Born in Lima and raised in Germany, Unna Foulanah has been based in Berlin since 2017. Her musical identity is shaped by a nomadic ear — from 90s radio pop in the backseat of her parents’ car to the subcultural soundscapes of Eastern Germany’s DIY scenes in cities like Jena and Halle. These spaces instilled in her a strong sense of community, resilience, and a progressive spirit that continues to inform her work behind the decks. Unna Foulanah’s artistic vision stands as a counterpoint to neoliberal club culture, seeking dance floors where diversity — in sound, background, and gender — can truly thrive. Her name, a playful Spanish wordplay meaning “a girl,” mirrors her approach: spirited, ironic, open-ended. With her distinctive blend of driving techno and melodic elements, she adapts her sound to the energy of each venue, always with the goal of creating a deep musical connection and taking her audience on an unforgettable journey.
