music, her trademark style fuses elements of the two smoothly together with the minimalistic, forward thinking deep house that has become synonymous with her sound. Never afraid to stray from her norm and always keen to experiment with something outside of the traditional house/ techno paradigm, her vinyl selection is seductive, laid-back and hypnotic while all the time retaining a driving, motivating rhythm. Karina although best known for her hypnotic performances at intimate venues, has no problem turning it up a notch with electrifying sets at events such as Kazantip Republic Festival (Ukraine) on the main stage in front of thousands of people. Her ability to mix any vinyl from disco to techno has had her smashing dance floors in many exotic destinations from Cape Town (That's What She Said) to Tijuana (Deck 22). Her prestigious residency at Analog Room in Dubai, her K1 release on Chicago based label ‘God Particle’ and release on “Cymawax’ as well as forthcoming music on the NYC imprint 'Absence Seizure', display both her technical production skills and ability to engage with a live audience. Karina's first visit to New York resulted in a collaboration between Ibiza's infamous openair The Zoo Project and Brooklyns finest warehouse parties Blk Market. Several years in a row she flew over to play at different warehouses of New York to share the decks with the likes of Robag Wruhme, Seth Troxler or Daniel Bell just to name a few. Being the first DJ to ever play at legendary Panther Room in New York, Karina has ever since frequently toured North America performing in top notch spots such as Housepitality in San Francisco, Creme de la Creme in Dallas, Smart Bar Chicago, Eaton Hotel in Washington DC. In The Big Apple she's known for her house and techno selection at several venues such as Brooklyn Mirage or Elsewhere to playing disco at smaller Manhattan hangouts like Nublu Classic. The C&K project launched together with NYC native Connie Yin at the end of 2018, had the two artists joining forces to play the final month of its existence at the legendary Panther Room in Williamsburg. Confident in their choices, C&K blend a variety of sounds, experimenting with 4/4 beats and unquantified live minimal arrangements. With the success of their debut C&K 'Behave' EP on Decay Records (vinyl and digital) further releases are in the pipeline as well as planning their own vinyl imprint. Inspired by Parliament Funkadelic, Prince and House music scene and based in Berlin since 2012, this queer collective has become one of the city’s most provocative and eccentric music imports. The legendary US talk show host Conan O’Brien selected SADO OPERA as a musical symbol of Berlin and joined them onstage for his TV special about the German capital. The resident band of Wilde Renate and Ficken3000 – Berlin’s most notorious nightclubs - SADO OPERA also play shows all across Europe, spreading their message of unrestrained, gender-fluid love. Naturally, there’s been a whole lot of attention from various corners of the press too, with interviews ranging from the BBC Music to Gay Times and Pink News exploring the band’s music and activism. One of the prevailing themes in the SADO OPERA philosophy is inclusivity, and the band talk passionately about queer visibility.
